I was right in assuming that this would be an extremely quick read, but I almost had to force myself to finish. Storyline was extremely predictable and again, cheesy, but that's pretty much what I expected. Don't know if I pick up the other books in the series or not. Guess it depends on what I'm in the mood for reading!

EDIT: Okay, My review sounds sort of cruel. It simply was not my cup of tea. My friend on the other hand loved it. Everyone has differing opinions.
Back to my cruel review.

------------------------------------------

Why did I ever read this book? I mean the title reveals it all, including: “Don’t read me. I'm shit." I really should stop picking books that Richelle Mead quotes on the front cover and states something along the lines of: “Demons , magic and sexy guys. This is a series I definitely want to keep reading.” Geez Richelle Mead how much did they pay you to say something polite about this book? I undeniably don’t want to keep reading this for sure. Sexy guys? Wait…there were sexy guys in the book? I swear I had only read about dull guys… but sexy. No. Just no. Demons and magic? So, in basic saying the author of Demon Princess has nothing new to add to the fantasy genre.

Demon princess. The title for the series, it’s just so…I can’t. It’s dreadful.

Not going to bother with a proper review. So I will just say that as I was reading this fantastic book, I acquired the skill to see into the future or maybe the book was just immensely predictable. Actually, I’ve never read a book in my life that’s this foreseeable. I figured out who was the mysterious antagonist the first time they showed up in the book. I’m unable to solve how the narrator didn’t see this though. Is she that dense?

This has to be one of the books where I play a little game called:

Let’s figure out how drunk the publishers were.

Three words; cute, quick, fun!

I was expecting something a little "darker" since this novel had that whole demon thing going for it, but it ended up being on the lighter, humorous side.

It was a great first novel to a series. A lot of introductions and plot openings, but it didn't feel like you were just reading the back-story for the beginning of a series. Nikki was a funny, insecure and likable character and I'm really looking forward to reading more about her and her adventures.

The writing is really easy to read and enjoy. The plot flowed nicely and all of the characters were well developed. Although, I did have most of the plot twists figured out well before Nikki. I'm interested to see if there is anything revealed about Melinda's character in the future novels... could there have a been a little foreshadowing we witnessed there?

Recommended if you want to read something cute & entertaining, with a little romance and a side of demons!

Ah...

Not exactly what I was expecting. I wasn't expecting much, mind, and what I got is more or less what I should have expected, but I wanted more. It seemed like it would be a little quirky, a little funny, but it wasn't. It wasn't exactly bad but it wasn't exactly good either. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it could have been so much better but it wasn't.

And surprise domestic abuse ahoy.

OMG I loved this book! It was so fantastic! I have nothing bad to say about it. It was just perfect, at least in my opinion. Michelle Rowen has made a spectacular start to her YA writing career. I just can’t wait for the second book!

I loved Nikki and Michael. At first, I didn’t think they would be good together but as I got into the book my opinion totally changed. They seemed perfect for each other once I got used to the idea. And Nikki is a great main character. You find out a lot about her background without it getting boring or repetitive. Also, she was really strong. Strong girls in books are just something that I love. She wasn’t whiny or bratty either and that is one of my biggest peeves when it comes to main characters.

The whole storyline was really good. It’s not an overdone plot which makes the book even better. I loved that the story was about demons and not werewolves or vampires, for once. No offense to those books but they are being overdone right now and I love the originality of this new series. Also, this book does have some awesome unicorns and evil fairies involved. How cool is that?

Overall, I guess I stated what I thought about this book in the first sentence of my review, I loved it! I really think this is going to be a great new series and I will be rushing out to buy the next book as soon as it hits shelves! =]

I'm really not sure about this book. I like it, I really do, but...Michael. Ugh.

This is the first time I've ever liked a main female character and totally wanted to stab the love interest with a pitchfork. He was just so...so stupid.

You know that insanely, ridiculously, and utterly retarded TV show, That 70s Show? Whenever Michael came into the book, my thoughts went straight to...well...Michael "Kelso" Kelso...

"Do you have any idea how annoying you are?"

"It wasn't every day I came right out and admitted my real feelings. But Michael seemed to be the type of guy who needed these things spelled out for him."

See. Even Nikki acknowledges it!

But, I will give him props for being one of the only Michaels I know of in a book that didn't have blonde hair, blue eyes, and played guitar. Awesome points from me.

Besides Michael, the story was just really predictable. I knew who the bad guy was, the motive, and how they were going to be stopped not even half-way through the book. Seriously people, when the bad guy is oozing niceness, it's obvious what their intentions are.

Then there is the over-all cheesiness of the book (it cheesiness a word?! o_O). I mean, the last couple of lines in the book were: Mess with the demon and you get the horns. Cute horns, but still, horns.

Nikki Donovan was okay compared to most heroines. She was actually pretty bad-ass at times, and didn't rely on Michael to save her. (Okay, she did once!). But why is she so damn peppy? Was Rowan trying to contrast her demon self and her human self? If so, too far.

Before you know it, demons are going to be sparkling, too.

The over-all plot of the story is pretty good, and it kept me entertained for the most part. It's very fast-paced, and there were really no boring parts. I did really like the book, much to my complaining over Facebook, and too Christina...and my mom.

The only reason I picked up this book was because I wanted to prove that I am a better demon princess that Nikki Donovan...I am~

This was one of my favourite books growing up. Reading it now, still loving it for what it is - an easy little self-discovery girl power story.

Not bad, but it didn't grab me. At least the ending wasn't a cliff-hanger.
