This one is so good.

At the start it felt a bit slower as we dealt with Patrick’s arrest and subsequent release. I enjoyed how that all played out. Patrick was really for the first time without his magic and he was reliant on the human justice system. The gods of course couldn’t help themselves and got involved but it was interesting how it was done.

The pace then picked up and it was a never ending battle. Thankfully this author can write a good fight scene and had me on the edge of my seat a few times wondering how the guys were going to get out of the situations they found themselves in.

I enjoyed the new gods, this time the Hawaiian and Egyptian gods were central to the fighting. I find it interesting seeing who picks which side and why. I like the fact Patrick is no longer hiding and his whole family history is out in the open.

You can feel it’s getting close to crunch time, and I am dying to know how this all finishes.

5 stars - I loved it!

Well this book was nonstop and action packed. So much happened in this book I had to start taking notes on what was going on just so I didn’t forget for this review, which rarely happens for me. Also this book is very hard to review without spoiling anything so this is going to be a bit vague.

“Jono loved the man, but Patrick attracted trouble and started fights without even trying.”

First off, this book was so freaking emotional. Patrick is really put through the ringer and has everything in his life questioned. This whole book was basically filled with traumatic experiences for Patrick and it was heartbreaking, but I loved seeing him really lean on Jono and the Pack to get him through it. Jono and Patrick’s relationship continues to grow stronger. I loved seeing these two grow closer and lean on each other during stressful times.

“He was done praying to the gods and kneeling before their altars. Love was the only altar Jono would ever worship at from here on out, and Patrick would be the only one to hear his prayers.”

Like I said, so much happens in this but we do finally see the end of the battle between the two God Packs. It was just as action packed as I was expecting. While there is a lot of danger in this, we also get some happy scenes like Sage and Marek’s wedding. Overall, this was my favorite book of the series so far and I can’t wait to see how Patrick and Jono take down the Dominion Sect.

Trigger Warnings: References to abuse, torture, forced pregnancy; graphic violence and gore

Ho-lee CRAP I love these books. When it dropped into my Kindle the other day I couldn't read it immediately and it was killing me. But now I've read it in two sleep-deprived days interrupted resentfully by stuff like work and eating and it was SO WORTH IT.

This one about killed me, so I'm kind of nervous about the seventh and final book coming in October. More demons, more danger, soooo much more Jono and Patrick and their chosen family/pack. There is so much action and peril in this book that you barely have time to breathe before Hailey Turner bludgeons you with the next event. It was awesome.

Jono and Patrick's god pack is gaining power and respect, and the nasty old god pack leaders who rule by fear and dirty fighting have done something so irretrievably foul that there is no way Jono can't answer. He must settle the question regarding who rules New York City once and for all. But Patrick's career and reputation is torn to shreds when he is framed for a brutal murder, and the truth about him co-leading the god pack comes to light--along with every other literal skeleton in his closet being bared to the media. Jono's enemies know that his only weakness is Patrick, but unfortunately, the Dominion Sect is also out to capture Patrick in order to complete a ghastly spell that will bring about the final battle.

AAARGH. That's all I have to say until book seven probably destroys me.

DNF at like.... 20% i think.
Just could not find it in me to care about the character or the plot. So close to the end of the serie I know but just wasn't for me.

PATRICK MUST BE PROTECTED!!! He's always been in need of it (that's why Jono came along) but after what happened in this book, with all the kidnapping and psychological torture, he needs a fucking rest. Like, a vacation from life and any stressors, for a very long time. It breaks my heart wanting that for him, knowing how bloody much he needs it, but being aware that there's still so much waiting to come his way. With what's happening in the next book. He's not going to be able to do it. He'll have to fight gods, and Ethan and the Dominiom Sect, and will bloody take so much of him. The gods, the sould debt he owns, they won't let him but sacrifice himself, all he has, who he is, to pay it off.

ALSO: PATRICK GO TO FRICKING THERAPHY RIGHT THE FRICK NOW. I don't know (I mean I know, but we need to change it) what Pat is not going to theraphy right the fuck NOW. Yes, his pack can protect him. Jono can protect him, until he himself can. But he needs to have already started the journey towards it. He needed a professional before the series even began AND HE NEEDS IT MORE EVEN NOW. THE BABY MUST BE PROTECTED!!!

And yes, he needs to set boundaries, but I really know that, when he's ready, he can reach out to his grandma. Ethan took too much away from him and he deserves to have his mum's family back in his life. And to heal from his past.

-SAGE AND MAREK FINALLY GOT MARRIED!! Until the last second of the book I didn't know if they were gonna make it. They all deserved some happyness in their lives.

-Ashanti's back. I was so exited after last's book's ending, but we didn't see that much of her in this book. Of course husbando Lucien appeared even less. A pity.

-The Morrigam staff's piece is safe in Pat's nightstand. TTL

-Wade baby boy feels guilty that Pat was taking away. He's another that needs to go to theraphy for real.

This is a truly well written series but I think I’m getting series-fatigue, don’t know if it’s because I decided to reread the first books before finishing it off?? But I am done, my soul is getting wounded (pun intended)
Anywho, I really had just one complaint and it’s with Patrick (I don’t think Jono has ever done any wrong

One of the things I love most about this series is the supporting cast of characters. I love Patrick and Jono together but I think what helps them be such an amazing couple is the family they have found and made with Wade and Sage and Marek and everyone else they bring into the fold. As always Wade brings such a levity to the story and I just want to go restaurant hopping with him. I did not expect the outcome of the book but looking back, it couldn't have gone any other way. I'm sad that the next book is the end but I also appreciate wanting to stop the series before people get bored with it. I'll miss my friends but I also can't wait to see what else the author has in store for us. I think I'll need to move the next book up my reading list because I have to know how everything comes together.
