It felt like EVERYONE was reading and loving this book and series, and to be honest, I wouldn't have picked it up based on the cover alone. But I did, and I really, really enjoyed it. I loved the mysterious elements, I loved the "issues" and I loved the development of the relationship between the two main characters. I'd definitely recommend this to those who prefer a grittier contemporary and a great romance.

Liked the character and story arcs. Didn't care so much for the dialog, which at times felt clunky or outdated.

This book actually lived up to the talk that I heard about it! I loved a lot of things about this book especially the alternating chapters between the main characters Echo and Noah, each character was unique and the dialogue was raw.

I liked both Echo and Noah. They were both so opposite of each other but they worked at the same time when they finally decided to be together. There relationship was very real and I think a lot of teens could relate to either one of them. The romance was awesome and I wish every guy was like that even though he was pegged as the "bad" guy.

I liked how this book had a little bit of a mystery with finding out information about Noah's brothers and Echo's scars. When that information was revealed, I was just shocked but at the same time I wasn't surprised at the same time. Overall I thought the author did a good job with doing a some what edgy book but handling it in a great way. In the end, I'm glad both of the stories ended not like I predicted.

I can say that there are only two things that I didn't like about this book. One was the swearing. I'm usually ok with it but with this book, it was kind of excessive. I know teens swear, etc etc but I don't know. Another thing I didn't like about this book was the length of the book. Wow, it was long and I believe there were parts that were drawn out and maybe not necessary.

Fans of Simone Elkele's Perfect Chemistry series will love this book! It was hard not to compare this book with that but that is what I thought about throughout.

This is seriously an AMAZING book!!! I swooned, shivered, cried, screamed, moaned, laughed, blushed, and fell in butterflying love!!!!! Definitely recommend!! The others is the series were also good but I disagree with the rating that say the others were better. This one deserves five+ stars! Also can I just say Katie Mcgarry you are an amazing writer and I love how we get the story of everyone we love in the series. Beth, Isaiah, Logan, Abby, Lila, West, etc. but there os one characters that I LOVE who’s story hasn’t been told and I NEEEEED it!!!!! ETHAN!!! Ethan I adore him and neeeeeeeeeed this story! Katie if you read this PLEASE! And other PTL fans lets start this request so it gains traction!!!❤️

“I gazed into her beautiful green eyes and her fear melted. A shy smile tugged at her lips and at my heart. F**k me and the rest of the world, I was in love.”

I have been wanting to read this for so long and once I started I couldn't stop! Another one of those books which is told from two points of view - Noah and Echo. Broken and troubled they meet through the school psychiatrist. Although they are completely different, they come together and help each other overcome their troubles through love, friendship and support.

Katie McGarry did a fantastic job of writing from a young guys point of view, She had some great insight into what guys think and what makes them tick. I liked the way that Noah was such a guy and instantly thinks that Echo is hot, but it's not until he gets to know her that his feelings change into something stronger.

The romance between Noah and Echo sure does sizzle. McGarry has a way of building the sexual tension to make it completely swoon-worthy and steamy! The chemistry between both of them was amazing and I really felt their relationship develop over time and from both of their points of view.

But this isn't just a romance fluff novel, underneath all of that is a story of family, trust and believing in yourself. Echo endured a horrific experience one night and can't remember what happened. Slowly Echo and us as readers have information revealed to us and then towards the end the puzzle pieces all fell into place.

I loved the musical inspirations at the end, in which the author told you some songs that she listened to to help her get in the zone and mind set of each of her characters. Surprisingly I knew quite a few of them and it helped me understand her thought patterns in creating the characters.

This book almost made me cry, which as I've mentioned in other reviews is a hard thing to do. I found myself falling for these characters and all their flaws. I love when a book has not only got the story right but also got the characters oh so right! I can not wait to read the other characters stories in the companion novels.

Wow, I've been so generous with my ratings lately; rounding it up and all! Take it with a grain of salt, will you? I was in a fantastic mood when I read this, so I wasn't as nitpicky and negative as always.

Romance is a genre I rarely ever venture into, and Pushing the limits both reminds me why this is the case, and pushes my prejudices aside.
This is part typical American high school drama, complete with hot football players and gossip; but also part character-driven story with some depth.

As expected, it ended up on my ’’cheesier than mozzarella sticks’’ shelf (aren’t I creative?).
There were too many 'wicked grins' and uses of nicknames. The 900th time Noah described Echo as a siren, nymph, his girl, baby or anything equally as cringe-worthy, I considered putting down the book.
Noah’s chapters were either boring or ridiculously cheesy. The bad boy is really a lovestruck puppy inside.
He felt unrealistic as a teenage boy and one-dimensional. 90% of his chapters sounded like this:

Craving more of her touch, I shifted on the floor so my arm touched her shoulder. Echo’s lips never moved, but my siren sang nonetheless. Her song seared my skin and my nose burned from her sugar and cinnamon scent.

His arm touches her shoulder and he turns into a goddamn poet. Physical contact!!! Error, error!! Cannot function properly, must use repetitive writing and ridiculous metaphors.
To put it shortly, Noah’s inner monologue was bloody awful.
Echo’s PoV was more enjoyable. While it was a little hard to relate to her, her chapters were better written and less repetitive. I was genuinely interested in her plotline and wanted to know what happened to her.

The romance and interactions between the two were steamy enough, and well done. They had chemistry, and I really enjoyed McGarry's simple yet effectual dialogue.
The side characters are okay, if a little forgettable.
The book was overly long and slow. However, the story was admittedly very addictive even when I was annoyed by it.
Will I read the sequel? Maybe on a boring day when I've nothing to read (the latter is highly unlikely). Maybe.
