This book blew me away! It was just the story I needed when I picked it up. I'd see teasers from RL and MJ in the leadup so I knew it was bound to be great. I was right. This book has everything: steam, action, relationship building, and a kick-ass world build.

This is a fast burn standalone, but it didn't feel rushed or too insta-love. The world and landscape these two authors created with the Above and the Below is outstanding. I wanted to know more about how it got to be that bad and how it was going to change. Seriously in between the steamy scenes, there's so much development and building. It's fantastic.

Plus oh baby! The steamy scenes are amazing! I love love love the concept of the different flavours (why can't real life be basically a s'more)

I loved this book! I love how the story flowed together. Sometimes standalone books feel rushed but this one didn’t. I love sera and i love her monsters and how they cherish her. How sera is strong and independent. This book was amazing and i wish it didn’t end.

Captured By The Monsters by R.L. Caulder and M.J. Marstens is a reverse harem monster romance.

I am going to start off by saying that this book wasn't what I was expecting. I am use to monster romances having Alphaholes and that wasn't the case. Sylan, Axton, and Rowen are super sweet and just want to make Sera feel safe and loved.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I just felt like it was a bit rushed and a little anticlimactic with the drama between The Above and The below.

I would recommend this book if you like reverse harem romances or paranormal romances.

This book was a fun plot with a mix of dystopia and fantasy. But I had a lot of questions. I don’t understand why the women had to die. If they weren’t a match, why couldn’t they just be sent back to The Above? Also, how is it determined what trifectas will test their stone against the women were selected? What if their match wasn’t one of the trifectas that tested their stone? Sera should’ve understood to an extent a woman not wanting to be in The Below even though she herself had adapted. Not everyone wanted or accepted that life. The whole fighting scene wasn’t realistic at all but was quickly resolved.

Oooh I loved this one. In such a short book, you really get a good grip on both worlds. I found it super easy to imagine and everything was explained at the right time, in the right way—No info dumps.

I love monster smut apparently lol. This was so fun, particularly the part where you find out how Sera needs to sustain herself in The Below

I love a good monster romance, and this has potential. It was like a Handmaids Tale meets Hunger Games dystopian future where women 18-25 are chosen by lottery to go from The Above (Earth) to The Below. Not much is known about The Below except women are never seen again.

To me the set up of the very minimal action was too long and drawn out. "Plot" or "action" came in awkward spurts in the last 40% of the book, where it felt rushed - as did the conclusion.

This was a fun monster romance and I enjoyed the conversations on sexual freedom and choice. That being said, this wasn’t really memorable and the solutions seemed way too convenient or easy. The ending was heavily rushed and just seemed impossible to happen on the timeline provided.

The Trifecta of monsters from the Below were so hot and caring, doing anything and everything for their mate. The first half of the book was really hot, but I felt that the second was a little too plot-heavy (or maybe I was just anticipating more smut). Overall it was a hot and easy read.
