Knox was so dang sweet! Omg this guy was wonderful, so freaking sweet and just, dang.
While Lexie was, ha, not a people person. She was goth, she liked to scared children, she spoke her man. She was a sarcastic prickly thing. I liked her.

He is 23, she is 28. She is jaded, and well so is he in a way, but he makes up for it by sheer enthusiasm. She is friends with his brothers gf and so they meet and get it on.

As the blurb does not say more I will not spoil things. But he wants her and he will try and catch her. I loved that about him. He was the sweetest and awwww. While she will try and get away cos dang that woman has issues! I get that you wanna be independent and do things yourself. But it is not weak to ask for help! And trust me, there is this situation where she so needs help and I want to smack her over the head. I get why the author made her that way, but arghhhh, you frustrating woman! You do not deserve this sweet guy!

Tension, passion and a good chase. I enjoyed it!

Narration.
I liked Rebecca Estrella, she is good with range and emotion.
As for Rudy Sanda I had the same problem as in a previous books. I get that Knox is a redneck hillbilly, but why make him and his brother sounds SO hillbilly. It is not sexy, I did not get the shivers then. When they talk, ugh, just no. Run and hide. When he narrates it is much better

The heroine in got on my nerves. It took me forever to get through this with her inner monologue.

As previous Jessica Clare books, the steamy is very steamy. So on that department, this book cemented her signature. However, the story is... off. The insta love is not believable. How can someone knows they want to get married just from first glance? That is really throw me off.

And I do not like Knox. I was expecting he is going to be cynical. But he turns out to be pessimistic character. It does not fit with his possessive alpha male behavior. And Lexi? I can not connect with her at all. I dont understand her at all.

I give this 3 stars just because the steamy.

Dirty Bastard was a quick read, and kept me interested enough that I read it all in one sitting. Despite Knox's crudeness I liked him and his family. However, I found myself annoyed with Lexi. Her unwillingness to compromise and her blatant disregard for her own safety and not telling her BFF or Knox about a very crazy and scary stalker annoyed me. I know she had a bad marriage before, but that's no reason not to mention to someone that she's being stalked (I know she made an attempt to go to the cops and they blew her off, but telling Knox or Natalie would been a better option than nothing.)

I wish there had been a little more of the after, we never got to see her tell Natalie she was pregnant. Never got to see anything about Seth's death either, which I felt should have been mentioned a bit more than it was tbh.

I really liked that Knox didn't have time for the looking for sugar daddy girls and could spot fakeness a mile away, an important skill for a man of wealth.

Author relied far too much on a trucker hat to describe an otherwise vacant personality.

This was not for me. In general, I find this author very hit or miss. I don't enjoy insta-love and this was the very definition of that. The characters were ok for me, I didn't really get why she wanted to hide everything and do everything on her own, but whatever. The clincher though was how anti-climactic the stalker plot line ended up being.

definitely the best of the series just because knox and lexi were just cute and captivating characters that felt a bit less tropey and a bit more fleshed out than the last two books. i also just found lexi to be a "not like other girls" character without the misogyny of that trope. she was just eccentric and "weird" i guess but i found her charming not irritating. and also, like all these books, i just love a hero in pursuit and i love jessica clare so i knew was gonna have a good time

also i know we're not gonna get it bc this series was written over two years ago but i really want a book about gage. i just want him to be happy too

I loved that Knox and Lexi are both different kinds of heroes/heroines. Romantic heroes are usually perfect, with no flaws and few quirks, they are the "ideal" of romantic heroes and heroines are thin, and pretty, and perfect.

Lexi is quirky. She is a yoga teacher, her studio isn't successful, she dresses in all black, is intentionally off putting to men, forgetful (at times and about certain important things)...oh, and she has a stalker.

Knox is a billionaire who still lives in a trailer and who thinks the fancy house his brother bought for his wife isn't really necessary.

So, together, they are an unlikely pair. And, they are perfect. And, Knox knows this. Lexi, well, she takes a little convincing, and an accidental pregnancy.

I loved how convinced he was that they were perfect for one another, and that he was pretty much willing to hang around until she figured it out. It takes her a bit, and it takes her realizing that Knox was serious about how he felt, for her to decide that maybe the billionaire in a trailer is her happily ever after.

I recommend this title.
