I LOVE Rebecca Zanetti's writing. I love her MCs but this is first time I recall her writing such a weak heroine. I really liked this story and the plot, but not as much as the prior books because Audrey was a nincompoop. Nate and the Dean brothers were awesome as usually but I don't know how Nate could have fallen in love with such a naive ninny. Full review at Oh My Shelves Blog

I think this book has less kick-bad-guys'-butts action but it's no less awesome than the previous two. One of my fav bits is the one with the Pinterest thing (I laughed so hard).

Summary

Nate Dean is part of a military unit along with his brothers. The dean brothers were part of a government experiment to be genetically engineered soldiers. Each of them have an expiration date and time is running down for the brothers, unless they can find the right codes to deactivate the chip in their backs that will explode and kill them if they don't find the codes, and soon. Nate and his brothers are loyal 100% to each other and will fight and protect each other with every breath they take.

"I told you to stay in Montana, and I'd bring Audrey to you." What the hell were his brothers thinking? They couldn't be this close to the commander - not all three of them at once. It was too risky.
Matt shook out his wet black hair. "Oh. Is that what you meant by telling us to stay the fuck out of DC?"
"Yes." Exasperation filled Nate's head with static.
"Humph." Shane gingerly stepped back onto the rug. "We must've got that wrong. We thought you were in trouble and needed help." His lip lifted in a smart-ass grin. "Ooops."

Nate knows that he will have to reconnect with the woman that broke his heart five years ago. She is the one person that he will have o  to trust again if he wants to get the information that he needs. Audrey Madison is shocked when she spies Nate across the ballroom while she is on her job. Audrey never stopped loving Nate, and he still takes her breath away. She knows how dangerous Nate is, but no one can know what she is really doing working with the senator. She has to keep up appearances or her plan to reveal the truth about the Commander and put him in jail where he belongs will be ruined, and Nate could ruin all that she has worked hard for. As Nate and Audrey rebuild a trust and a second chance, they will have to fight to be with each other and may lose their lives in the process.

The Hero

Nate Dean, was genetically enhanced and like his brothers have certain abilities the other enhanced soldiers never had. They have kept is a secret from the commander and Dr. Madison (Audrey's mother) because if they were to discover the real truth about the Dean brothers, then everything could be lost. Nate is protective of his brothers but tends to lose control over his emotions, most especially anger. Audrey was a woman he fell in love with and he still can't get her out of his head, despite the betrayal and how her actions hurt his family. Nate has dedicated himself to keeping his emotions locked away and fighting to keep himself and his brothers alive. What I loved most about this Dean brother, was how dedicated he is to his family. And there are times he is almost like a child and has those moments he never had as a child. He isn't ashamed of it either.

"We're going to watch a movie? I haven't seen the new Disney one. I love monsters that talk."
The commander glanced over his shoulder. "You're under the influence of potent truth-inducing drugs. You really do love Disney movies."
Nate tried to shrug. Disney movies rocked.

He is protective and loyal, has the perfect blend of sexiness and dangerous appeal. We really see how determined he is to survive and his strength mentally and physically and we see how he is tested in this story but never breaks...just becomes even more formidable.

He was an experiment created in a test tube, maybe without a soul, perhaps without any hope. But for a brief time, with this woman, he’d felt whole. Real. Good. Even if they just had the night, he wanted that feeling again. Before he sacrificed everything.

The Heroine

Audrey Madison never knew her father, and still doesn't know his true identity. For Audrey's mother, Audrey was just an experiment to see what pregnancy and rearing a child would be. Audrey has always wanted to create a bond with her mother, to find a connection and has always searched for it all of her life. Audrey, though she is an adult, still hasn't given up that there must be something redeemable in her mother. But Audrey also knows that her mother and the Commander have both manipulated her, and she ended hurting the one person she would never hurt. Audrey is a stunning heroine and my heart just broke for her. Especially when we learn how much pain she has gone through around the time she and Nate ended their relationship.

She'd given her heart to Nate years ago, but no future existed for them. She had this moment, and she wanted to experience every second, no matter how quickly it ended.

You see how driven she is to bring the Commander down, and she knows the danger that if he ever discovered she will be killed. Audrey is passionate, loves with her full heart and has quite the courage and spirit that comes out in this story.

Plot and Story Line

Blind Faith is a story I have been eager to read ever since the first book. We see hints of Nate's love for Audrey in the first book. So I was really excited to see these two come back together. In the previous two books, there were only hints about what really happened between these two five years previous, but we see how both Nate and Audrey were manipulated by the commander and Dr. Madison. These two are nutcases (quite literally) they are really perfect for each other because of how crazy they are in the name of science. But we really see how insane Audrey's mother is. One of the focuses of the story is the relationship between Dr. Madison and her daughter Audrey. Now in this book we see how split Audrey is from her determination to create a family bond with her mother and her love for Nate and his brothers. We see Nate's side of things, he doesn't understand Audrey, because her actions are becoming contradictory, and he means to discover her secrets and exactly what she is keeping from him. There is also another danger that rises up in this book, a fanatic cult that views the creations like the Dean brothers as "unholy" and must be destroyed and this aspect really stirs things up in this book. I liked the multiple sides of danger that Audrey and Nate have to learn to deal with in order to survive. The supporting characters were pretty great. We see more of the brothers and hints that their youngest brother is still alive, but they are unsure. Another character I really was charmed by was the Senator or as he likes to be called later "Grand-Pop". He is a widow and you see how he treats Audrey like a loving father would for his child. Audrey needs that because she has never had any kind of parental love, and she has always searched for it. There is also something else that happens to Audrey, thanks to her mother using her, that really adds a new twist. (I want to say what it is but would hate to reveal it for those who have never read this book). But those who have read Blind Faith probably know exactly what I am talking about. It binds Nate and Audrey in a certain way that cements the relationship they are been rebuilding. I love romances like this, because we see how much these two care for each and always have...but they were both used and love how they stuck with each other this second time and didn't let anything tear them apart.

“No way in hell am I letting you go this time.”

Blind Faith was such a fantastic book because the previous books led up to this one a bit, and every delicious moment kept me captivated.

The Cover

I absolutely adore this cover...I mean who wouldn't right? I love the green background, and the dangerous stance and boy is that man one gorgeous piece of yumminess.

Overall View

Blind Faith is a thrilling tale of a Dean brother, a story of passion, rekindling of a lost love, and fighting for what holds most dear and standing up for what is right no matter the cost. A quick paced edgy romance that will keep you coming back for more. EXHILARATING!!

She'd never trade the few moments of true happiness she found with him--not for anything.

Blind Faith begins with a quick flashback to twenty years earlier, when our Hero, Nate was there for his family as a little kid. Fast forward to present day when he meets up with the woman that left him broken-hearted five years earlier, Audrey. What Nate doesn't know is that Audrey has the same hidden agenda as he does and accomplishing their goal is not going to be easy, no matter how much manpower they have.

Blind Faith was great - it's got the heat of a romance with plenty of heart, but with non-stop action and even some mystery thrown in. This was fast-paced and such a fun ride! I'm going to have to backtrack and read the first two books in the Sins Brothers series.

I just started this series late last year. It is a romantic suspense series with a hint of paranormal to it. It focuses around a group of brothers who were bred in test tubes and raised on a military base by the Commander who thought of them as nothing but weapons since the day that they were born. The paranormal aspect comes into play because the greay brothers (named for the color of their eyes) have enhanced abilities, such as, supernatural hearing, healing, and focus on little to no sleep. On top of all these genetic upgrades, they’ve have the best military training in the world.

Blind Faith focuses on Nathan, the second oldest of the Dean brothers. The book starts off with a flashback to when they are still children. It was very sweet to see how Nathan not only wanted to give his two younger brothers a happy childhood and memories with of Christmas, while still protecting his older brother from the consequences that the Commander puts on Nathan to have this little piece of happiness.

The heroine of this story is Audrey Madison. She is the daughter of the head psychiatrist for the Commander. She was raised in a loveless relationship with her mother. Raised by nannies, boarding schools and was little more than a curiosity to her mother. She has no idea who her father is. When she was still high school aged, Dr. Madison set Audrey up with Nathan to see how the Grey brothers would respond to love that wasn’t for one another. She just wants to feel wanted by someone for herself.

Blind Faith takes place in Washington D.C. Audrey is working as an aide to a Senator from Wyoming. She was planted there by the Commander, hoping that she could help get funding for the Commander’s projects pushed through the government. The story is full of everything you would expect with secret military groups, politicians, fanatical lobbying groups. There is lots of murder, backstabbing, and secrets. Add in the Dean brothers, and you have a truly exciting story.

While you could read Blind Faith without reading the other two books first, I do think it is great to see the brother grow throughout the series. I’ve really enjoyed watching how each of the brothers have fallen for each of the women in the series. I’m really excited to get to the last book of the series. The final brother of the series is quite a mystery. The audio release of that book can’t come soon enough.

Narration
This is the first series that I’ve listened to by Karen White. I’ve heard about her a lot, but she doesn’t do many, PNR or UF books, which is my main genre.

I’ve seen her name come up a bunch on contemporary romances, but they are not high on my list, though I do some here and there. She did a great job with the Sin Brothers series. She did a great job with both male and female characters. I hope to find more books with Karen White as the narrator. I really enjoyed her portrayal of Blind Faith and the other Sin Brothers books.

I was provided a copy of the book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 3rd book in the series and can be read as a standalone; reading the first two books would provide more context.

Nate Dean/Grey is a soldier who was genetically engineered and raised to be a killing machine. He escaped the organization with his brother 5 years before, but is back to try to save his brothers lives. He needs the help of Audrey Madison, the woman he loved years before, who works with the organization.

This book was a combination of romance, suspense, action, and politics. I loved Nate and his fierce protectiveness. I loved Audrey and her devotion to helping others.

Soldier on borrowed time needing the help of his ex to rectify that, and chaos ensue. There's a nice balance of hot romance and really twisty suspense - in fact, it's kinda two plots in one. Love both MCs! She's fiesty, kind and bold BUT I can't get with her mummy issues and the seeking of approval from a batshit, evil woman.

He's a dangerous alpha male with a huge heart and I adore how protective he is. They have amazing chemistry and the rebuilding of their relationship while facing danger is sizzling and exciting. They love very deeply and they give their all in protecting each and their loved ones. Very enjoyable.

Jennifer (The Book Nympho) and I teamed up for a joint review!

I've Got a Secret
Jonetta: Audrey can't tell Nate she's on his side because she wants to protect him. Puh-leeze! He's a killing machine!! Glad this didn't last too long.
Jennifer: I agree but really she loves him and wants to protect him. But yeah he's a stone-cold killer when he needs to be.

Money and Politics
Jonetta: Loved this combo for the story. I knew we could expect dirty dealing, backstabbing and somebody getting knocked off.
Jennifer: Most of the twists I saw coming but they were still written well and I really thought I knew who Audrey's dad was going to be but at last I was wrong. Unless it was another lie...

Mother of the Year!
Jennifer: Geez, Audrey's mom is a cold-hearted bitch! I wanted her to die.
Jonetta: I wanted her to become one of her test lab specimens! Epic fail as a mother.

There's a New Group in Play
Jennifer: What do you think of the new group, Protect? They might be on the opposite side as the Commander but they are just as nuts.
Jonetta: These groups never cease to amaze me. They all think their agendas justify the crazy. They both need to go down.

Commander Showdown
Jonetta: The most riveting part of the book. Didn't see it coming and it was a great moment.
Jennifer: Yeah but he didn't get the ending he needed. I'm sure he'll be around for the last book. If anyone could serve that it would be him.

And How About Karen White!
Jennifer: Karen does a great job with this series and the emotions that's written into the characters. She totally nailed Audrey's bitch of a mom.
Jonetta: Loved her performance! She nailed Mommie Dearest and brought the characters alive.

Hail or Fail?
Jennifer: Hail! BLIND FAITH is my favorite too. Seems each book and brother tops the last. Can't wait to see what Jory brings to the group.
Jonetta: Big hail! My favorite in the series to date. I think listening to the series makes a difference, too.

Unf, I love these books! Action, romance, and did I mention more action and romance? A great combination and one that's sure to keep me turning the pages!

These books have the rare quality of being both an action novel and steamy romance at the same time, and it's a combination that works really well. I quite like it in contrast to the usual romance novels out there, and the fact that it's done pretty well helps quite a bit! Any romance aficionado will tell you that it's easy to find romance... It's the good romance that we're all so desperate for!

The book opens with Nate on a quest to save himself and his brothers, and intent on confronting the woman he believes he betrayed him, too. Audrey has tried to harden her heart, but failed, and she isn't sure she'll survive Nate coming back into her life again. The two of them have undeniable chemistry, though, and it's just too much to resist!

Nate is a broody but vulnerable tough guy, struggling to move on and heal from his past, protective and loyal. Swoon-worthy combination :) His scenes with Audrey could literally make pages melt, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the progression of their relationship throughout the book, and the way that they slowly heal.

If there was one thing I would wish, it would be that there was more to the plot - it's all focused on one big story arc, which I don't have a problem with, but I wish that there were more subplots in each book. I think that would have taken the book over the edge from good to 'amazing', to be honest.
