This was cute enough, but it’s definitely super cheesy at times. I appreciated the humor and how fun loving the main character is and how sweet and respectful the love interest is. I could have done without the constant references to her weight and how she insisted she was fat. “Curvy” does not mean “fat”, but what can ya do?

I was drawn in by the characters personalities from the get go and thus definetly didn't change, but as the book went along I found it to be a bit cringy....
communication really was lacking, I mean how the heck do you not explain your history with Danika after the library incident, but this goes both ways why wouldn't you ask Abel directly about Danika eight after!? 😟

I thought this book was cute! I really liked the characters and enjoyed the dialogue. It was a quick and easy read that I thoroughly appreciated.

I literally laughed out loud while reading some of these scenes. Lou is quirky and out there but I enjoyed her antics. Abel was a really likable character and I also would love to know where to find him out in the wild.

I’d recommend this if you’re looking for a lighthearted, romantic comedy!

I was originally going to give this 1* because I really wasn’t a fan of this book. However, I think I was initially coloured by my extreme dislike of the heroine Lou and it distracted me from the positives.

Firstly, the concept and trope of this book are good. I love a roommates to lovers story and the blurb did initially draw me in. Secondly, the writing isn’t horrible, It didn’t feel stilted or jarring like some other romances I’ve read and the sex scenes weren’t awkward or cringey.

This is where the positives end for me unfortunately, I really tried to like this book but I just couldn’t ever get into it. Going back to my main gripe with the book, Lou, I found her obnoxious, grating and a caricature of a ‘quirky, body positive’ girl. While I’m all for people being their own cheerleader and loving themselves, it was aggravatingly over the top in this book to the point it got boring. Another thing, although I don’t know why this irritated me so much...

3.5 stars.

Where to start with this book? I think it’s a solid book, with a few quite large flaws.
Lou. The preoccupation with her weight, and the fact that she keeps going on and on and on about it gets really tiresome. I like that she’s strong and sassy and owns who she is but she doesn’t need to keep going on about it. It’s also contradictory because when she’s with other people all of that disappears. The doubts she has come so easily and again are at odds to who she claims to be.
I liked Abel. He’s a great character. I liked the honesty he had with Lou and she had with him.
I liked Tanner but wanted more of him. I thought he would play a bigger part than he did.

But, there’s flaws.
I’m kind of annoyed that this book is set in the same town as all of Micalea’s other books. I want a new town!
Also, this book reads very young. And why is it such a travesty to be single in college?

In all, this is an okay book.

As in most romance books, we knew how this was going to end, but, we were on it for the journey. I loved the journey. It kept my attention the whole time and was not far-fetched.

I loved the double epilogue! They made the story.

Well,

Boas leituras.

I have a claim on Abel Russo and there is absolutely nothing y'all can do about it. Back off ladies, he's mine!

Lou is in desperate search for a roommate for her 2-bedroom college apartment after her sleazy landlord raises the rent. Abel is in desperate search for a new place to live after his roommate moves his girlfriend in. It seems like fate just might have some ideas for these two.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the fun and quirkiness in this adorable romance. Abel is an absolute cinnamon roll. He is super sweet and loving. Lou is so amazing. She is unashamed to be who she is. She is this amazing curvy woman. She is quirky and weird and totally okay with that. I loved that Abel is just accepting of her and she is accepting of him. I love that the people around her are super supportive as well. There are so many stories with plus size heroines where the people around her are not supportive of who she is and are wanting her to change. I loved that the people around Lou accept her for who she is and are not trying to change her. I did want more of her friends and more of Abel’s friends. It almost seemed as if they were the only ones sometimes.

But overall, this book was so amazing! I absolutely loved it!
