Not a book to be taken too seriously in the science and data (it’s always changing!), but I appreciate the lens of your life and subconscious scripts being permeable and malleable. Listening to it on audiobook, he really gets to a call-to-action in the last ten minutes — basically, it’s all info and very little action. If you’ve done a lot of healing work/exploration in the overlap between science and the unexplained energy of life, this probably won’t give you much info you don’t already know. Still a compelling argument to look at the ways our conditioning rules our behavior and how to change it when it’s not serving us.
Read this for book club, or rather tried to read this for book club. I wanted more of the practical, spiritual application of the subject, than the scientific description of cells, cell membranes, and endless elaborate explanations which were supposed to bring us all to some big a-ha conclusion, but failed to do so, for me.
I am interested in consciousness, miracles, and matter, but I did not think the author made the leap from cells to human beings in any coherent fashion. To me, it seemed like he talked about cell division and cell behavior, then tried to make it fit into another, bigger reality.
I admit, though, I was so not into it, that I took 2 months to read it, ended up skipping parts that reminded me of college courses (chemistry, biology, nutrition).
It could just be me, this book seems highly rated by most who've read it. It's just if I read a nonfiction book I want it to be really, really interesting.

"Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, & Miracles" is Dr. Bruce Lipton's groundbreaking work on epigenetics -- the discovery that our genes don't determine our fate; rather, our perception determines the expression of our genes. There's another great series of lectures on Audible called "The Wisdom of Your Cells," where he goes over the same material. I have a bad habit of taking for granted how miraculous and magical the human body is... This book really helped me understand how my psychology effects my physiology, and set me on a path of exploration of energy psychology and tools for reprogramming subconscious beliefs. 8/10 stars.
Although the first chapters are grounded in science, its outcomes are pseudoscientific and reductionistic. This book is a bluff, dangerous for those who don't have enough knowledge on genetics and epigenetics.
Of course culture and behaviour matters. Mind matters, too.
But Lipton arguments and misinformation don't support it.

Have you ever worked with someone who inspired the fuck outta you? The kind of person who taught you something profound or confirmed a spiritual belief through their work?
The most memorable story I worked on hasn't been published yet and I'm not entirely certain it'll ever be published. The act of writing, for the author, was an act of catharsis; the revision coaching, a salve. Doing the work, for her, felt like enough, and I get it. Sometimes we just need to offload the weight holding us in place, and writing is a great way to process and release heavy emotions. But for the sake of the world and in pursuit of long-lasting healing, I hope she publishes.
Her story is one of resilience and persistence in the face of allopathic health care. When she was pushed into hospitals and other medical settings, drugged up, hushed up, and dehumanized, she turned inward, reconnected with her soul-spark, found her way to plant and folk medicines — and healed herself.
Her journey is unlike others I'd read and included lots of treatments that most would call "pseudo-science" or straight up quackery. And yet, those pseudo-scientific processes are exactly what she needed to heal.

I am a better person and editor because I had the pleasure of investing in this writer’s healing story and her writing. Simply put, working with this client was a spiritual experience.
I already lean into folk medicine and energy medicine, have been doing so slowly and in my own way since 2017, but my client’s writing prompted me to pick up Dr. Bruce Lipton's book, The Biology of Belief.

Definitely groundbreaking idea that our environment influences our genetic expression, which is the study of epigenetics. The main point of the book is to provide you enough evidence on how our nutrition, stress, and emotions can modifiy our genes. I listed to this Audible, but I suggest reading it in book or kindle form as it can delve into the science so it's difficult to just listen to those parts.
