OH this book. The emotions and the heartache. The pain of finding the truth and moving on from it! This is one beautiful tale and so unique. My heart was pounding as I read through the pages. I love how Evie, even through all the trauma she went through, brought something out in herself she never thought possible. She is one strong girl and I loved how her character was written and portrayed. She was a fighter. She never backed down. But she also had this shy nature that she had a hard time trusting after everything she had been through.
Levi, oh Levi. That man. You want to fall in love with him and you do. He is so gentle with Evie. So perfect for her. Then when things come to light.. you just wanna smack him so hard... or do a lot of other mean things to him like Evie's best friend, Cherelyn, suggests! PS she's a hoot! I love her. I wanna be her best friend!
Overall, this book had amazing character build, epic love, and I could not get enough. This story is one that will forever be ingrained into your soul. I love how Leighton wrote this story. It isn't about a blind girl. It's about a woman, living and giving it her all in life regardless of what was handed to her.

ARC received from author for an honest review

I was not sure what to expect when I picked up Levi's Blue, but being a M. Leighton book, I knew it would be good.

And it was more than good.

From the first word to the last I was drawn into the of Evian de ChampLain - Evie. She was not our usual heroine. I tell you what, she really is the master of making lemonade out of the lemons life has thrown her way. Made me feel a bit bad about the things I whinge and whine about in life (come on, we all do it!)

From the moment we meet Levi I was hooked. There was just something about the man that I couldn't help but adore. And even though part of his and Evie's storyline was quite predictable, it was how we got there and where we were taken afterwards that kept me intrigued.

There were some great secondary characters, but there were also some characters that I wanted to slap with my kindle.

Ms Leighton has created a beautiful, colourful, wonderful world that made me see things in a completely different way. It has made me want to (when it finally stops raining here) take the time out to just sit, close my eyes and listen to the world.

Levi's Blue is a beautiful and at times heartbreaking romance, and has left me wanting more.

I can't wait to see what Ms Leighton brings us next.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when reading this story and there’s not a whole lot I can say in my review that wouldn’t be spoiler-ish and I definitely can’t do that as it would ruin the book for anyone that read this. I will say that the writing is really good, almost poetic or lyrical. I love the banter between Evie and Levi, they seem perfect for each other. I love Evie’s strength and what she does for a living; she is truly inspiring. Levi almost seems too good to be true, but that turns out that he is exactly as perfect as he seems in the end. Even as lighthearted as they are at times, this is an extremely emotional read. Once I picked it up, it was hard to put down. There were several great side characters and a couple of really ugly side characters.

My one big issue with the story is I read a story 3 years ago with an eerily similar plotline and that made this story really predictable to me…the big ‘surprise’ around the 75% mark wasn’t a surprise at all for me. This dropped my rating from 5 stars to 4.

Evie de Champlain may be blind, but she refuses to be defined by her disability. Because, although she can't see with her eyes, Evie calls on her her memories and her other senses to create true works of art. Levi Michaelson is enchanted by Evie when he meets her at one of her art shows, and it isn't long before the two are spending all of their time together. Not everyone wishes Evie and Levi well, though, and their newfound happiness is put to the test soon enough.

I have been a fan of Michelle Leighton for a very long time. From the twisty, intriguing storylines of her Bad Boys series, to the tautly suspenseful Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series, to the heartbreak and redemption of POCKETFUL OF SAND, to the mind-blowing and amazing THE EMPTY JAR, Michelle manages to write evocative and creative stories that grab me every single time. I guess what I'm saying is that Michelle hasn't written a book that I haven't loved, so when I had the opportunity to read LEVI'S BLUE, I jumped at the chance.

Evie is truly amazing. A firm believer in making lemonade from the lemons that come her way, she has taken what could have been a devastating turn in her life and made it into something wonderful and beautiful, something that enriches not only her life, but those of the people that get to see her creations. And, while she could have been bitter and angry over everything that happened, she's instead open and humorous and joyful.

Levi is a man with secrets. Since I'm keeping this spoiler-free, suffice to say that there is plenty going on under that sinfully sexy and engaging surface. I think that one of the reason that he is so attracted to Evie is that she is wide open, sharing her gifts and her heart with everyone around her, and it just calls to him. And, I have to say, once the "ish" hits the fan, and his secrets are revealed, Levi is a man on a mission to plead his case and prove himself worthy of forgiveness and love. Being in the dog house never looked so good, and he definitely have won my heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed LEVI'S BLUE. The story is unique and fresh, the characters are funny and sexy and strong, and the dialogue had me smiling throughout (well, when I wasn't crying right along with Evie, that is). And, while I enjoy a cliffhanger as much as the next person, I am a big fan of a story where everything gets wrapped up, so the epilogue was a perfect touch for me. Thank you, Michelle, for this beautiful story, one that will stay with me for a long time to come.

4.5 "I LOVE Levi and his Levi blue skies" stars!!

This story was chock full of feels. So many feels. I couldn't help but sympathize with Evie's (h) plight. As her story started to unfold, my compassion for her only grew. I cannot imagine what this must be like (sorry for being vague but I don't want to give away the plot), but the author created an incredibly fierce character that I couldn't help but like. Evie was beautiful, strong, talented, adaptable and a great maker of cold beverages.

Levi (H) ... I LOVED this character so much and despite (or maybe because of) his past and his past actions, he became a better man for Evie. He found the meaning of his life with her. Their relationship was so sweet, the banter was so witty, and their chemistry was so off-the-charts hot! What I loved the most about Levi was how far he was willing to go to achieve a HEA with Evie. I'm a real sucker for a man who knows how to humble himself for his woman.

Nothing. Better.

There was obviously some conflict and there were plenty of people I wanted to throat punch. *cough* Julianne *cough* M. Leighton even handled the angst in a way that made me love this couple even more. The story was beautifully written with amazing characters and the epilogue was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have imagined a better ending for these two.

P.S. In the acknowledgements, the author gave a link to John Bramblitt's work and it is remarkable. I'm not an art connoisseur or anything, but I do believe that his work is not only unique because he is blind, but it is better than a lot of what I've seen from those who CAN see. You should check it out: http://bramblitt.myshopify.com/

This book was everything. I don't even care that the plot twist was predictable. I loved every little thing about this book and I adore Evian and Levi. Review to come for sure.
