I'm not even sure where to begin. At first, I enjoyed some of the mini stories that make up this book. There were a few threads I'll most likely explore. Then I started to note a pattern: this book is silicon valley stereotype out of touch me culture in a nutshell.

The more I read, the more navel gazing the book felt. It's filled with some uplifting stories and many of them quickly slide into, at best, humble brag new age tech BS. As someone in the tech field, I do see this attitude. A lot. It's not limited to silicon valley at all and it's very much a bubble with self fulfilling feedback cycles.

Years from now, some anthropology researcher will use this book to describe why the early 21st century burned due to valuing money/self over society.

As a total aside I loved 4 hour work week. It's a classic. I have a ton of respect for the vast majority of people in this book. However the sum of the parts made me ... Sad for humanity.

Interesting - but I didn't want to read about EVERYONE

I've been listening to this in audio, then once in a while scrolling through the PDF version, highlighting the most interesting parts.
The first part about diets and supplements wasn't for me, but the rest was simply a treasure trove.. so much goodness condensed within one book.
informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

I enjoy reading about each Titan's why, their challenges and their motivations. It gives insight that I wouldn't necessarily think of.

An excellent book full of advice I could use right away.

My only tip is to take notes throughout the book but in a way that's easy to use. For example, divide your notebook into sections such as health, health tips, for further research, business ideas, business tips, quotes that knocked my socks off, etc.

I didn't take this advice and now I have to read the book all over again!

I have mixed feelings about this book. There's a lot of practical, useful and implementable advice in it. The broad range of people Tim Ferriss includes is a positive because depending on your goals, personality and needs there are some basics that will be applicable to you. For this type of book that is crucial because what works for one person may not work for another and I'm not a fan of books that offer one solution as being the only way.

Like Ferriss I enjoy reading about the routines and habits of people. They're interesting beyond trying to use as advice for life. It is a delight to be offered a window into someone else's life to see what they do regularly and how it relates to their priorities and pursuits. Where it falls apart for me is that it wasn't precisely routines and habits. I did make a lot of notes and bookmarked many pages because they were fundamentally interesting and it's a book I will revisit. The editing, however, does give it more of an advice feel. I was less enthused about that angle because many of the included individuals have routines that are not as accessible/applicable to every day life.

The degree to which I fault the book on this front is limited as the title does indicate that the included individuals are at the top of their fields or have at least achieved success in financial as well as professional spheres and so some of the routines will be out of reach.

It is pretty close to the book I expected and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading random routines, advice and recommendations from a variety of walks of life. Ferriss didn't go too aspirational with it and I appreciate that. I do wish there had been more of the "routines" involved as it seemed to be more heavy on the tactics but as I said, I know I'll be returning to sections that were interesting or compelling.

Interesting to rest on my coffee table and just flip through once in a while. A collection of people, each snippet about three pages long... their POV on life. It's motivating, and really does a good job at showcasing a wide variety of "tools" that work for different people.

Well it took me a while to get through this tome, but there are a lot of gems in it in many different genres. I did a whole lot of underlining and added a bunch of books to my Want To Read list as a result. It's an easy read but a substantial undertaking :)

This is a reference book. A guide on how people who are healthy/wealthy/wise have achieved those states. The idea is to take what you like and adapt to your own everyday routine.
