  | Brooke did not disappoint and met her match! I loved her enthusiasm and positivity, but we learn there is more depth to her than appears. Mason is the perfect man to draw her heart out, and match her in every way <3

I think this was a good story. I liked it a lot, I loved the female character, I wish we could have more characters like her. Empowered with her sexuality and unashamed. Sure, she has some issues and insecurities but who doesn't? But I loved that she was written and I loved that she got her HEA. I met Brooke in the previous books of the series and at first I found her a little bit shallow, then the second book came and she grow on me so much that I was craving her story, I knew she would have a cool story to tell, and she did. Brooke meets this aussie guy (hot!) and he's charmed immediately. In fact it kind of surprise me and I must confess it was kind of hard to believe that this guy, Mason, feels so passionately about Brooke in such a short time, it was different or I guess I wasn't expecting it. It amazed me how much he cared for her inmediately and it make me want that for me too heehee...

As I said and I must say it again, I love the fact that Brooke owns her sexuality and I'd like to see it as shoutout to all of us women. That we can like sex and have sex (no matter with who or how many times) and it doesn't mean we are 'whores' or any other type of name calling. What I didn't like so much is that Brooke feels unloved, or that it's hard for her to love and be loved, and I think that jeopardize the empowering she has on her sexuality. But it's ok, because it happens, ad it's real, so I totally understand it. At the same time I found fascinating the process in which Brooke fell for Mason and how she struggled to admit it to herself. It was kind of cute.

As you see the book was very good and I really liked it :)

P.S I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.

This standalone novel is my favourite in this Sweet Addiction Series! Great characters in this one and if you are listening to the audiobook version... enjoy the Aussie accent!!

Sweet Obsession is the third book in the Sweet Addiction series by J. Daniels, and it also crosses over with the Alabama Summer Series. It can be read as a standalone though with no problems. While I have read and enjoyed the Alabama Summer Series, I am new to the Sweet Addiction Series. I really enjoyed this book though, and I cannot wait to read more! J. Daniels is quickly becoming a favorite of mine with her sexy stories, and this one was so good!

Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time. She isn't looking for anything serious, so when she meets the sexy Aussie Mason King she can't wait to have a little sexy fun. But Mason King has done the casual thing in the past and is looking for more. Upon meeting the fun and feisty Brooke, he is determined to get more from her than just a one time hookup and makes it known that he isn't down for just a single night together. Though Brooke makes it clear that she is ready and willing, Mason is willing to do whatever it takes to get to know Brooke and sets out to win her over. But can Mason convince her to give a relationship a chance?

I really loved these two as individuals and I loved them even more together. Brooke was fun and confident, and I really loved how comfortable she was in her own skin. But she also had some insecurities that most never saw. Her friends and Mason were super supportive of her, but there were times that it really came out how much things affected her. Mason was sexy and sweet, and I loved how great he was with Brooke. He really wanted to get to know her in more than just a physical way, and he had a way of convincing her to give things a chance. I thought that both of them made some mistakes here, but the connection growing between these two was so great to see. The chemistry between them was insane, and every single moment they were together was filled with the best kind of tension. Mason was wanting more than just sex, but when it came to these two being together he was absolutely hot! I loved his dirty talk and how natural things were between him and Brooke.

Overall, this was a really good story. I enjoyed the funny times as well as the sweet and sexy ones. This one had it all, and I really loved Brooke and Mason. I did think that both Brooke and Mason handled a few things poorly here though, and I was a bit frustrated with them at times. Mason was trying so hard, and yet Brooke was always running scared from anything serious with him even though it was already happening. I didn't really understand her issues with commitment, when it seemed like she had never really had anything happen to her to make it that way. There was no huge and painful breakup from her past, and she had never been in love. So I just didn't really understand where all the fear was coming from. I still really enjoyed the story though, and I can't wait to read more from J. Daniels in the future.

I enjoyed the first two books, and as much as i liked this, it just doesn't have the same zing and seems to drag on.

Tbh honest though, it's probably because the male lead just doesn't read like an Aussie. When i think Australian, I think swearing, fosters and Waltzing Matilda.

[b:Sweet Addiction|22857396|Sweet Addiction (Sweet Addiction, #1)|Jessica Daniels|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1407086989s/22857396.jpg|41347747] was my very first taste of erotica. The combination of baking and sex, sugar and spice made it the perfect introduction to the genre, and I jokingly blame J. Daniels for corrupting my sweet, innocent mind. I quickly gobbled up the second book, [b:Sweet Possession|22071691|Sweet Possession (Sweet Addiction, #2)|J. Daniels|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1407799776s/22071691.jpg|41405978], and I was sad to say goodbye to the quirky cast of characters I’d grown so fond of. So when I found out that man crazy Brooke was getting her very own book, I was beyond excited. J. Daniels crossing over characters from her Alabama Summer series? It was just icing on the cake.
I’m Brooke Wicks, and I love sex. A lot of it. I don’t see any problem with my hit it and quit it philosophy. I’m doing what I want with the men I want to do it with. Period.
That pretty much sums up Brooke’s no muss, no fuss outlook on dating. She’s a grab-life-by-the-balls, take-no-prisoners kind of woman and it works for her. She has a job that she loves, great friends, confidence to spare, and regular – if not always memorable – sex.

If you’ve read [b:All I Want|25701833|All I Want (Alabama Summer, #2)|J. Daniels|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1433971945s/25701833.jpg|41958023] then you may remember Mason as Mia and Tessa’s super hot Aussie yoga instructor. When Mason moves from Alabama to Chicago, he opens his hot yoga studio across the street from the bakery where Brooke works. As soon as Brooke lays eyes on Mason’s fine physique, she wastes no time making her move. Operation Get Brooke Some is in full effect. I swear I could hear Hall and Oates’ “Maneater” playing in the background. I almost felt sorry for the man, but it turns out Mason has the willpower of a saint. Although he is incredibly attracted to Brooke, he doesn’t do meaningless sex anymore. Mason wants a chance to get to know her first.
“I could fuck you right now, up against this brick wall while anyone could walk by us. Would you like that? Would you come for me? It would be amazing, and I want that, I do, but my way, which involves feelings and knowing someone, trust me…it’s better. It’s so much better, Brooke. I want you to really feel me. I don’t just want a hard fuck in an alley and then nothing. I can’t do that.”
Mason convinces Brooke to try things his way. And, let’s face it, being Australian and with that accent – it’s kind of like her Kryptonite.
Do all Australians smell this good? Like sunshine and impending orgasms. Mercy.
It’s a bit of a power struggle throughout. As difficult as it is for him, Mason wants to slow things down, but Brooke is a little temptress who tries to race toward the sexual finish line at every turn.

J. Daniels has been known to write some really hot erotica (I’m looking at you, [b:When I Fall|25702203|When I Fall (Alabama Summer, #3)|J. Daniels|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1433972419s/25702203.jpg|42580399]), but with this book she turned up the heat 500º! Mason is such a nice guy but he is one filthy boy and his dirty talking skills are on point! It comes as no surprise that Brooke is naughty. Put the two of them together and you have some of the most explosive and creative – yes, creative – sex scenes I’ve encountered in recent memory. I’ve said it before. There’s an art to writing a good sex scene. J. Daniels is very skilled at writing highly erotic scenes and let’s just say she finds ways to be inventive so the reader is never bored.

Where the story falls short for me is in Brooke’s character development. The reason for her aversion to relationships is never explored. I know she likes sex but why does she sleep with so many men – and virtual strangers at that? When and how did it start? The subject isn’t addressed and her character lacks depth as a result. While Brooke is funny and sexually adventurous, she’s incredibly weepy. At times I wondered what made her so appealing to Mason. Mason, on the other hand, is the complete package in terms of book boyfriends. Perhaps he gets attached too easily, but he’s always honest with his feelings and when he loves, he loves with his whole heart.

This book can easily be read as a standalone, but fans of the series will be happy to know that Joey, Billy, and Dylan return as supporting characters. Tessa from the Alabama Summer series even turns up and makes a brief appearance.

The story is told from both Brooke’s and Mason’s points of view; however, my favorite chapter is the one told from Joey’s perspective. He’s always been a showstopper, scene-stealing character and this chapter gives him a chance to let his hilarious freak flag fly.

All in all, Sweet Obsession is a great addition to the Sweet Addiction series.

I love J. Daniels, her books are just *it* for me. They are the perfect blend of sweet, funny, sexy and full of characters I'm rooting for. I loved Brooke from the previous books so I have been looking forward to this and I wasn't disappointed. I was hooked from the very beginning, in fact I was full on laughing on page 1. We got to see a different side to Brooke, she's softer and vulnerable and it indeered me to her even more. Mason was just perfect and my new favorite J. Daniels hero (next to Ben, no one will ever top Ben). I loved everything about this, it was just perfect.
