Anne of Ingleside

I read this book as I never completed the series when I was a child. What happened to my beloved Anne who would have defied anyone who tried to make her change?! I understand that at that time many women didn't have careers as we now know them and there is absolutely nothing wrong with staying at home to raise children, but it feels as though the shift in Anne is too much. To have her mocking Diana for being the sweetest little homemaker to end in her becoming the very same felt unauthentic.

I will always to return to the earlier books as they defined my childhood and are my grown up comfort blanket but I think this may be resigned to the bookshelf.

books became less about Anne and more about her children

This book wasn't as good as the first one, but it was still really cute. I really liked hearing the stories of the Blythe children. They reminded me of my brothers and sisters.

I didn’t care for this book much as a kid, and sadly I still don’t care for it much now. What always makes Anne compelling to me is that she finds friendship in unlikely places and sees life as being beautiful. I wonder if the author was going through a rough patch while she wrote this book because it was extremely cynical. Not many kindred spirits here.

This covered some individual tales of Anne's children going on the same kinds of adventures she had as a child, and we saw some of her in her children. But there was also so much community gossip that I ended up skimming through many pages that rambled on about who had done this or that. I would have preferred way more time spent with Anne's children's and her relationships with them. Anne herself was very much all the things she didn't want to be when she grew up, so that is difficult and disappointing.

A true continuation of a classic, flawlessly transitioning into a more omniscient third person as we get toook into almost all 6 Blythe kiddos, the neighbors or Ingleside. Such a comfort series, love seeing our Anne all grown up and being the bestest mommy ever.

Acá termino mi participación en la serie. La verdad este libro es bastante malo comparado a lo anterior. Aunque conforme avanzan se van haciendo cada vez más flojos.

Hast siempre Ana
