I love a Christmas story and this one didn't disappoint! Charming!
It's a story about family, how we settle into expectations of loved ones and the roles we think they should fit into. There are secrets we keep so we won't appear weak, those we keep so we won't worry loved ones, and those we keep even from ourselves. This book sensitively deals with them all, but it's still romantic, warm, and funny.
I like that it's told from different perspectives. There are mother Maggie, and daughters Rosie and Katie, all trying to understand and come to grips with Katie's impulsive decision to marry after a whirlwind romance. Meanwhile both Maggie and Rosie have secrets they've hidden from family and which color their feelings about Rosie's actions.
The Colorado setting is perfect for a Christmas story, atmospheric with snow, fireplaces, and a beautiful lodge and gave the story a magical feel in parts. Well written, sensitive, and warm, A Wedding in December makes for a wonderful escape read.
Thanks to Netgalley and HQ for providing this ARC in return for an honest review.

A perfect Christmas read with lots of family drama, romance, and a happily-ever-after.
Fan of Christmas?
Sucker for a good romance?
Then A Wedding in December is the perfect book for you.
This is a light-hearted read filled with a fantastic mixture of love, lust and laughs.
A brilliant cast of characters that have a great dialogue with each other. It's like and episode of Eastenders in the snow.
If you're in need of a pick me up or just looking to curl up under a blanket with a good story, then I'm telling you to pick this novel.
Sarah Morgan has a clever way of making the reader really feel what's going on within the pages and believe me when I say that by the end I felt completely uplifted.
I'd love to read more books with these characters included. Perhaps Katie's story next?

Festive, feel good and a gorgeous setting to lose yourself in.
I loved the storyline, the characters and their back stories and how they all relate to each other and was rooting for all of them to have their happy ending.

Oh my goodness, this was wonderful!
A Wedding in December is told from the POV of the three White family women: mother Maggie and her two daughters Katie and Rosie. Rosie, the baby of the family who spent much of her childhood very sick and may have moved across the Atlantic partially to escape the eternal smother-style mothering Maggie and Katie tend to employ toward her, surprises everyone when she calls them in late November to say she's getting married. In Colorado. To a man they haven't yet met. On Christmas Eve. Yes, THIS Christmas Eve.
Any family would probably be a bit surprised, even concerned perhaps. Is it too soon? Will everything be ready on time? How can they help from so many miles away?
And yes, some of those concerns are what the elder White women are thinking. But this is a [a:Sarah Morgan|45898|Sarah Morgan|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1485947728p2/45898.jpg] book, so you know it's going to be more complicated than that! Maggie hasn't yet told her children that their father moved out months ago and they're planning on divorcing. (And of course *now* isn't the time to tell them, right? Just pause a moment and consider the hoops she might start jumping through to keep them in the dark--and then multiply by at least ten, because Sarah Morgan novel.) Katie, and ER doctor who was running on empty about ten months ago, had a hellish day at work several weeks past and just got through with a different kind of on-the-job difficulty minutes before taking her sister's call, is sure Rosie is moving too fast and buys her ticket to the States with the intention of stopping the wedding altogether. (Yes, she even admits this out loud to her flatmate. And amazingly, hearing it out loud doesn't make her reconsider. Yikes.)
Throw in one of the world's best (if slightly bossy and full of her own issues) future mothers-in-law, the (hopefully) future groom, his frustratingly loyal and gorgeous best friend (who knew the hefting-great-tree-trunks workout was so effective?) and of course, Mr. White himself, and you've got the makings of one heck of a story.
Add in a curious mountain lion, a blizzard, ONLY ONE BED (of course--I mean, you knew that already, didn't you?) and somebody's midmorning delight getting interrupted by--well, almost everybody in the book--and you know this is one book you're not going to be able to put down anytime soon.
I know I wasn't! And I haven't even mentioned the text message at about 94% that nearly had me in tears...
Verdict? A Wedding in December is one holiday book I am so glad I had the chance to read! I'll be counting the days until Ms Morgan gives us her next...

I read this in a few days because it was a fabulous Xmasy read .
This is the story of two sisters and their parents who all meet in Colorado for their youngest daughter’s whirlwind wedding at Christmas. The narrative moves between the 2 daughters and their mother and all 3 of them are carrying a secret. I loved the back story of the eldest daughter who is a doctor and the mothers’s view on building her family life and the breakdown of her marriage. The setting of snowy Colorado adds to the feel of Christmas and the other characters, the daughters fiancé, his mother and best man all capture the excitement of the impending wedding as well as drawing the family into a cosy life at Snowfell Lodge. I want to go there and stay in one of the tree houses Ultimately this easy going romance hooked me in straight away and kept me enchanted the whole way through.
If your looking for a xmassy feel book then snap this up for a binge read.
Another 5 star read.

This is my 3rd Sarah Morgan book that I’ve read within this last year. I’m slowly becoming more obsessed with her after each book that I read. I’m so mad at myself for being so busy and unmotivated this past week because it made me drag this sweet holiday read out more than I wanted to. Sarah Morgan has a way with words tying together family issues, romantic issues, and personal issues into one seamless novel. This one did have a bit of a predictable storyline. I made most of the predictions in the beginning of the book, but I enjoyed seeing the characters journey along the way. My favorite character was Rosie. I felt like she really grew up and came into her own during this book. Katie was really annoying to read about, but I understood where she was coming from. Maggie, the mom, was a relatable mom. She puts her life on hold to always do what’s best for her children. I know I’m a new mom, but I totally understand how she got to where she is when we meet her. Overall I really enjoyed this holiday read! If you haven’t read Sarah Morgan before and you like contemporary fiction, you need to give her a try!

I really liked this heart-felt, warm and toasty story about family, making new Christmas traditions and love in a beautiful snowy setting.
❄️
There are three love stories (1) mom/dad reconnections after being secretly separated for months, (2) youngest daughter Rosie who’s quickly marrying to a man she’s known a couple months, and (3) Katie, the older, hardworking daughter who doesn’t believe in love, but falls for the best man.
❄️
Although each love story was good, I really loved the parent’s reconnection. It was so sweet how mom, Maggie, began to open up to change (traditions , appearance, focus and direction), learn to be a woman, not just a mother, step back and allow her daughters to make their own choices, and add some spice in her marriage. So sweet, touching and relatable.
❄️
I’m glad this was the Christmas-y book I decided to read because honestly, I’d rather watch Christmas movies on Hallmark

This book starts off with the White family traveling to Aspen for a Christmas wedding. Each member of the White family has a secret that they’re hiding, and it all starts to come out during their trip. This will be one Christmas they’re sure to not forget.
I enjoyed reading this book, but it is not your typical “Christmas” read. It is more of a family drama book. I felt like it took me a little while to get into the book. In the beginning there was a lot of inner dialogue and getting to know the characters and their feelings. I did enjoy seeing how things played out, and I loved the ending. If you’re looking for more of a winter vs Christmas read, I would recommend this one!
