Wow! Daniela threw a tsunami of emotions to my face with this one.

I couldn't stop reading. From the first line the book traps your attention and never lets you go. I felt the terror Cecilia felt. The despair that followed, her giving up and accepting of what was left...
I was on high alert through most of it; the person who harmed Cecilia is still freely roaming the school halls, cornering her every change he gets. She still has no peace...

Until Gabriel comes along, a boy who sees her, a boy who belives her. He's hurting too, he couldn't save a person important to him, and he's not going to fail again!

The story had my heart racing and that prevented me from stopping to read.

Amazing story, the characters were impeccably written. The Savage exceeded all my expectations.

I can not wait get my hands The Striker to see how the story unfolds.

This book was not for me. I was expecting more of a romance, but that’s not what this book is at all. This is a book about trauma. If you have any triggers surrounding suicide or rape, do not read this. There are very graphic scenes. 90% of the book is about what happened to Cecilia (and its explicit), how she’s traumatized by it, how she tried to take her life because of it (very detailed), how her parents don’t know how to help her because they don’t know what happened, and how she is barely living. Another 5% of the book is about Gabe’s trauma and his brother’s suicide (also very graphic), and how his family has fallen apart because of it. Then the rest of the book is a romance between Gabe and Cecilia that felt forced and didn’t make very much sense. Maybe I wasn’t the right audience for this?

The Savage is the first book in the Boys of Richland series and cannot be read as a standalone.

Cecelia went through something traumatic, and it plagued her thoughts. Gabe had gone through something traumatic as well, at a younger age. But it was what he’d gone through that somewhat made him drawn to Cecelia.

This was so angsty and heartbreaking. Cecelia, wow. I was horrified at what happened to her, and I was so angry at the people around her. Her “friends” and the bullies (for lack of a better term so as not to give away spoilers).

Gabe was the sweetest angel. He cared. He cared so much, and he just wanted to help and protect Cecelia at all costs.

This was just an emotional rollercoaster and there’s no happy ending, yet. (It ends on a cliffhanger.)

Narrators: Ramona Masters and Noah B. Perez
Narration style: Dual

These two did a great job! Noah’s voice wasn’t exactly how I’d imagined Gabe to sound, but I didn’t mind. Ramona Masters put so much emotion into her performance, so she really brought Cecelia to life.

Emotional college romance read

I am so glad book 2 will be out soon!
Cecilia is a strong woman going through life feeling hopeless and helpless after she goes through significant traumatic events (check your triggers warnings!). Gabriel, is healing after losing his twin brother, and through Cecilia, finds his purpose and renewed outlook on life trying to keep her from making a terrible mistake.
This story automatically made me think of Brock Turner from Stanford and how an entitled brat with wealthy, well-connected parents thinks they can do whatever they want without consequence.
This story elicits feelings of rage, anger, and sadness toward the situation our FMC has faced and how, unfortunately, it it has happened to so many women.

Protect your feelings because they are about to get hit! Cecilia will break your heart. She is so much stronger than what she gives herself credit for. Gabe is all alpha with a big soft heart. Their story has ALL the feelings! But it does end on a cliff hanger, so Daniela, we will be needing the next book ASAP!!!!

2.5
This book was okay, I may have disliked both the main characters most of the time but there was potential!

Okay so I'll explain, the plot.. I liked! I liked Gabriel's friends and the whole found family dynamic. I liked the fact that Gabriel had been through this situation before and felt like he could save someone this time etc.

But I didn't like the actual characters, not together at least. Both of these characters are far too broken to be together or even attempt to be together.. and I have NEVER said that before. Gabriel is far too pushy and forceful, especially since he suspects what she's been through already. And her... See I forgot her name and I only finished reading it hours ago. Her, well she's just annoying tbh. But then there's also Gabriel's friends and how they "suspected" what she'd been through right down to the very last detail, like come on

This was my first time ready a put by this author. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This book has some major triggers so please read the warnings before reading this book. I loved this book it’s intense and addicting the perfect combination. Daniela Romero has covered these intense topics with grace. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

3.75⭐️ What a wild emotional ride. A whirlwind of emotions for sure.

This follows Cecilia and Gabriel who have a pretty crazy meeting. Gabriel saves her life and then has a savior complex over her for the rest of the book. I found bits and pieces to be weird & not make complete sense (bells ringing for college classes, no repercussions, & just the craziness of it all) but none of this took away from my enjoyment of the story. We get so many emotions from both characters. They care both extremely flawed but are able to open up with each other eventually. I loved the way Gabriel gave her space when she needed it after her attack & didn’t push in certain circumstances but did push in others. The spice scenes were decent, but again something maybe I didn’t find completely believable given what’s happened
