This book was such a bitter sweet ending to a fantastic trilogy. The Darkest Minds sucked me in, Never Fade broke my heart, and In The Afterlight gave me hope. This was a very satisfying conclusion to this trilogy. I felt like every lose end was tied up and all my questions answered. I love how the series did not end with the complete elimination of the "disease". Instead, they are working towards a future where the "infected" children are given the choice that has been denied them for so long. It showed that there are no easy fixes in life & that things often take time. I grew attached to these characters and they deserve a happy ending after everything they have been through. Ruby's final interaction with Clancy left me speechless. That was way more than he deserved but I am glad someone finally showed him some kindness. Great book, great trilogy, & I would definitely recommend it.

Oh my! I can't believe its over! No!
I love Liam. Ruby has grown so much. Oh & Zu... Can't really think clearly right now. What an intense journey. Recommend this whole series...

An absolutely wonderful conclusion to the Darkest Minds trilogy...the first 100 pages were a bit slow, but once the plot picked up, I couldn't put the book down! The ending was so beautiful, and all of the loose ends were tied up fantastically. I cannot recommend this series enough!!!

Fabulous ending to the trilogy. I shed tears, shared smiles, romantic moments were sweet, the camaraderie exciting and the baddies villainous.

I'd have liked to see Sam out and safe with her red and also our kids remaining together as sadly they're minors and subject to parents, again.

This I think was the best way this series could end, I know there is a companion novel bout Zu, there was so much action and twists in this book I was literally hooked to the point where I struggled to put it down! I had to know what was happening to ruby, chubs, Liam and zu! I may have been late to the game but this series is a must read!

An excellent conclusion to an excellent series.

Ruby and her friends have fled California leaving death and ruin behind them. At the new base for the Children's League they have to pull things back together, not least of which are the frayed relationships between them. And there's the cause of the IANN disease and the psionic powers, and the possibility of a cure to contend with as well, as well as the son of the president in their custody.

The conclusion is satisfying, but is really a conclusion to the action portion of the plot. There's the barest outlines of the society after this series here, and it would be nice (but unrealistic) to see how things would turn out from there. One of the more ironic things about the series is that after it's all over Ruby is still 17 and a minor ... after everything she's been through and seen, she's probably more mature than many of the adults around her.

There's room for a sequel here, and I'd like to see it, perhaps with some different characters.

So. Freaking. Good. SO FREAKING GOOD.
I don't agree with people saying In The Afterlight has Third-Book-Syndrome. I understand what they mean when they say it took them longer to finish it, cause i struggled with that too at first, but i don't think it makes it any less of a great book.
I think it had to do with the fact that this book is very heavy, and less funny and light than the other two. It deals with darker topics and it's full of angst and anger, but that just makes the last 200 pages the best payoff you could have ever wished for.
It's difficult to wrap up a trilogy, expecially a dystopian in which the world is in scrambles, without leaving readers perplexed, or a bit disappointed, but i feel In The Afterlight tied all the pieces together and gave us the best plausible solution to a crazy situation.

#THIS NOW GETS SPOLIERY, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED#

I've put so many page flags into this book i don't even know where to start with the favorite scenes.
There was the reunion with Zu (holy crap do i LOVE Zu), Liam and Ruby's makeout session in the pantry at the Ranch, Cole using his Red abilities, Ruby and Zu talking about their "bad place" and every single scene in the last 200 pages.
I loved how Vida and Ruby's relationship developed, and well as Ruby and Cole's and i even (kind of, not really) enjoyed the angst between Liam and Ruby (like, come on, just forgive each other already.)
Great character development, great plot, GREAT FINALE I LOVED THIS BOOK I'M SO SAD IT'S OVER.

I really liked this conclusion to an amazing series. I felt that it was different from the first book, but still good. I think there are follow up books, but I was really satisfied with the ending of this one so I don’t know if I will read them. All in all, I loved this book and the whole series.

Wow. The best ending i could ever have asked for. I adore every character in this book and it honestly is just such an amazing series! Ruby’s journey has come to an end but at least i can carry on with the last book on Zu’s journey. I’m really going to miss this series
