Wahhh, my heart and this book!!

Seven of Hearts follows Logan and Leah as they navigate life after their one night stand. Logan has spent his life thinking he has to be perfect - to make it to 30 without a single mistake to show his family that he appreciates everything they've done for him. To prove to the world that he's not a mistake, like his parents. Leah, Logan's little sister's best friend, has harbored a crush on Logan for years. Seeing him at her best friend's wedding - where she's feeling vulnerable, ends in a night she wasn't expecting. Ultimately - ending in a huge change of her life that she wasn't expecting.

As a recently converted pregnancy trope lover - this book DID it for me! The saying, if he wanted to he would, is the entirety of Logan's personality. At no point does he blame Leah, he steps up the second he finds out it his, upheaves his "perfect" life for the girl he never thought he could have.

Honestly, the best part of this book was watching Logan and Leah fall in love. As friends first and then something more. Navigating this life and surprise in the best possible way. This story is so heartwarming and the found family is something everyone dreams of. It takes a village is the perfect way to describe Logan and Leah and I love that for them!!

Thank you so much to The Author's Agency and Maggie Gates for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

My initial thoughts once I finished the book: this couple deserves all the happiness in the world!

Logan and Leah's story pretty much start with a one-night stand. It was supposed to be a fantasy coming true, just one night without anybody knowing. But life had other plans, and said plans came back with a positive pregnancy test.

I'll be honest, I felt that this story was moving too fast and I couldn't find myself fully invested up until 20% of the book. But then I just couldn't stop reading until I finished it.

Logan and Leah's story is sweet, emotional, real.

Whenever we read the pregnancy trope, it tends to be this beautiful and amazing experience. In reality, this isn't always the case—and Maggie shows us exactly this. How challenging this whole experience can be; the fears, the changes the body goes through, the anxiety, and overall how hard it can truly be.

Logan's character growth is just incredible! He went from this man who's focused on living by himself, with this pressure on his shoulders that he absolutely cannot make a single mistake in life, to someone who wants it all with the woman he's in love with. To have a family of his own, and dedicating his life to them. Yeah, this man definitely made me swoon.
He's a protector, he's caring, he's it.

Leah is amazing, and she deserves everything! The way some people treated her made me see red, so knowing she had this beautiful support system, and this wonderful man by her side put genuine smile on my face.

It was so wholesome to see both Logan and Leah navigating through this new reality. All the small moments and sweet gestures truly warmed my heart. I love them.

I really enjoyed Maggie's writing, this was my first book by this author, and it won't be my last.

P.S.: I did feel a bit overwhelmed with so many characters present, so even though this book can be read as a standalone, I think it's worth reading Beaufort Poker Club series prior for a better experience.

An accidental pregnancy after a one night stand with your secret childhood crush that happens to be your sister’s best friend while you are trying not to mess up the order in your life…oh boy does Logan have a road ahead. And what a joy it was to read his growth! I adored the pacing and the plot, the family dynamics and their advice, the poker references, and the spicy romance. I loved the first person dual PoV from Leah and Logan…I found myself craving Logan’s chapters. It was so refreshing to read about his evolution to parenthood and his love for Leah-he is what all men should all aspire to be in partner during a pregnancy. Such a beautiful, heartwarming romance, I had some tears flowing with this one!
I had the opportunity to read early thanks to the author and The Author Agency. My thoughts are honest and voluntary.

I don’t think I’ve flown through an ARC so quickly. I’ve loved every book by Maggie that I’ve read but this one just took first place and healed apart of my soul. Logan and Leah have known eachother most of their lives but they have always been off limits. After promising eachother just one night, they realize they both might want more but continue to put it on the back burner. Leah doesn’t want to derail Logan and his plans before 30, and Logan because he doesn’t think he deserves better. When they finally get out of their own way and realized they have something good when they always choose eachother and their family of 3 first. Thank you Maggie for writing such a beautiful story and thank you to the author agency for letting me have an ARC 🤍

“Being a good man doesn’t mean being a man who never makes mistakes.”

This was a super fun and light-hearted read that touched some very deep topics, and I absolutely loved how real the characters and the story felt.

After falling pregnant from a ONS with her best friend's brother on the night of her wedding, Leah decides to keep the identity of the father a secret thinking that they could never have a real relationship, and she also doesn't want to risk losing her best friend. Months later, Logan finds out Leah is pregnant, does the math, and goes to ask her if the baby is his.

One of my favorite things in this story was how real and different from other books Logan's initial reaction was. The man went into full panic attack mode and literally walked away without saying a word. But rest assured, this reaction does not take away from how absolutely committed and caring he was during the rest of the pregnancy. Logan has got to be one of my fave MMCs to date, with the way that he always put Leah first, and how, even before the baby was born, he was always thinking about how he wanted to set a good example of how a man should treat the woman he loves.

Another trope I really enjoy reading is found family, and the author did a fantastic job with it in this book. Not only that, but she also showed how all families are different, and while some rifts can be mended, others are way past the point of no return.

Quote: “You wanna know why I’m staring? Because it doesn’t matter if I’m drunk off my ass or sober as a judge. You are, hands-down, the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen.”

This is my first read from this author and Ahh Leah and Logan are swoony.
This story had me addicted right from the start I very much devoured this story and wanted more from the Solomon family. Highly recommended

I ADORED THIS BOOK. OMG - I actually think that this might be one of my favourite accidental pregnancy books I've read. I love this trope and this book is HEAVY on the pregnancy, and I ate this uppppp! I understand that Logan was a side character in a previous series of Maggie's (which I have not read) but she did a brilliant job of recapping that series. This book can (and was) read as a complete stand alone. It has definitely made me want to go back and devour that series, though.

I love Maggie's writing, and the fact that it is realistic and raw. She doesn't shy away from the realities of some situations and the way Leah and Logan's story unfolded was no different. Seeing Leah's journey throughout her pregnancy made me feel so validated. She struggled physically and emotionally and I loved that Maggie wrote it like this. Pregnancy isn't all beautiful, round bumps and rainbows --that shit is HARD. Logan loved her through it; his care taking skills are unmatched. He was so strong, never wavering and he gave Leah the strength that she needed. She had her moments of irrationality, what pregnant woman doesn't but the way that Logan was there to reassure her every step of the way was wonderful.

I really admired both of these characters. Logan was so grumpy, and I loved his dry sense of humour and the banter between him and Leah; they were such a great match honestly. They bought out the best in each other. Their chemistry poured off the page and I loved the intimacy between them.

The found family vibes in this book were absolutely epic; the scenes between Logan and Will, honestly chef's kiss. I teared up multiple times! The epilogues were beautiful and I just loved the journey Leah and Logan went on together; they showed each other that they were so worthy, of each other AND a beautiful life.
