My first book by this author and I definitely need to go back and read the Poker Club series.

Logan and Leah have always known each other, but she has been off limits as his sister’s best friend. At Kylie’s (his sister) wedding reception, Logan and Leah have what they think will only be one night of fun, but turns into an accidental pregnancy.

I love how this story progressed. As soon as Logan found out about the pregnancy, he was all in with her. It had always been Leah for him. He didn’t have great parents as role models, but he was determined to do better with their child. Logan’s bond with Will is so sweet. Will is technically his brother-in-law, but acts more like a father.

Leah’s pregnancy progresses throughout this story. It was nice to all the emotions that go along with it. It’s not all sunshine and roses. LOL

Thank you to the author and The Author Agency for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Slowly making my way through Maggie Gates' backlog and while I haven't read the Beaufort Poker Club series I feel like Maggie did a great job explaining character backstories so this can read perfectly as a standalone. I have read the Griffith Brothers series by Maggie and I was so excited to be picked as an arc reader for this book!

It took a minute for me to become invested because I felt like things were moving too fast between the MC's Leah and Logan, but once I hit the 20% mark I was all in and I was not going back. I had a lot of fun being back in a world written by Maggie and I can't wait to go and read BPC because I need to experience this family again. I loved the family dynamic and how supportive and there for each other they were. I also laughed so much and shed multiple tears. The complicated parental relationships I think were written well and I have so much empathy for both Leah and Logan.

Logan is so DOWN BAD for Leah and I often found myself screaming and kicking my feet because you can just fell how much he loves her, and how hard he loves his family. Leah deserves the world and I'm so glad her parents came around and changed for the better. Logan's parents on the other hand--kick rocks!!

This book is perfect for you if you love:
Accidental Pregnancy
Best Friend’s Brother
Found Family
Small Town Romance
"Its always been you"

Maggie Gates never fails me and I love her writing so much.

Seven of Hearts is a standalone small town romance by Maggie Gates and it is such a beautiful story.
Logan Solomon is a man on a mission not to screw up before he turns 30. Leah Holloway is vibrant, colorful, and full of life - all things Logan didn’t know he was missing.
I’m not typically the biggest fan of surprise pregnancy tropes but if they were all executed as well as Maggie does in Seven of Hearts I would be a convert. The circumstances that lead to the surprise pregnancy feel very authentic. Maggie does a phenomenal job of navigating the emotions and anxiety that come about with an unplanned pregnancy. It was an honor to watch Logan and Leah grow both as people and together as a couple and eventually mom and dad. I would definitely recommend this precious story to any small town romance lover even if you are typically on the fence when it comes to surprise pregnancies.

I feel like if there was a second dedication it would have said “To the mothers out there, yall deserve to be seen.”

I LOVE a pregnancy trope—sue me. But I don’t know that I’ve read one that is so relatable as far as symptoms and things you experience while being pregnant. This was so incredibly relatable!

I literally couldn’t put this down, I finished it in one go, which is the usual MO for me when I’m reading a Maggie book.

Logan is so dreamy, every woman deserves a man like Logan. The familial aspect sunk me HARDDDDD. It had me wishing for a sibling for the banter, and for a found family aspect.

I would read this all freaking day. ALL the stars

I finished this book in a day. It's such a beautifully written love story that just tugged my heart and made me feel all the feels. I think even though the story revolved around the main characters Logan and Leah, it's ultimately a heartwarming story of what it means to have a family you were born into and a family you create. There are so many tear inducing moments in this book but for me, it's always ones that involve Will. I have not read any of the books in the Poker Club series where this book is a spin off of but I will definitely now. Logan's family is amazing. They've been through a lot together and their relationship was truly special. I love Leah's character and how she wasnt afraid to be vulnerable. The book reminded me that sometimes the unplanned moments turns up being the catalyst to get you to your planned path all along. You just have to be brave to go along for the journey.

Overall, I loved the book and will highly recommend. Just wished it had more happy moments and chapters after baby.

Thank you to the Author Agency for the advanced copy in ecxchange for my thoughts.

I just finished this ARC in just a handful of hours and let me tell you I had tears in my eye from the ending! This book had so many moments that felt like a big comforting hug by the person you care about the  most.

I loved watching Leah and Logan learn more about each other and fall in love. The way Logan loves taking care of Leah is my weakness! These two were obviously perfect for each other from the start. Leah was the sunshine Logan needed in his life.

The found family that this family created around them after horrible circumstances was so uplifting. The characters were so real, raw and complex. The relationship between Logan and Will just made my heart burst.

I can’t wait to see what more comes out of Maggie Gates’ extraordinary brain.

Thank you, Maggie Gates and The Author Agency, for the ARC of this book.

Being a devoted reader of MG now, I can buy her book blindfolded, I HAVE, I'd know for certainty that I'd be thoroughly OBSESSED by the time I finish it. And I was RIGHT!!. Logan Solomon is stuff IDEAL boyfriends are made of
Compassionate, loyal to a fault and driven. This need to NOT be his criminal father drives him to work hard and not play at all. He wants a secure life, steady job with working for his brother-in-law who he looks up to and emulate every step of the way

“Being a good man doesn’t mean being a man who never makes mistakes. It’s about the kind of man you become when you do make one. I still think you’re a good man, Logan. In all the years we’ve been in each other’s lives, there’s never been a moment that I’ve doubted it. And if my opinion counts for anything, I’m not so sure this is a mistake.”

Will's opinion is EVERYTHING Logan craves for. A nod of approval, a grim line of compliment, his hand on his shoulder for support. All big As in Logan's report card of life.
Everyone should have a will in their life.
Omg he just won me over.

"there was a difference between being a clever man and being a wise one. My dad was a clever man, and it had landed him in prison. But the man I credited with raising me was wise. And that made all the difference. "

His sisters best friend of Childhood- Leah Holloway has pined for this Golden Retriever all her life. Yet a drunken night is what seals their fate together in neat two pink lines.
Logan steps up, Leah is overwhelmed, but yanno what?

"Logan Solomon had been the one I had always wanted, the one who got away, and the one I could never have. "

Life has a strange way of working itself out.it does. In spades. The whole Solomon family bands around them like protective circles of security nobody can penetrate. Not her judgemental mom. Not his crooks of parents. Not the biases or prejudices.
A sweet as popsicle kind of a story, almost too perfect. There aren't any sudden twists and turns. Smooth flow to a well deserved HEA
