Just thought this was a little too mushy. I couldn't get past the obnoxious inner monologues where the characters constantly told themselves they weren't good enough. Also Megan's daughter Emily is just a crutch for the plot with no discernible character traits. Not my favorite. A real bummer because I really, really liked the other I-team book I read.

3.5 ★, rounded up. This is the first Pamela Clare book I read and I really wanted to LOVE it. It started out fine, but I ended up not liking Megan so much. I really think it's possible to turn your life around and start over, but she seemed too innocent and soft, given her background. It just didn't sit right with me. Nate was more believable. A strong, but wounded soul.

As usual, anything related to [a:Pamela Clare|92650|Pamela Clare|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1259961877p2/92650.jpg]'s I-Team is a winner.

Thought after reading :
Pamela Clare, you will always be my favorite author.
That's a truth.
And when I see you write the dedication of this book for I-Team fans, I don't know if I can't love you more.
But that's the truth
I don't know if I want to write full reviews, maybe later. There many wonderful I-Team fans such like Lady Jayne, Auntee, Shawna, Annie and others that also wrote wonderful reviews.
For readers who not read I- Team series yet, what are you waiting for? The series that full of suspense, romance, action, steamy scene but also bring tears to your eyes, discuss so many humanity concern is a series that can't be missed.

UPDATE : I won this!! Thank you, Pamela! :D :D
An I - Team Novella which featuring Megan Hunter, Marc Hunter's sister from Unlawful Contact.
Do it mean more (my everlasting love) Marc Hunter? :D :D

*4.5* I really like this one! The h wounded deeply on the inside, the H on the outside, but together they made such a beautiful couple. These two deserved a full length book. This story is m/f, recovering single mom/wounded warrior. I don't know that I've ever read a heroine who had been through so much trauma in her life. It has to be really difficult to make a leading lady recover in a way that feels genuine and healthy. This one worked!
Nate was the perfect hero. A former Marine, with a gentle side. He and his father Jack were so kind to Megan and her four-year-old daughter.

Megan had survived I LOVE the relationship she has with her brother and the other H's from the previous books. The little bonus story with all the men was perfect.

multiple rapes as a teenager in a juvenile detention facility, and then when she was released became addicted to drugs and was abused by a horrible man. She became pregnant, cleaned herself up, then shot her original abuser, had her child taken away, and eventually served time in prison. All of this was detailed in [b:Unlawful Contact|2771105|Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3)|Pamela Clare|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1442787360l/2771105._SY75_.jpg|2796834]ccgwalt's review against another edition

This is an entertaining novella about Megan, Marc Hunter's sister ([b:Unlawful Contact|2771105|Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3)|Pamela Clare|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1311279848s/2771105.jpg|2796834]), and Nate, a scarred former Marine. The shorter length does not allow for much character development, so Nate wasn't nearly as interesting as he could have been. With the extent of his injuries and the horror of the explosion that caused them, I can't imagine he wouldn't have at least some PTSD symptoms. That might have been an interesting angle to consider. As it was, Megan is the one with PTSD from her trauma as a teen. The story was a little too heartwarming for me, but was still enjoyable.
I was a little disappointed in the short story about Marc and Julian's beer run. I was expecting something humorous with some snappy dialogue between those guys, but instead got an interesting little action story. It was good, but I was expecting something very different.

I bought this not knowing it was a novella or part of a series-oops-but I really enjoyed it. Nate is physically scarred and Megan is emotionally scarred. The two meet because of a douche from Megan's past and are instantly attracted to each other. I liked that despite this being a novella the romance didn't feel rushed. Obviously, I would have loved if this was a full length novel which means I'll be reading [b:Extreme Exposure|159767|Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1)|Pamela Clare|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1290456764s/159767.jpg|154204] as soon as I can get my hands on it :)
