Coming off a breakup, college football star Zach engages in a flirtation with his geeky tutor, Jenna. As real feelings begin to develop between them, Jenna worries she's just a rebound. Can they let go of their insecurities and let love in?

Zach starts off seeming pretty shallow, but he reveals hidden depths as the novel progresses. In the end, this was a charming story and more complex than I first expected. It's sweet and heartwarming with touches of humor—overall, a fun read.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

The End Run is the second book following the happy ending of Dylan and Emily in Stalling for Time. This book could very well pass as standalone because the first few pages basically gives us a rundown of what went down in the first book from Zach’s perspective. It’s Zach’s and Jenna’s story from there on. I was especially intrigued to know how Zach, with a very self centered and misogynistic personality is going to anchor this story as a main character. But I guess Jenna takes that responsibility here. Loved her sassy and unapologetic self. Zach still didn’t win me over like I hoped to. Yes he has a redeeming arc but I still found myself more amused with Jenna than him. Yet another sweet love story with humor and a bit of drama.

The End Run is the second book in the Kiss and Tell Series. I enjoyed this book more than I enjoyed the first one. I loved that we got to see the story from Zach’s point of view on events that happened in book one and the chemistry between Zach and Jenna was really cute. Zach’s growth throughout the book was also really great to read!
Sort of enemies to lovers romance, super cute and easy read!

For sure would recommend if you’ve read the first book!

This is the second book in the Kiss and Tell Series but can be read as a stand alone. The book starts with Zach's side of his break up with Emily. The story continues with Zach's love hate relationship with his statistics tutor Jenna. I liked their banter and chemistry. Jenna is her true self and brings out the best in the at times egotistical Zach.

I received an eARC from netgalley but all opinions are my own.

I had a difficult time getting into this book. I found the characters unlikeable and the writing strange. But around the middle the story really grew on me.

I loved the story in the end. I found that the characters had great chemistry and the way their relationship begun was very sweet.

I gave this book three stars because it took me until 20% to enjoy this book.

In Stalling For Time, (book 1) I HATED Emily's boyfriend Zach, he is arrogant, self centered, chauvinistic and just awful.

He should have been named Chad.

So to say I wasn't excited about his starring in The End Run is an understatement. And folks his personality got even worse. He's manipulative, needy and gaslights the females in his life. Nasty. Yet somehow I was engrossed and fluctuated between wanting to throat punch a fictional character and rooting for the fledgling romance. I even found myself crying in sympathy at one point, which I definitely did not see coming.

Although this book was cheesy in some aspects, others were the opposite of cheesy.
Your handsome athlete, Zach, isn’t sleeping around with every girl on campus. The main female character, Jenna, isn’t the super pretty shy girl that needs constant reassurance on her looks.
Golden boy, Zach Chamberlain, isn’t the first jock Jenna Peterson’s tutored with cover-boy good looks, and he won’t be the last. When Zach’s storybook life begins to unravel, Jenna discovers he’s more than just a gifted athlete with a pretty face. A sprig of mistletoe and a searing kiss pits the playmaker against the rule maker. When secrets are revealed and the game is on the line, will they follow the game plan, improvise, or make an end run around their hearts?
I liked that the characters had development, there was an evolution in which we learned more about Jenna and Zach. They have some depth.
Were there super cheesy parts? Of course, but what is romance without a bit of cheesiness?
Was I sometimes annoyed by how immature they acted? Hell yes.
One thing I truly hated though, is that in some part of this book she was described as a rebound because she’s not as pretty as his ex and he won’t be able to fall for someone like her? What about the inside??
But if you overcome that and read further it does get better. I think this book has some good lessons as well as how it’s okay to fear something as long as it doesn’t lead your life and how winning isn’t always necessary.
So over all I give this book 3,5 stars and I liked it. It’s not my favorite book of all times, but it’s a nice fast read romance novel.

This book follows Zach in the aftermath of his breakup with Emily in the previous book. Jenna is hired to tutor Zach, just one of many jocks she has tutored. But as they get to know each other more, they develop feelings for each other.

I think I liked The End Run a bit more than Stalling For Time, since the plot is a bit more simple and less convoluted, and the emotions the characters go through are more relatable. I think for this series, less is more. I also enjoy the trope of the smart wallflower and the popular jock, so even just the set-up of this book worked a lot better for me.

The End Run follow's Zach, a college football star, after his break up from his girlfriend of 5 years, Emily. Not only did they break up, but Emily is now with Dylan, Zach's brother. The first 30% of the book is basically the same as the last half of the first book, Staling For Time, but from Zach's perspective. This really makes it a stand alone which is great for readers who have not yet read the first book. For me personally, I found it a little bit redundant since I recently read Stalling For Time. But, if I had read Stalling For Time a while ago, I definitely would have appreciated this review of the previous book a bit more. Anyhow, the main focus is on Zach's friendship with his statistics tutor, Jenna. She was my favorite character because she was unapologetically herself. I love how her character was written and how we really got to look inside of her head. Jenna for the win! I loved how this book ended and I'm looking forward to the novella where Zach/Jenna and Dylan/Emily spend a weekend together. OYE!

I have to be honest and say Zach isn't my favorite person in these books. He's a little full of himself.

But I still enjoyed this because of Jenna. Jenna is a no nonsense girl. She doesn't take Zach's crap. I did like the part of them pretending to date because I just like that trope... Even if the pretending was short lived.
I just love that she called him on stuff. I felt that she brought him more down to earth.

In the end, I'm glad that they got together and that they are actually a very cute couple at the end.
