I think the reason Falling Together struck me so strongly is there are poignant moments of discovery in what love is supposed to be, what it should be - at it's greatest moments - but mainly, this novel shows what it means to love someone enough to hold onto them, even after you feel they're lost to you.
Not a "romance" novel by any means (that is, there is an obvious lack of Fabio and chiseled chests), Falling Together presents readers with a memorable love story. Even disregarding the romantic aspects, there is a love residing between the characters in the story that makes you want to reach out and hold on to it, in a belief that you can and have felt a friendship as strong or meaningful.

Just less than half of this book is spent getting to know the main characters which is usually a tedious thing. But Marisa de Los Santos's writing is so smart and witty that I never grew bored. The internal thoughts and dialog between the characters is fantastic. (I particularly liked the character Pen.) This is the reason I wish I could've given this book a half star more. The story itself is a bit on the predictable side but I'd still recommend it as an enjoyable light read & am rather glad I won this via first reads.

I had a hard time focusing on this book. Maybe I should have read it instead of listening to the audiobook.

I couldn’t even get through this book. Started off strong and just started rambling on and on

i wasn't able to get into this book. I was a fan of her other books, but this one didn't capture me as the others did. I would recommend her other titles before I would recommend this one.

I picked it up around 11pm and read until 2am. The story isn't unusual (three friends go their separate ways and resolve not to get in touch with each other one of them asks for help and brings them back into each other's lives) but it's told beautifully and watch their realizations unfold.

I always forget how much I like de los Santos as a writer. It isn't the plot or the narrative, it's in the characters and tone.

I've enjoyed Marisa de los Santos' other books, probably a bit more than this one. I don't know what was missing...it just didn't have the same charm as the others. Pen was pretty dense at times. All that lead up to get to Cat and there's barely any storyline with her in it. I know the purpose of the story wasn't really about Cat herself, but how everyone reacted to her, but I couldn't help but feel a bit cheated.
Seeing Pen and Will's relationships with James evolve, and James' enjoyment of Pen's daughter were probably the most interesting parts of the book.
Also, the ending frustrated me royally...them coming back all happy from the Philippines felt like it should be the end, but nooo, we have to have some added drama over something so minor just to make a point. I mean, really, Pen? How old are you? Get a grip. Those last fifteen pages kind of sunk into soap territory, drama for the sake of drama.
I'll still read books from this author in the future, I just hope they have a bit more pizazz from now on.

I found the characters to be extremely annoying and very difficult to like. I especially disliked the treatment of Jason by the three main characters.
I've read de los Santos' other books and really enjoyed them. This one was very hard for me to get into and even more hard for me to enjoy.
