Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 3 in the Sawyer’s Ferry series. You don’t NEED to have read the other books, but I think you should. Not least because they are 4 and 5 stars from me, but they are really REALLY good!
Frankie is Holden’s best friend. He worked for Holden’s father. When the senior Prescott was arrested, his job went down the pan with the company. Now his cousin needs him out for the new baby, and he has no job. Holden calls him to Alaska to plan his wedding to Gage. In two freaking months! Meeting the mess that is at Cooper Creek brewery send him a little in to panic mode but working with Barrett has its benefits. The man is a magnet to Frankie. Barrett also is attracted to Frankie. But Jackson will leave in two months, and Barrett has to live in Sawyer’s Ferry.
This was a FUN read, but so so good!
Frankie is unique and makes no bones about it. He’s loud, and proud. Barrett, however, is not. Barrett is just trying to keep his business afloat after his assistant left. He can’t manage the business and the paperwork, and he feels like he is drowning in his beer. Frankie walks into his office and Barrett’s life will never be the same again!
What I particularly LOVED about this one was, while Barrett has immediate attraction to Frankie, he doesn’t act on it. And then the news that Barrett had been married, to a woman, comes out. And Barrett is not AT ALL questioning his attraction to Frankie. What he questions is whether he can KEEP Frankie. There is NO, not a single line, about him wondering if he’s gay, or bi, or has been in the closet forever. He just WANTS Frankie, and that Frankie is a man, is totally irrelevant. Loved that!
It is a much lighter read than books one and two, and I loved that it was. Neither Frankie nor Barrett have any deep dark secrets, or major trauma, but Barrett’s wife did leave him. There is no violence, unless you count what Frankie wanted to do to the woman who had been sharing Barrett’s bed in Juneau (is that spelt right?)
It’s sexy, oh yes ma’am it is! Frankie is a Master at the innuendo, and he makes Barrett squirm a lot! But Frankie knows what he wants, he knows what Barrett wants, even if he doesn’t say the words, and Frankie is nothing if not determined!
I loved Frankie’s reaction to Barrett’s declaration of love, I really did. Not gonna say what he does, but it made me laugh so much!
Some stunning scenery described here and why Holden and Gage chooses a bloody BARN over the lighthouse I will never know, (even if it was Logan’s refitted space!) but I loved what Barrett did there in the epilogue.
Are there any more planned? I have the short that comes between one and two to read, and the Christmas special that Holden plans for Gage, but are there any more MAIN books planned?? I hope so! Thoroughly enjoying these stories, and hope they continue!
5 full and shiny stars

I really enjoyed this book, we first met Frankie in the first book, as Holden’s best friend and Holden’s father’s executive assistant, since the arrest of his boss Frankie has been suffering, unable to find work, almost homeless. A lifeline comes in the offer of organising Holden and Gage’s wedding, so despite his protests and misgivings he flies to Alaska, where he meets Barrett, the owner of the local brewery who is in desperate need of Frankie’s organisational skills. Barrett has never seen anyone like Frankie and to read about the flirtatious dance that these two do, to get to their HEA was most of the fun.
This is a series that gets better and better with each book. The characters in this books are many sided and shows that opposites do attract. It is well written and worth reading but I would encourage reading in order to get the full benefit of the world that encompasses Sawyer’s Ferry as characters from each of the books makes appearances.

Oh that was just beautiful, not perfect and less good than I had hoped, but for the ending alone .... I am still swaying, that was so cute and romantic.
Frankie, as expected, was a very captivating personality. I would have liked to see a bit more of him, a bit more of his artistic side and style.

He was always beautiful, even with bed head and morning breath, but when he was dressed and his hair was perfectly styled, wearing just a hint of eyeliner and lip gloss, his demeanor changed. He stood up taller, his back straighter, and there was a fluidity to the way he moved. I liked seeing that transformation, from a subdued, relaxed brat, to a ready-to-take-on-the-world pain in the ass.

Pretty much exactly what I'd expect from this series. Light, a little unrealistic, uncomplicated fun.

This is an excellent continuation to what has become a favourite series. I love the small town feel of Sawyers Ferry. The environment lends itself to the fish out of water trope and, even more so than the first book, this trope is in full effect here with Frankie, Holden's fab-u-lous friend from NY, arriving in Sawyers Ferry to organise Holden and Gage's wedding. Once there he meets Barrett, a closeted bisexual who has never acted on his attraction to men. The writing is solid and the plot follows a similar line to the previous books in the series, but that familiarity of plot is one of the things I love about these books. Also the characters are great, well rounded and flawed but likeable.
Highly recommended, along with all the other books in the series.

I really liked Frankie. He was just so unabashedly himself I just loved that.
Barrett was a great compliment to Frankie's full color loud personality.
Overall it's a great addition to this series.

This was my first time reading a Sawyer's Ferry book and I though Frankie was hilarious and caring, with a whole lot of sass thrown in. And the first time Barrett spotted him made me smile. The characters in the book are wonderful, especially Holden and Gage and their wedding. The connection between the two men was palpable, yet there isn't really a promise of what is going to happen to the two men at the end, it's left a little open ended. All in all, it's a lovely story with funny and realistic characters and a wonderful setting!!

I saw all the amazing reviews for this and thought it would be a slam dunk but I hated the beginning so
