I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

raises handI am very much an introvert, so I couldn’t resist this book. I had to click that Read Now button. I was very much curious to see what kind things this one would give as a way of escaping.

There are various chapters each one dealing with a certain topic. Friends, relatives, co-workers to acquaintances and more. With each chapter we get scenarios that were just oh oh so true (really, I was nodding along) and what kind of things an introvert may do to escape, let people know they don’t want to in a subtle way, tips for conversations which I do want to try myself though I kind of worry it will backfire for instance the ask questions that take long answers.. I can see that end up in a discussion of never endingness, and more. I had quite a laugh, but I was also noting down several of the nicer ways in my head. I think I can use some of these tips/excuses.

Delightful and filled with both practical and preposterous suggestions to help us introverts get back to what we love doing most: reading and being alone!

'The Escape Manual for Introverts' by Katie Vaz is an ebook filled with strategies for introverts in different social situations.

The book is broken up in sections based on the proximity of relationships to the reader, starting with friends and relatives and moving to strangers. A variety of possibly uncomfortable social situations are then presented, like a trivia night or a dinner party. Then the reader is given a series of excuses, some which seem plausible and some which seem pretty thin (but are funny).

It reads pretty quickly. It seems that most introverts have their own coping skills. I know I do. Maybe the book is supposed to be funny in pointing out how lame my excuses sound. It's amusing.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

"Just because I don't want to go doesn't mean I don't like you."

Oh, how truer words have never been spoken. I want this to be on a little card I can slip over to friends and family while politely denying their invitations to huge gatherings. "That'll be a big, huge, gigantic no from me, but thanks for the invite! xoxox"

The Escape Manual is a funny little graphic novel that'll easily win over any introvert with its clever (and sometimes slightly absurd) excuses to avoid social interactions. The art is also beautifully done and so dang cute! I loved it.

I recommend to all of my fellow introverts. Enjoy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with a copy of this title in exchange for honest feedback.

"Hire a kidnapper. Keep them on speed dial." dude, you have no idea how much this made me laugh!

The Escape Manual for Introverts is oh so humorous. Of course, some of the tips were a bit much, but it was a fun and distracting book. Any introvert would enjoy reading this and will love the illustrations. I am always looking for ways to get out of situations and I wrote down a couple of ideas from this graphic novel. Very creative and unique.

So far, chapter 5: Strangers; How to impede unnecessary interaction with people you don't know, is my favorite chapter.

This book is an amusing compilation of comedic drawings paired with excuses and tricks to get introverts out of social situations when you would much rather recharge your introverts batteries at home a bit. Many readers are introverts, as am I, and so this was a fun manual to come across. The Escape Manual for Introverts did have some good, clever tricks and some down right silly ones thrown in for fun. The advice is broken down by chapters for the different relationships you may have to the people you may need too use these tips on. Friends, acquaintances, family members, coworkers, and strangers. There were several examples in each chapters to cover a wide variety of situations. But I will say that some of the advice did become repetitive throughout the chapters, but they also warranted being repeated because some of the tips that could work on acquaintances could also work on strangers or coworkers. And tips for friends could also work for family members and vice versa.
Overall this was a fun and amusing guide for introverts to come across, plus it's a very quick read.

I received a copy of this book from Andrews McMeel Publishing via NetGalley, this is my honest review.

This book is hilariously delightful. I giggled throughout the book and was honestly inspired by some of the tips given. I can't wait to use the phone call and workplace options in particular. I also enjoyed when some excuses mentioned were ones that I had used personally to great success. The art and lettering in the manual were cute and the overall read was a cozy, feel good time. I'd definitely recommend to others.
Thank you Andrews McMeel Publishing and Katie Vaz for offering an ARC in return for an honest review.

This was absolutely fantastic. I loved all the illustrations that were on each page. And the advice was pretty solid too. It was a quick read but despite that, I really enjoyed reading it.
