Not realistic at all, but if you can overlook that it's a quite engaging read.

Plot was pretty decent, and the narration was good, keeping the pages turning.
The protagonist Jake Reacher is just another Hollywood style hero with easy going tough guy attitude. Like every hero he gets away from murders and crimes which is kinds frustrating.
Ignoring logical errors, would make this book a decent read.
But few logical errors are frustrating like,
Jack trust the Chief of detectives Finlay because the mayor hired him thinking he is an idiot (since he needed an idiot). But it was later revealed Finlay's friend Picard is also involved in the crime. Upon knowing Finaly is being interviewed for the CoD post, he had warned his friend to stay clear of the town. But Finlay ignored his friend and get interviewed and got the post. So, the problem is the Antagonist gang require an idiot as CoD so their crimes would be overlooked. Wouldn't Picard have told the major that Finlay is his friend and an intelligent Harvard guy? avoiding their crimes being exposed?  And some crazy coincidence, the hero is travelling all around the America and he happens to "walk" by a place where his brother who he hasn't seen for 10 years is killed and to top that the hero is being charged for the same murder! </spolier>
The series being 20+ books, now having second thoughts about continuing the series.

My third reread of the first Jack Reacher novel.
It had been some years and I loved it all the same. There were little details I had forgotten and some I remembered. I am an action junkie and absolutely love the wild rides Lee Child takes me on with his Reacher novels. And let’s face it… Who doesn’t want to be enthralled by a 6’5” 230lb man made of pure muscle and *talent*?!

Unclecore supreme. There is a mess of overcooked setup but I can forgive it some wearying tablesetting: clearly Lee Child wanted us to get to know the town, the core team, personal dynamics etc. because he was setting out to write a longass series of airport novels about an iconic all-American meathead whose head is in fact a whole lot less meaty than we might assume. Lovable and I’m ready for more.

Oh, also I audiobooked this one and it’s easy to  recommend. It’s a goofily long 17 hours but Dick Hill kills it. What a voice.

This was the first action/thriller book I've read. It was just okay. The writing was nothing special... Choppy for sure! When I got near the end it went into the absurd! I struggled to finish the last 50 pages because it was so absurd.
the "bad guys" were buying $1 bills to send to Venezuela to be bleached of their ink so they could then reprint them as $100 bills. They were bringing them by the truck loads, loose?, and dumping them in this huge warehouse. How... How does this go unnoticed by the government? The pile is described as being as big as 2 houses on top of each other. That's a lot of dollar bills being taken out of circulation.  And how do they accomplish such a pile? Remember the change shortage during Covid! And this pile of loose $1 bills in a huge warehouse in the end has to be boxed up by 10 bad guys? How?!
also... Does this man ever eat or sleep... This will be the first and last book from this genre I will read.
