This isn't a must-read but definitely a nice goodbye if you liked the series.
3.75 star. This wasn't as exciting as the previous books in the series because Vance was really a secondary character but it was nice to see him working towards his own happily ever after with a completely new female character. Vance and Emery had a really solid friendship going in and their chemistry was as good and strong as the previous couples'. I liked how refreshing it was to have someone who wasn't part of their world and discovering it through their eyes. The tension between the couple wasn't really necessary and wasn't very short-lived because let's face it, not a lot of things were happening and this book wasn't really necessary.
There was no angst or taboo aspect in this story which didn't make it very interesting but it was also a nice change for these characters. I liked seeing glimpses from the previous couples and I finished the book feeling relieved, content and nostalgic about what all of them went through and confident that they will all be okay.

This book is the most run of the mill romance out of all five books. It’s a good, solid romance with a no sex bet and revenge. It lacks the taboo-ness of the other four books though. That’s not a bad thing, but it had been an immense draw to the other four books in the series.
Shoutout to Valentine PR for providing me with an ARC of the fifth book in the Filthy Americans series. However this book can also be read as a standalone.
I personally have read book 1-3 and only gave them a 2-3 star rating. Yet to read the fourth which I will now after reading this fifth & final instalment as this book was both cute & steamy.
The Temptation follows Vance Hale, the younger of the Hale men who was introduced back in the first book; The Initiation, of having an affair with his step-mum.
Now he is older, wiser and the step-mum (or step-monster) is long gone, Vance is not just feeling guilty for his past mistakes but needing revenge on a wealthy socialite trying to blackmail him for his guilty past.
In walks Emery, a young beautiful intelligent woman who literally falls into Vances life with the same common dominator revenge. And she can help Vance in succeeding. All she has to do is to “fake date” the wealthy prince, and with their chemistry, she’s more than happy to! Until Vance shares a deal he made with his missing (presumed dead) best friend, no sex for 90 days. Which makes their fake dating a little hard with the sexual tension. But what it does give them is an amazing friendship that turns into true lovers (at the end of that 90 days of course).
Until the monster of their revenge hits back, leaving them split & feeling like on opposite teams.
I was loving this story, until Emery does the unthinkable & puts her wants over her love for Vance. And doesn’t apologise for it. Nope, even when he takes her back. She still is like “I had too”. So unfortunately it made me rethink her character & their love and moved my star rating down to a 3.5/5 with 3/5 steam.

Vance is the youngest in the Hale family and I absolutely loved him. Despite what occurred in the previous books of this series with Vance, he is actually sweet, caring and a good friend. He makes a pact with his friend and the moment he meets Emery he is tempted to break that pact.
Emery is a woman on a mission. She has motivation for everything she does. Honestly, she is BA and I love her. I mean the woman can crack safes like it is no ones business. She isn’t afraid of Vance and he is one person she can trust to help her on mission.
The chemistry between Vance and Emery is off the charts. I loved the two of them together from the start. Even when everything was fake between them, there was still something more between them. I loved how perfectly they fit together and how well they worked together.
Not only is there plenty of steam, but there is mystery and suspense mixed in which I loved. It added a whole new level to everything going on between Vance and Emery.
If you’re looking for a fake dating, romantic suspense this is one to read!

A Satisfying Delight
If someone would have told me I’d devour this series in a matter of days I would not have believed them. But now that the journey is over I’m sad to see it end. This series was phenomenal and the final book was a perfect slow burn. Vance and Emery were intoxicating to read about. I loved the instant chemistry they had and the way they both had to learn to trust each other with their individual truths. Having to expose the worst of yourself to someone can be the scariest thing in the world and yet these two were able to overcome it and stick together. A perfect partnership if I ever saw one. As for the story itself, there were twists and turns I never saw coming and the ending was a sweet culmination of their unique love story. Over all this was a well earned 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.
NIkki Sloane uses the fifth book in the Filthy Rich Americans series to tell Vance Hale's story and wrap up the rest of the storylines. If you are looking for a steamy, hot read this will do it but I warn that it's not as twisted as the rest of the series.
Vance and Emery come from very different worlds and decide to work together to find out what happened to their friend. Of course, each of them have an ulterior motive for doing this work.
This book has some amazing plot twists but overall is a great wrap-up of the Hale family.
We can only hope Nikki Sloane is creating a new twisty family.

This story follows Vance & Emery who have come together over the disappearance of their mutual friend Jillian. In addition to Jillian’s disappearance her father is blackmailing Vance and Emery has her own reasons for wanting to take him down. She needs into the inner circle and so they decide dating each other will help both of their agendas.
Before Jillian disappeared she made a deal with Vance to go 90 days without sex

Romantic suspense, intrigue, a celibacy bet, and a fake relationship, wrapped up in the world of the uber rich. Vance and Emerly are brought together seemingly by chance, but there’s definitely much more to it. The disappearance of a mutual friend puts them on a path with a common goal, but differing outcomes, so they decide to work together. The celibacy bet was something Vance made with his friend before she disappeared, and he feels a loyalty to her to see it through, ninety days with no sex. But when Emerly enters the picture, his will is severely tested. Emerly has her own motives, and Vance is going to help her achieve her goal, but their chemistry is something she didn’t count on. Circumstances come together that end up with them in a fake relationship, but how long will it stay fake, and even when she agrees to help him with his bet, will they be able to hold out?
There is a lot to this story that could drop into predictable trope territory, but just when you think it’s going to do that, there’s a twist, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the story stayed out of that potential rut. Emerly is quite an interesting character, as well, a highly skilled safe cracker, working for a security company, with a history of pickpocketing. Of course, when Vance learns of this, he’s not only intrigued, but seeing her in action, actually turns him on. They have great chemistry, actually it’s quite off the charts. As they navigate his bet, trying not to take things between them too far, they definitely walk right up to the line and teeter over it many times. The shower scene in Monaco was enough to make me have to stop for a couple minutes for a breather, so incredibly hot. And as the plot unfolds, the story becomes more and more intriguing and engrossing. The relationships are complicated, and it’s nice to see that some of the usual devices for drama aren’t used, and least completely. The tension, both in and out of the bedroom is excellent, and the development of Emerly and Vance’s relationship feels so organic, natural, and right. I loved their interactions and how they played off each other. And their HEA was excellent.

I didn’t think I was going to like this book… until I got to chapter five. I was all ready for this to be a predictable and snooty billionaire romance snoozefest until we got to chapter five, and then I perked up some and took notice. From there, my interest only climbed until I was completely invested in the story of Vance and Emery and the twisted mini-verse that is Cape Hill.
You see, I am almost convinced Nikki Sloane doesn’t write bad books. She may write disappointing books, or books that might not be what I’m into, but she doesn’t write BAD books. For instance: I didn’t like “The Initiation”, the first book in this series. I also had a lot of criticism for “The Architect” (even though there were a great deal of things I did enjoy about that book). But this book? This book is really, really good.
I love the dual POV. I love Vance, now so removed from the events of the first book but also so lost amongst the rubble of Alice’s machinations. I liked Emery from when we first met her, but by chapter four I was in love with her. I kind-of want to reach into the book and steal her away. Even the mystery that kicks this whole book off (which had me turned off completely at first) which then turns itself into a subplot so the romance and a larger plot can come first is a matter I became invested in and I enjoyed how Sloane brought it back in and tied it all together at the end.
The best takeaway from this book is Emery. Emery Emery Emery.
