Another cracking thriller from the duo. The pace is terrific and the plot keeps you guessing about the what the bad guys are really up to. Typical Reacher stuff. Go for it.
I love me some Jack Reacher and I have loved every Jack Reacher book I have read. This one was different, not bad...just different.
This book followed the same outline that all Jack Reacher books follow, kicking ass... saving the day, but it just didn't flow as well as the others. I didn't feel as invested in the story as I have before. I am hoping that this is an anomaly, and not what we can expect in the future. 3.5⭐
Thank you to Netgalley, Random House/ Ballantine Books, Lee Child and Andrew Child for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I hate giving a bad review, but I think I need to here. I have loved the Jack Reacher series for many reasons, not least of which is the voice of Jack himself. Lee Child may have been coaching Andrew in writing the previous book, but I think in this case he left the kid on his own, and I just can't finish it. The voice is all wrong. The ancillary story-telling, which I have also really appreciated, is clumsy in comparison. Keep trying kid, but this one should have been sent back for major revision. I give two stars because it's (probably - again I couldn't finish it) got a novel-sized plot, which is no mean feat. But it takes way more to be a good book.
I guess I must bid farewell to Jack Reacher and simply remember him as he was.

I disliked the change in this Reacher book to the 'first person'. It jars with the other books in the series.

“I have nothing left to live for. I’d be better off dead.”
“Digging graves had not been part of my plans when I woke up that morning.”
“No such thing as impossible. Just inadequate preparation.”
A mediocre Jack Reacher book that at least was entertaining enough for me to read it pretty quickly. Jack is typical Jack and always a guarantee for a wild ride. I can definitely feel, though, the Andrew Child factor in this book. One thing that Andrew Child does more so than his brother is bog you down in details and descriptions. Lee Child did this some but never in a way to bore you. But you can feel that this is more of a book written by Andrew. I partially read another book by Andrew (when he went by Andrew Grant) and while it resembled a Reacher book, it too bogged you down in description after description where it made me put that book down. I also miss Lee Child’s dialogue he puts in the Reacher books. Plus, Jack wore the same clothes throughout the entire book :) So while this is a decent Reacher imitation, loyal fans will not be fooled. Still, it was good but I wish the ending would have left me like Lee Child Reacher books. Hopefully, this can be righted in future Jack Reacher books.

Once again Jack Reacher is back and once again tries to help someone who has an issue that they can't fix on their own. The title makes you think this might be the end of Jack Reacher but don't be fooled! Jack is back and as strong as ever. Jack still drinks his coffee black, still wakes up without an alarm clock and still kick everyone's butt! Fans of the Reacher series will not notice any difference with Andrew at the helm. Great book and cannot wait until the next one!
Jack Reacher was never really going to be for me but I still thought I'd like this more than I did. I like thrillers. I like tough guys. But I wanted more action and less talking. I also wanted a plot that made more sense, unlike this stupid convoluted thing. Also I thought it was so stupid that the brother slipped a condom into the parcel to indicate a Trojan horse. I guess it was something he had to hand? The closest he could get? But why not at least make some reference to a horse? I dunno. If he has the time and lack of supervision to put a condom in the box I don't see why he couldn't also slip in a lil picture of a horse, like a photo of him and a horse, or something. Even typing this out it all sounds really stupid but the plot actually really is almost that stupid anyway and at least this way I could have believed it.
I found myself racing through much of this book by the end, not through enjoyment but through wanting it to be over.
