Applegarth does it again! I loved this book. I love Violet and Roman’s dynamic. I appreciate how they complement each other, and how Violet helps Roman have a soft side. I also love how he is obsessed with puzzles! AND, I appreciate that we have a FMC who isn’t a warrior, and who does like things besides fighting, combat, strategy, and other qualities that many FMCs have in fantasy realms. I love how obsessed Roman is with Violet, and how thoughtful and purposeful he is towards her. I also really liked how welcoming Roman’s parents, especially his mom Sarah, are towards Violet. She’s a hoot!
Like the first book, I didn’t enjoy the smut. It’s not my favorite to have it written in such an open way, and at some points I just wanted Roman and Violet to do something cute together like when they stole chickens.
I think the last 20% of the book needed more. I hate that the rebel attack occurred so close to the end, it didn’t leave much time for resolution. Plus, the rebel attack just seemed too easy. I know Applegarth has caveats that this isn’t about world building or fantasy, so I get why she didn’t build it up more or make it more dramatic. However, it would have been good character development if Violet had to have protected Roman in some way. He always did so much for her, and I wanted to see Violet put in a similar amount of effort. I also think Vivian could’ve had a better redemption arc.
Regardless, I read this book so fast, and I never wanted to put it down. It was so cute, so special, so fun. I love seeing men fall head over heels for their partners. Everyone needs the men that Applegarth writes about. I’m counting down the days until her next book in this series. I usually don’t like dark romance or feral MMCs, but I do in Applegarth’s books.

Lots of twist and turns I did not see coming. Really enjoyed this one, not as good as the first but still had a good time. Love how obsessive Roman was with Violet despite his fate bond with Vivian. Loved seeing Ren again in this one.
The ONLY reason this isn’t a 5 star rating is because the narration in third person got confusing here and there throughout the book, otherwise this was an amazing read! Especially for those who want to dip their toes into fantasy but don’t want the commitment of starting an entire series!!

Let me start by saying a massive thank you to [a:Jamie Applegate Hunter|21588967|Jamie Applegate Hunter|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1678148946p2/21588967.jpg] for the chance to review this eARC—because wow, ma’am, you did not have to go this hard, but I’m so glad you did.
Let’s be real—there’s obsessed, and then there’s Roman Covington level obsessed. This man redefines "morally gray" in the most deliciously unhinged way possible, and I for one was eating it up. If intense, stalker-ish love isn’t your thing... well, maybe you should just skip this one. But if you do love a man who would burn the world down and then rebuild it brick by brick for his girl? Welcome to your new obsession.
This wasn’t your average “rejected mates” sob fest either—oh no. It was a spicy little plot twist buffet, and I devoured every bite. Roman and Violet were so cosmically chaotic together that I’m convinced fate just sat back and said, “Y’all need to suffer a little first for the drama.”
Also, can we talk about the side characters? Chef’s kiss. Slayton, Griff, Ares? Yes. I want their stories. I want their drama. I want their deeply repressed feelings and inevitable spicy slow burns. And while we’re at it—Vivian redemption arc WHEN? Give me a messy, angsty novella where she claws her way back into everyone’s good graces. Just my opinion.
This book had me in a chokehold. I blinked and I was on the last page. Do I regret nothing? Absolutely. And that surprise cameo from Rennick and Amelia (and Finn the sweater baby) from [b:Viciously Yours|205404157|Viciously Yours (Fae Kings of Eden, #1)|Jamie Applegate Hunter|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1705307599l/205404157._SY75_.jpg|207315466]? HILARIOUS. I couldn’t stop giggling.
Final verdict: Obsessively Yours is like if fate and chaos had a baby—and I loved every second of it.

After reading Viciously Yours and The Umbra King duology, I have been waiting desperately for this book and was SO lucky to receive it as an ARC.
Oh. My. God. It was worth the wait. I love Jamie's writing, and I whipped through this in less than a day. The story between Roman and Violet was everything I could've wanted, and the throwback to Rennick and Amelia was so good!! I did miss hearing about her green boots and trout necklace
