I've loved The Pioneer Woman blog for many years, so it was nice to finally have a chance to read Ree's story in its entirety. Simple and sweet, a quick read, and full of heart.

I love Ree! She is so refreshingly honest and she's that sweet in real life. I love reading her story and love reading her blog on a daily basis!

A continuation of the story started on her web site. From what I remember, the first 1/3 is verbatim from what she posted online and the last 2/3 is new-ish information. A fast and pretty enjoyable read.

I loved this book. Such a cute and honest story. I enjoyed the layout of the book as well. It was a fun easy read. Ree is too funny...I love that I'm not the only one who is extremely clumsy in the worst situations.

I found myself completely swept up in this love story. So many times I couldn't help grinning idiotically at the sheer cuteness of Ree and her Marlboro Man. All of us should be so lucky to find that kind of love and devotion. Sure, some parts of the book annoyed me a little (how perfect Marlboro Man is portrayed for the longest time, how the end is very reminiscent of Laura Ingalls Wilder's The First Four Years, and the way Drummond glosses over some points I wish she'd delved farther into, for example), but in all, The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels is a lovely memoir of falling in love and building a life, a feel-good read. I checked this book out of the library, but I may have to find a copy to add to my own collection.

4 1/2 stars (rounded up)

Fun, fun, fun! This was the perfect book to read when Brad was gone on a weekend scout trip. I meant to only read for a few minutes but ended up getting sucked in for 4 hours straight. So why 4 1/2 stars? First it is my attempt to differentiate a true love story from a fictional love story. Second, it has lead to a month long infatuation with the "Pioneer Woman." I've checked out her first cookbook from the library and have enjoyed trying recipes, I watched some of her cooking shows and I also looked at her blog. It has been a fun obsession.

Reading this book has got me wishing that more people would write up their dating stories. Perhaps they'd have to be novellas because they couldn't get a whole novel out of their story but it sure would be great. I was super impressed with the author because of her honesty. I would think it would be embarrassing to write about your first kiss. Not only do you read about her first kiss but also about how they made out every time they were together. This has me thinking that that is probably way more accurate then fiction stories where the main characters FINALLY kiss at the end of the book. Just sayin'
lighthearted reflective fast-paced

I've been a fan of PW for several years now, and read her original blog installments of this story. It only made me want to read the book more. It's an honest, light-hearted love story that, for once, a girl who doesn't like sappy love stories can get into. More than that, Drummond is open (hilariously so) about her experiences of feeling like a "freakazoid," which I could so easily appreciate and relate to.

Or maybe I just loved this book so much because I'm a freakazoid, too. In any case, this is definitely a book that I'm going to start lending out to all the lovely ladies in my life.

A quick read--I finished it in one afternoon. I liked the online version better (www.thepioneerwoman.com).

I have heard bits and pieces about Pioneer Woman over the years, but never really read much. I saw this at the library and grabbed it. And oh my goodness. It was an autobiographical love story written like a novel. I LOVED IT. I read it in about 2 hours. So sweet.
