Another one that captured me from Louise Bay. Again not REALLY my thing, with the sappy romance trope, but still a beat of steam and I love following along with all the 'King of Wall-Street' family.

This one is baby sister Violet, burnt out on her life. She up and moves to London for a few months and OF COURSE she meets a dream boat and ...

A straight-up romance, the dramatic tension in the novel comes from the emotional development of the MCs and their relationship. Normally, not enough action for my taste, but the characters are well drawn, multi-layered and interesting. The growth in the relationship makes sense, and the occasional bad choice is consistent with the characters. At times LOL funny and others super steamy, this is a great light read for a cold winters night. Only at the end did it falter a little -- the final conflict between the 2 MCs seemed a bit manufactured. But, Ms. Bay pulled it out at the end with a satisfying and not sentimental HEA.

Hooked

The British Knight is the first book I’ve read from Louise Bay but it won’t be my last. I adored these characters and can’t wait to binge read the others in her series! Worth the read!

I know i have a problem. I admit it. I am an accent slut. I genuinely drooled at Shane East's first words. I had to use a tissue to wipe the drool of my face. I got so caught up in the accent and incredible voice I had to rewind a few times to catch what happened. It's shameful but true!

The British Knight (amazing accent aside) is ace. The tale of two reluctant people and their undeniable chemistry and the gravitational pull between them.

I enjoyed that Louise Bay's characters are all linked. it was fun to see them together.

I am eager for Darcy's chance at her HEA.

I would say 3.5 for the sex scenes. But everything else was just meh.

Another great book by Louise Bay. Violet falls for her boss while working at his law firm in London. But Alexander is a crazy workaholic. The combination of the two of them is really, really hot! Great Listen. Excellent Narration by Shane East & Saskia Maarveland.

I had such a hard time finishing this one.
The blurb sounded perfect. I mean, a British knight ? Yeah, give me.

The thing is I didn't like Alexander at all. Violet was okay I guess.
But Alexander was just so plain and couldn't take any decision.

Since I first saw The British Knight’s cover and read the synopsis, I was really curious about it, and I was very happy to have the chance to read an ARC and discover a new author.

Unfortunately, I was expecting something different, and maybe also a more romantic storyline. I’ve never read Louise Bay’s novels, so my expectations were based only on this book’s synopsis.

I didn’t enjoy this book and the relationship between the main characters (Violet and Alexander) didn’t emotion me, but this probably depends on the description’s style which is far away from what I usually like. Moreover, I didn’t like that the story sometimes sounds a little bit a cliché.

On the contrary, I appreciate that The British Knight presents a dual narrative that I find a pleasant alternative to the typical narration because it lets the reader to perfectly know both Violet and Alexander points of view. Also, in this particular context, the dual narrative really helps the reader to understand the psychology of the characters, and better know the reasons behind their behaviors.
