The 3rd book was totally worth the wait! Almost losing Callum is more than Kaia can bear. She has to finally decide what is most important in her life. Ballet has always been her first love, but with the pressure from her father increasing and her love for Callum growing she must take stand. As she is trying to figure all of that out, Callum is becoming increasingly agitated and angry. He hasn't told her his darkest secret, but he knows he has to do something or he will lose the one thing he can't live without, Kaia. They have to go through so much pain and anguish to get what they both want, a life together. Love the supporting characters and their stories, add so much to Kaia and Callum's, I just loved the ending!! I can't wait for Lucas's book!

The Embrace is the third book in the Broken Slipper Trilogy. This book needs to be read after the first two, as it is the last story of Calum and Kaia.

This book starts off after something happened to Calum at the ending of book two. Kaia is by his side during the whole ordeal. Can they get through what happened to Calum?

Calum finally admitted what happened to him to his brother Lucas. Kaia's toxic family had its own issues. Her dad is still a jerk and demands Kaia pay him back for all he's done for her. Will Kaia finally get away from his hold?

Something happened to Kaia's best friend that could jeopardize her ballet career. How will Kaia take it?

A lot of things came to a close in this book, as well as secrets coming out. Will Kaia and Calum get their happily ever after? Or will all the stuff in their lives tear them apart for good?

The Broken Slipper trilogy has been so thrilling from start to finish. From The Patron to The Dancer, and now finally The Embrace, billionaire Calum and ballerina Kaia have been on a journey of self-discovery, love and life.

The Patron hooked me in, The Dancer kept me on the edge of my seat, and The Embrace tied up many of the increasingly complicated storylines - and this couple really had to deal with a lot. While I did enjoy this book and loved finally getting an ending to this series (especially after binge reading the first two books within a matter of days), I did have some mixed feelings on a few things. It's hard to put my finger on exactly why but I think it was mainly the pacing. This book is fast paced. There are so many things going on and even more new events that occur within this book, that at times it felt like there was almost *too* much going on. I don't want to give any spoilers away but there is a particular scene that felt like it occurred a little too soon after being hinted at. So much so, I knew immediately what was going on and there was no real element of surprise.

Another aspect I had mixed feelings on were the characters' thoughts process and decision making. Again, it wasn't a huge issue and I think one of the greatest aspects of reading fiction is being put into the shoes of so many different characters, but usually by the end I can understand the character's thought process a little more and that didn't really happen in The Embrace.

That being said, these weren't deal breakers for me and I still enjoyed the book as a whole. I like Wood's writing and the entire series kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters and overall plotline were fun, quirky and dramatic.

There are mentions of more serious topics some of which go into detail and others are more of a passing mention. They include: sexual assault, violence, domestic abuse, etc. Some readers may find the topics triggering, so please keep that in mind before starting this series.

This is the conclusion to Calum and Kaia’s story and I really wanted to know how it would end. As always I loved the steamy scenes between them and how at the end Calum changed from book one. So in general I liked the story but there were some things that felt very inconclusive.

In the previous books there were a lot of problems between Kaia and her father, he was very persistent but in this book everything happened so fast with them and I didn’t feel like it was the closure Kaia deserved, especially since he treated her badly all her life.

Also, I felt that there were some non important things throughout the book that didn’t added anything to the story or they weren’t very relevant to Calum and Kaia’s story.

I definitely expected more of the book and their story, but I loved how they got their HEA and I hope to read soon Lucas’s book and see if Calum and Kaia make some appearances.

What a perfect conclusion to this steamy trilogy. Vivian Wood has taken us on a journey with Calum and Kaia and it was a wonderful trip.

The Embrace picks up right where The Dancer left off, and will grab your attention and not let go! I absolutely loved the character growth that Kaia has once she finally sees her own worth. She steps up and becomes a stronger character and it just makes the story even better.

This story has so much of everything I can’t stop thinking about it. You definitely need to read the series in order, but trust me you will be glad you did!
