I’ve been waiting for Madden’s story and Derek is truly perfect for him. The book has some time jumps, but they are completely necessary. In the other books, Madden is fighting through some major issues, but being able to read his inner thoughts about a lot of it is heartbreaking. Derek loves every part of Madden and I love that he learns to live his life.

I’m not going to lie and say this was easy for me to read.  Honestly I struggled with it and I had to sit with it for a long while because this is different from a typical Saxon book for me.  She does an amazing job of conveying feelings and emotions, which is still true for this book.  However, the feelings weren’t light, they weren’t bubbly.  All the emotions of the book were warped by the haze of Xander’s anxiety.  It almost felt as if he wasn’t allowed or entitled to feel how he did in a lot of different ways, plus he was not a nice person for a while and although I understand why, I still hurt for those who love him.

For me, I don’t know if the relationship between Derek & Xander truly ever had a chance to flourish. The struggle for mental health was as raw as it was captivating, but I truly wish I was given more time with them in a healthy relationship.  Part of it is knowing I won’t get to see them happy in future books since this is the last in the series, so I think I needed more time with them in a positive place and not only within the struggle.

Saxon wrote an amazing book, and put my emotions through the wringer right along with the characters, but I wanted them to have more time being in a healthy relationship.  I want to see them living their best life, healthy, happy and surrounded by so much love and family they don’t know what to do with themselves.

My sweet, sweet Xander finally gets his HEA! I loved being in his head and how his poor mind worked. My heart absolutely broke for him and soar for him when he got the man he wanted in Derek. Derek and Xander are such a sweet couple.
So sad to see this series end but so happy all the Big Bertha boys find there soulmates.

Xander and Derek's story is finally here! This one is so highly anticipated by fans of the Sadenverse. However, if you have any mental health issues, definitely check out the content warnings. If you don't, please tell me how you accomplish that. Xander has severe anxiety and hypochondria. It's debilitating for him, and he's always been dependent on his best friend/foster brother Seven to take care of him. Recently, Xander has also been getting help from Derek, a nurse at the local pharmacy that is ALWAYS there when Xander needs him.

It turns out, Derek is so worried about Xander and his ailments that he rearranged his life to be available as much as possible for him. It's heartbreaking to see what these two go through as they try to navigate Xander's mental health and Derek's job. Saxon James does an incredible job of portraying someone with severe anxiety and panic attacks. It's impossible not to feel so many of the emotions along with the characters.

🔥: So steamy with so much pining and months of built-up tension and frustration. These two can't help but be passionate together. Their scenes are slowly paced with graphic details.
😆: There is some comic relief along the way, usually thanks to Xander's amazing found family. Plus, some rambunctious senior citizens.
😭: Lots of tough moments in this one, especially when Derek delivers some tough love. Take care of your own mental state as you read!

I love the representation that anxiety gets in this book. So many people don't realize how scary it can get for a person dealing with it. Despite the difficulties these two face, there is so much love in this series! This finale really is the perfect conclusion.

CW: severe anxiety, hypochondria, severe anxiety attacks on the page, discussion of past trauma including abuse, abandonment and neglect, some suicidal ideation, self-hatred

I just finished this -  admittedly in one sitting/binge.

I can't even begin to describe how much this one is going to stay with me. I wish there was a higher rating than five that I could give it. The way Xander is written is for a lack of a better way - beautiful. I say this because it's rare to find books that actually show realistic representation of mental disorders and this author has done it yet again. I knew Xanders story would hit hard. I don't want to give spoilers so I'll keep it simple.

What I loved:
The author wrote about a character with real flaws and a real disorder. One that's hard. She accurately portrayed the character through both the characters lense and the lense of others and the pain that came with it. I loved that it didn't have the "love conquers all" trope where it glosses over the characters legit mental disorders with the whole love heals cliche.

I loved that Derek was a very good fit for Xander and that he actually is good for him and I adore that Xanders support system is very well portrayed and it isn't just about Derek. This story is very much about healing past traumas and getting help and the hurdles that come with it.

Anyways - I highly recommend this and the audio is phenomenal. I did cry a few times but this story was beautiful.

I was late to the game with the Accidental Love Series, but quickly fell in love with the Bertha Boys when I read the first four last month. The series had been on my radar for a while, but the reveal of this stunning cover was the push I needed to get started.

I was really excited to get to Xander and Derek’s story, and even more thrilled to receive an ARC copy.

I went in with no real expectation for how the story would unfold, and could not have loved it more.

On top of his medical anxiety that we saw glimpses of in the previous books, Xander’s past trauma has him worried that his friends will leave him now that they’ve all found love. He’s in a rough place at the beginning of the book, and my heart was breaking for him.
I feel like everything was handled so well in this book. Xander’s mental health issues were portrayed with care, and his healing journey was one that really fit his character. There were times that his actions made me want to shake him a little bit, but being in his head really helped to make clear why he was acting the way he was.

We finally get to see more of Derek in this book, and we can see how deeply he cares for Xander. He is trying to navigate what it means to develop feelings for a patient, while also really struggling with how to ensure Xander gets the help he really needs.

Their journey isn’t necessarily a smooth one, but it was absolutely what they needed. Xander’s mental health struggles were handled with the utmost care, and I really appreciated that the complexity of the forbidden nature of thejr relationship wasn’t just glossed over or ignored.

Xander and Derek’s story is full of emotional moments, some sweet and silly ones to balance it out, and some excellent spicy scenes as well!

If you haven’t read this series yet, get started now! And if you have, run, because Xander and Derek’s story is out now!

I always knew it would be hard saying goodbye to the Bertha Boys but whew-eeeee I was not prepared.

The final instalment of the Accidental Love series is the long awaited Xander's story and I never had a doubt it would be perfection. Saxon James has such an incredible way of writing characters that reach out to us and set up home in our hearts.

This story was sweet, poignant and so so emotionally charged.  I smiled so wide and hurt with understanding as Xander fought his way through his issues (mental health themes written and researched exceptionally well)  and finally got what he had always wanted.

Derek was the perfect partner for him and their relationship was beautiful, even though difficult at times, their connection was off the charts.  I absolutely loved both MCs.

I loved the cameos from all the boys, especially Seven and wonderful, wonderful Aggie.

This was the perfect ending to such an incredible series.  there was love and laughter, sweetness and spice, and one hell of a Bertha sized HEA.  The book hangover from this one is real.

100% Recommend this entire series.
