Honestly more like 2.5 stars. This book fell flat for me, probably because I didn’t feel like there was good chemistry between the hero/heroine. Not really tempted to read the rest of the series.
Lots of in-depth development with the characters. Action was a bit brief and not as fleshed out as I would have liked it, but the intimate scenes were well detailed.
medium-paced
So not my first book from the author and I had no idea going in that this series is so connected to the the Drake series. The paranormal angle is a very big part of the reason for everything happening and there's some disabilty conversations, I loved the way Lev recognizes and tries to help Rikki without going over her independency. I found Lev very romantic in the sweet gestures, and he cooks people.
I think the book could be a smaller, but I liked the development of the couple,, she shows some signs of OCD and he understands and tries to help her deal with her fears. The mystery part for me was pretty good and had a nice ending but the other part related to Lev felt a bit rushed. I really liked this couple and the found family aspect of this series is such a great idea, will definitely continue.

This book is the start of a new series that follows Ilya Prakeskii's brothers and how they meet their destined mates. It was good, touching, and romantic, but I was disappointed in a few plot things that I know she'll bring up later...but I want them now. I love the hand thing. You'll know what I'm talking about if you've read the Ilya and Joley story. For goodness sake, don't start with this one. You have to read the Drake series first or you'll be totally lost.

Having read the majority (26/28) of the Dark series by Christine Feehan, I didn't hesitate to pick up another series written by her. I have to say though, this book blew my mind! Not only was it based more on real humans (with psychic powers) but this is the first time I've encountered a main character that has a developmental disability. Not that Feehan has never introduced characters with physical abilities, as one of her heroines is blind and another is mute. But this is the first time we've gotten a look at someone who doesn't have any outward "disabilities" and yet who is strong, independent and capable in her own way. I absolutely love how Feehan paints the picture of Rikki and how amazingly supportive Lev is of her. I can't wait to continue this series!
3.5 stars
Perhaps if I’d been in a different mood while reading this I might have at least given it a 4 stars, but I found myself uninspired to read this. It wasn’t that it was a bad book, but I definitely didn’t really feel any sort of attachment or emotion for/from the characters and it made this book a bit of a struggle for me to read.
I liked that the heroine was autistic, she was such an interesting person and I liked than she was shown as a strong person. I didn’t really care for Lev at times, I just found him boring. I think the romance was lacking but I’m unsure if that’s because of the nature of their relationship (they’re both not good with people) but it was high in the mystery/suspense to find out who was starting the fires and why. The why had me feeling a bit disappointed, I expected something else so the revenge aimed at someone not really at fault was annoying.
Overall I enjoyed the book, I didn’t think it actually mattered that I hadn’t read the Drake sisters series first, as it was just mentioning certain people and maybe one event, but for the full experience it’s probably better.
