I found this super helpful and it does feel like magic when you utilize a skill and you get better results when in conversation with someone. I do have a quibble about all the authors being men because I think it shows, especially in some stereotypical behavior attributed in the role plays to imaginary women. Overall, good book, maybe get a woman author in here for some better gender dynamics in the workplace type stuff.

I read this book with my team at work, and I found it genuinely helpful. While some of the principles might be rooted in common sense, I find that it's really hard to consciously develop my common sense—especially in heated situations—so I think most of the advice in this book can be helpful to anyone.

There were aspects of it that felt very true to the self-help genre. It was a little kitschy and salesy, and it did have an undertone of "this will make all your problems magically disappear." I also agree with many of the reviews that say the book feels a little disorganized because of the various authors. And there are way too many acronyms and "catchy" phrases to remember.

I would recommend this book, though. It does have very decent and helpful advice about communicating effectively in difficult situations. It is also a pretty brief read!

I enjoyed this book until the sexual harassment conversation. This was absolutely inappropriate way to deal with this. And even farther in about taking too long to say something. Big fat no from me.

These tips are solid, but for me personally, nothing new.
