The advice won't work for everyone due to unconscious (or very conscious) bias. From a professional standpoint the focus on achieving a stated objective makes sense. From a human standpoint, that advice breaks down for repeated harassment or discrimination.

I appreciated the focus on self reflection and double-checking if my actions are likely to accomplish my end goal. I also liked the section on keeping the conversation safe, the advice was specific and practical.

Had to read for work. It actually had some good real-life examples for problem-solving (e.g., how to deal with irresponsible/argumentative roomates, calmly and rationally working out differences with a spouse, etc.)... just not something I would read for fun or recommend.
