Yikes! This twisted story just got crazier and crazier the further along I got into it. I really don’t know what else to say about this one… Mental illness definitely plays a large role in this story. I did think I was pretty interesting that there wasn’t a single male character throughout the whole story.

I really wanted to love this but it just fell flat for me. I was expecting all the witchy vibes and it just didn’t have that for me. I wasn’t really attached to the characters at all and Ellis annoyed me. I will say that the dark academia vibes r great in this book and overall the story isn’t bad. I was interested at some parts but toward the end I just wanted to finish the book already. Overall not my favorite but I didn’t hate it.
i read this a long time ago, but reading the secret history recently made me think of this. this book was bad. it was unbelievably bad. if you want to read it, come armed with your disbelief suspended because there will be absolutely no point in this book where you can put it down. a 17 year old that wins pulitzers? high school seniors who function on alcohol? i don't think i can speak on the depiction of mental illness in this book, but the only poc were there for diversity rep and to educate the white girls about racism. same goes for the nb character about nb/trans issues.

I didn’t like the relationship between the two main characters. Decisions they made didn’t make sense and the plot twists were predictable. Most of the book was slow.
This was predictable for me and a lot like a story I’ve read before. Different trope, but similar vibe and ended practically the same. I would’ve liked for the relationships to be fleshed out more along with development within the MC’s personal plot.
