Fuck me this book was hot. I need a Chris of my own, hell I'd even take a Mark. Gosh, where do I go on this review. Sex was Hot! Writing was fascinating and I couldn't put it down. I like Sara's link to all this, Her friend Ella owned the storage and turns up missing. Rebecca is the original owner and is missing. Sara's link is these hot, fascinating, mindfucking men. All she has to do is solve the puzzle and fall in love. She has a lot in common with both women and it's only going deeper. The writing is erotic, and those journal entries as well. I'm ready for book three, but now I have to wait.

Being Me is the angst-laden second novel in Lisa Renee Jones’ Inside Out trilogy. Picking up right where If I Were You leaves off, readers are thrust back into Sara McMillan’s dysfunctional relationship with Chris Merit and her investigation into Rebecca Mason’s disappearance. When a book has me talking out loud to myself, you know it’s good. I was saying things like, “That was terrifying” or “Holy shit that was hot”. Seriously, I was having entire conversations with myself.

I cannot get enough of the over protective, alpha male. This book has TWO! Mark, Sara’s boss, is sort of an asshole, but a hot one. The dance he and Sara do had me kind of wanting her to try him out, if you know what I mean. Mark has a way of being very direct and at the same time talks in riddles.

Chris is Sara’s hot-as-fuck artist boyfriend. He has such a dirty mouth, but at the same time says some of the sweetest things. They have this deep connection that Ms. Jones does a wonderful job of making you feel so intensely. The sex in this book is SEARING! It’s written in such a descriptive way that I could almost feel all the things being described.

The first book left us with a frightening cliffhanger. This book solves all the mystery with Rebecca and the journals. There is a book 3, Revealing Us, and is more of Chris and Sara’s story.

What originally captures my love for The Inside Out Trilogy was how different it was. It wasn't just a BDSM book, although there are aspects. And it's not just a romance novel, although there's that too. And it's not just a suspense thriller, although there are moments I'm hanging on the edge of my seat. It's all of it. I'm completely drawn in by Lisa's ability to mix everything that feels "wrong" and make it so right. Added bonus is Rebecca's journals, released as 5 separate books to keep you warm at night while waiting for Being Me to be released.

Struggling to copy with the secrets Chris has revealed, Sara finds herself torn. Her deepening feelings for Chris are at odds with everything she's tried to protect herself from. As Sara's secrets and Chris' demons are revealed, their relationship is threatened.

And where's Rebecca? That's still the question. Through all the personal and emotional turmoil, Sara's thoughts constantly land back to the fate of Rebecca. Chris does all he can to keep, hiring a PI team to search her out.

The journals are still on the forefront of Sara's mind. She finds two more journals that are Rebecca's and although they are not a personal, they are a major clue.

Sara's also worried about her neighbor Ella, who hasn't called in on her honeymoon and Sara, despite frequent attempts, has not been able to get a hold of her. Is something wrong? Could it be connected to the Rebecca case? Or is Sara just being paranoid?

There's so much going on in this story yet it's not one of those stories that there's so much you get lost. This incredibly written series is such a breathe of fresh air, it's no surprise that it's caught the interest of the Starz Channel for a potential new show! Just consider me a Lisa Renee Jones groupie!

2 stars. Nope. Just....no. I hate these characters so much and there seemed to be less suspense about Rebecca than the first one. Sara is a god awful heroine and I don't think I can stomach reading about how she just lets Chris control her every move. Not for me. I have no intention on finishing this series. That's enough bullshit for me, thanks.

Chris and Sara are still new to their relationship, and past secrets threaten to end them. Sara is still determined to find Rebecca, but is also enjoying her new job. It's clear to Sara that something important happened between Chris, and Mark, but neither of them are admitting what that is. She wants to believe in their relationship, and trust Chris, but her past is affecting her future. She still hasn't heard a word from Ella, her best friend who went to Paris to get married. Add all of that to the fact that Sara feels threatened each time she visits Rebecca's forgotten storage unit, and she has no idea who to trust.

***Spoilers***
Chris opens up to Sara and allows her into some parts of his life, especially the childrens charity. At a banquet for the charity, she runs into her ex, Michael who threatens to expose Chris's dark side, if she doesn't return home. Chris finds her sobbing in the bathroom, and has security find him. He tells Michael and Sara's father that their threats won't work, and he is more than capable of ruining both of them. Michael is the son her father never had, and when she left him the first time he raped her to prove she still belonged to him. She told him she would stay with him, but needed to pack her things in San Francisco before moving back to Vegas. Once she was home, she told him if he ever touched or talked to her again she would file charges on him. It's been two years, and he has left her alone until then. When one of the boys he is close to from the charity dies, Chris loses it and goes to the club. Mark and Sara find him tied up, demanding to be whipped as hard as anyone can give it. She tries to console him, but he pushes her away. He breaks things off, and for a week she is devastated. Mark tries again to take care of her, but she tells him that can't happen. Chris comes back, and again they vow to fix their relationship. When she finds out he knew Rebecca more than he let on, she goes to Mark for answers. She finds him there with his friend, and Ava (the coffee shop owner). Ava freaks out, threatening Sara, and yelling at Mark that he will fuck her then come back like he did with Rebecca. Sara leaves, but Ava tries to run her over before slamming into a tree. She gets out and pulls a gun on her, but Chris shows up just in time to stop her. Ava admits to the police that she killed Rebecca. Chris tells Sara he thought she would run to Mark after their fight, and vowed that if he caught her there it would be the end. Several hours later he tells her he played a part in her going to Mark for answers by keeping things from her, and if she wants to know everything she can come with him the following morning to Paris, and they can try to find Ella while they're there. She has a few hours to decide if that's what she wants to do, and if so she is supposed to meet him at the airport.

This was something light & entertaining to read, something between slower books.

I loved the mysteries in this book and we finally got to know what has happened to Rebecca! But there could have been so much more haunting scenes or they might have been longer because they were the best parts. Beside these mysterious scenes there happened hardly anything else.

I liked the ending, there was action, we got answers to our questions and I'm eager to see how this trilogy ends.
