Disclaimer: I know the author through my local Romance Writers of America chapter. I saw her cover, thought it was totally adorable, and decided to give it a try even though I rarely read contemporary books or YA books.

So, after finishing the utterly awesome, I-can't-stop-thinking-about-it, OMG-why-hasn't-the-whole-world-read-this-book called The Martian, I needed something completely different to read. This book is so not what I usually read, but I read it quickly and found myself coming back to it every time I set it aside. I also grinned like a school girl. I think it's because this book made me feel like I was a kid with a crush on a popstar. We've all been there, right? Right? Well, I totally related to Aimee. NKOTB anyone? And this book made me feel young. While also making me feel very, very old. I understood all the lingo in the book, but I don't talk that way at all (probably a good thing), and that made me respect the author because it felt like she nailed the voice. It also made me realize I would probably utterly fail if I tried to write a contemporary young adult novel.

Plot was what you would expect from this book. No surprises. Just a lot of cuteness.

Oh, one last thought. Seconds to Juliet is an AWESOME band name.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this title!

I haven't read a fluffy, cheesy, gushy book like this in a long while and I really enjoyed it. I absolutely love books that just suck you into the romance and make you experience all the feels.
The idea that a girl could fall in love with a pop star I just ate up. Their journey from becoming friends to more than friends was just super adorable. All the characters were really great and sassy. At times though, it got a little cheesy and the characters acted a bit immature for their ages. Other than that I had tons of fun reading this book.
This definitely isn't something that's for everyone. If your around my age (I'm 16) you will probably enjoy this because its very much up to date with today's slang and technology. With that, sometimes when the author incorporated things like "OMG" into this story it felt as though it was for a much younger audience.

But I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a really nice lighthearted read and I'll probably continue to read other works of this authors.

I Absolutely loved this cute story, yeah it had some Angst but it wasn't hurtful. The voices were off at times and some of the phrases they used were off putting, i mean i like slang and shorthand in books but only in text speak. Still i'm glad i read this and i won't mind reading this again.

Overall 5 Stars

So I have a review copy of the second book in this series, that I got before I realized it was a series, so of course I had to go back and read this one first.

And I have been super sick, cant sleep due to coughing. So last night during my coughing fits I decided to pick up my tablet and start this. I ended up reading the whole thing in a surprisingly short amount of time. I honestly don't even know how I managed it with being so sick. It was weird.

This is by no means a perfect book. Its not a brilliant literary work. It is a teen romance. It is even a little cheesy. Unrealistic. Its got a boy band. But for some reason I couldn't put it down! I got totally wrapped up in the cheesy, unrealistic love story. I am such a sucker sometimes!

I have to say, Miles sounds so lovable. He sounds like a sexy Harry Styles (I do not like One Direction, by the way, but I wont deny that Harry Styles is adorable). Aimee was alright, but I feel like I didn't really get a good feel for her personality.

It had a good romantic tension build up. Which I totally appreciate. So that was nice. The next book follows a different member of the band, the bad boy, and I am actually looking forward to reading and reviewing it!

I highly recommend this to people who love One Direction... Lol... or other Boy Bands.

FIRST THOUGHTS: This brought me right back to my fan fiction days, and in a good way.

I feel like I've just read One Direction fanfiction... And I actually enjoyed it? I felt secondhand embarrassment for Aimee when Miles found out about her fangirl blog, it was so painful to read that part, he was an ass about it when he didn't let her explain and straight out ignored her. I was glad she didn't instantly forgive Miles when he was an asshat to her. The book was nicely written and Aimee wasn't all that depressing, after reading about her major child crush on Miles at the beginning I was afraid I wouldn't like her all that much, but I'm glad that didn't happen. It was a funny read that left me all warm and fuzzy inside. I'd say it's a 3.5 for this one.

I NEED HALF STARS, GOODREADS!!! 3.5 Stars is my overall rating.

I was sent this book for the Backstage Pass Series Box Set from Entangled Teen via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. This does not change my opinions on the book in any way.

We follow Aimee whose summer gets turned around when her friend, Becky ends up getting mono and cancelling their fun summer plans. Instead, Aimee has to go on tour with Seconds to Juliet with her brother, Nick and the band for three weeks while her parents are on a trip for Doctors Without Borders. Aimee isn't thrilled, but deep down she's a secret superfan of the band. She ends up rekindling a friendship and relationship with Miles - a friend of her brother from their childhood- who is in the band. Miles is known as "The Heartthrob" of the band due to his past relationships. Her brother, Nick forces her to stay away from him because he is a player.

Nonetheless, Aimee and Miles go against the rules because of their love for eachother. I felt this book was SUPER cringey at times because of the things they said.. Aimee's phrase to say is "nut-burgers" Huh? Also, some of the cheesy lines that Miles would say had me cringing!!!

This was super cute, as I expected. It read like a boy band fanfiction. Miles is probably my least favorite character, though. I kinda hated how he kept having to hide his relationship with Aimee and he was sort of a hypocrite! He would always say, I can't be with you blah blah blah and then he'd sneak Aimee and make out with her. GAH.

Miles got super cute at the end, though!! I shipped them together by the Epilogue. Glad there was an epilogue b/c I really wanted to know where they were after the tour!

Aimee was a GREAT character!! She's a YouTuber!! I thought that was amazing, she and her friend, Becky run a vlog channel where they review books, movies and music. I would so watch them if they were IRL!!

I had some mixed feelings with this novel. I'm curious to see how the other novels in the series are. Click here to go to my blog post with the full review.
