And to think, I didn't like the first book on my first read. This series is amazing in true Amie and Meagan fashion. Well done!
Enjoyed this more than [b:Unearthed|25446297|Unearthed (Unearthed, #1)|Amie Kaufman|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1495338043s/25446297.jpg|45210048], I think Undying has a focused plot that kept the whole book moving from the beginning whereas Unearthed took a while to get into what as happening. Kept me racing ahead to see what happened next and think the addition of Neal was great.
Some of the twists were really good and came out of nowhere.
The ending felt kind of flat because not all my questions were answered until the epilogue, thank god for that or I wouldn't have like it as much as I did. As always though Kaufman and Spooner's writing was great and the world building was interesting and I would have liked to have learnt more about the environmental and political state of Earth but it is what it is.
All in all definitely recommend for anyone who likes YA sci fi with an archaeological spin.

But I managed to figure out from the last book that the 'aliens' were actually the humans from the supposedly failed Centauri colony mission, I mean it was referenced heavily in the first book and even more so in here so, of course it's important and I feel that most readers are able to put two and two together. The ending felt kind of flat because not all my questions were answered until the epilogue, thank god for that or I wouldn't have like it as much as I did. It took me quite a while to read this and that only happens when I am not that into what happens in the story, and for more than half of this book I was bored. I missed the whole Indiana Jones and Lara Croft vibe that Uneathed had.
I pretty much saw the big reveal coming from at least the middle of the book, but I do appreciate the vague semblance to Interstellar.
Not introducing many characters was a good choice, because I don't like it when the sequel throws at me a bunch of newcomers, also I did like some of them.
I gave this 4 stars because despite it boring me at the beginning, I was thoroughly entertained towards the end.

AHHHH I LOVED THIS SERIES SO MUCH MORE THAN I EXPECTED!! The first book was a little insta-lovey and I wasn’t fully on board with all the “problem-solving” in the temple (didn’t seem real or hard enough) but this book just brought this series home. I loved it more than the first book tbh.
The 24/7 action packed plot, which by the way was full of surprise revelations, (saw a few coming though) had me struggling to put the book down.
I just really really liked this series, enough said.
Read it.

More of a 3.5 I think. Don’t get me wrong, I love Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner but for some reason this didn’t really land with me (as much as I love Jules and I loved the first book). Maybe it was the predictability of it or the overall plot driven nature of it all, but wasn’t my favorite.
It wasn’t as spacey as I liked about the first book, but that was just the nature of the story. It was much more YA than I remember the first book being and the romance, though developed, still seemed oddly spontaneous and out of place at times. I missed the sci-fi, constant action of the first book and though I am satisfied with my reading experience and the ending, I’m a little disappointed with just HOW easy it all seemed (and yet frustrating beyond measure).
I’m glad I finally mustered the willpower to just pick up this book and finishing it after so long and I’m excited to see what’s next for Amie and Meg.
“Onward, if you dare.”

With the two massive bombs dropped at the end of Unearthed, I knew I would devour Undying the moment I got it. We start Undying with our protagonists, Mia and Jules, hidden in the walls on an Undying ship. The ship is now in Earth's orbit, but Earth believes it's empty, which it is *so* not. Within the first 40 or so pages, Mia and Jules make it back down to Earth and attempt to warn everyone of an impending alien attack. With absolutely no proof, it's no wonder that no one believes them.
I'll admit, I picked up the first book, Unearthed, because it was a treasure hunting novel in space. Literally, it was Indiana Jones on an alien planet and I loved that. Undying, on the other hand, takes place after the "treasure" is found. It's not another treasure hunting novel, but it's a satisfying conclusion to the duology. I adore Mia and Jules and how awkward they both are about their feelings. I like how the relationship part of the book doesn't overpower the more important drama (ahem, an alien invasion), but it still feels believable. I loved the new characters, especially Neal and all his charm.
There's a moment in the book where everything clicked into place for me and made sense and if I was more clever, I would have picked up on the foreshadowing, but alas, I did not. So the surprise was wonderful.
This was a marvelous conclusion to the Unearthed duology, and anyone who is a fan of quest-type of stories and science fiction will enjoy this wonderful journey!

This was a fun duology. Although I think the first novel was stronger overall, I still enjoyed my time reading this book. And the threat of quarantines and a deadly virus was, uh, timely.

This book was so much fun - I can highly recommend the audiobook, the story is so fast-paced and perfect to get completely sucked into! It's been a year since I read Unrearthed so I don't remember too much, but I think this was better than Unearthed? I definitely LOVED the new characters we met. I'm still rounding down the rating because the ending felt rushed and a bit too easy...
I was a bit confused for a while cause I had guessed that the Undying were humans, but then the characters thought the Undying weren't after all and had "proof" and all that jazz? But I ended up being correct in my guess after all!

I loved this book. I really loved being back with Jules and Mia I just missed them so much. We fallow them as they hide on the Undying spaceship and back on earth. There is so much that goes on and I really don't want to spoil it for anyone.
What I will say is that this book had me off the edge of my sit and it brought me down sobbing. These two ladies are really great at making me love characters and leaving me hanging on every word. I can't wait until I have time to reread these two amazing books they are forever favorites.
