I’m guessing this is the fraternal twin to Haig’s Comfort Book. Together they spin a ying yang yo-yo on the tattered thread of our mental health.

The Comfort Book was ok. I read it a few years ago. It was cute and uplifting. I like Haig as an author very much.

I did not like this book. I wanted to. But it was like a downer devotional - short one pagers only seeming to state how fucked we are, which feels obvious. No redemptive qualities.

In all honesty, I only got about ten pages in, then skimmed and quit.

I cannot recommend this book enough to everyone!!! Haig offers essential insights and observations on our overloaded world and guides you to thinking about the solutions that will work for you. I love his advice on “editing” your life to be happier with what you have, his thoughts on how social media and the internet impact our happiness, his views on how to cope with constant external stressors. I found this an extremely necessary and helpful read, especially after the last year of constant bad news and external stimuli and being glued to social media as the only way to interact. Also, tmi, but my mental health feels like it has soared since I started reading this and following his advice.

Just like his previous book, I really enjoyed this one. So lighthearted but addresses some really important topics. I’m some ways I might have even found this one more useful than the last as I find anxiety a difficult thing to explain to someone and he accurately conveys the difficulties it causes

I really enjoyed this and really feel that it spoke to me a lot, especially about using my time on earth for what I value rather than constantly setting and pursing goals and working.
Easy to read as it’s in little short chapters, some just a paragraph long so you could dip in and out of it..I read it in one though!

Similar in style to reasons to stay alive and likewise will be a lifeline for some people
There are some real gems of advice in here.
