absolute pure fluff, which works sometimes, but here it didn't
the pacing obliterates any tension, we begin the book with an immediate time jump that skips over the rivalry between the two leads, we get an abundance of focus on characters from the other books in the series, taking away attention from the lead couple to discuss the issues of characters i haven't read; and last, and honestly certainly the most egregious thing was the flood of Hamilton references... in fact, one of the sex scenes ends in a Hamilton quote.
if you want something mindless that kinda doesn't really make sense then this will be enjoyable. as it stands, this is 340 pages of missed potential.

Probably my least favorite Bergman story so far, but I still liked it! The transition from attraction to love happened super fast, though. I would have loved more context to that journey.

Love a good soccer romance but I clocked that it was inspired by Ted Lasso immediately lol. I also don’t like when romance novels are intensely aware that they are in a romance novel due to being avid readers of them or whatever, like all the talking about different tropes and recognizing when a trope is happening to them drives me crazy. The best way to use tropes in a romance is having the characters unaware that it’s a thing! Anyways the story was good and the characters were fun but it’s a pet peeve.

I love all of books in this series that I have read. This is a re read for me and I enjoyed just as much as I did the first time. These two just melt my heart. I love how all of these stories don’t just revolve around beautiful people with no real problems, there is a lot of mental health representation through out the series. Love the Bergman family!

I love Ollie and Gavin. The angst, the self-doubt, the longing.

When you end up on the soccer team with your childhood crush, sparks fly.
