I think I’m on a psychological suspense wagon now. Reading so many one after the other,I started feeling I need something different. This one was different with the prose and writing style, but TOOOOO LONGGGGG for me.
Kira and Joanna are two strong ladies and Malcolm Mercer calls the shots in their lives. How will events unfold when the three of them finally come together?
The last page was good, really good, bit it takes so long to get there, that I lost the heat.
Otherwise, a good and a scary debut😉

This was boring. Said it was supposed to be a thriller but it was more of a behind the scenes with a sprinkle of tension. I read some more reviews and they said it doesn’t get any better. Sad because I love they never learn by her.

As a reader, I had high expectations for Temper. Fargo did a good job delving into the themes of sexuality, power, and manipulation in the book, but it fell short when it came to the actual thriller component. As such, I would describe this as a psychological drama rather than a psychological thriller. It was interesting to observe how the author dealt with the sexuality and orientation of her characters, especially since it was an intricate aspect of the narrative without it being too stereotypical. If the thriller aspect of this book had been incorporated, it would have had so much more potential. However, I do believe that the author redeemed herself when she released They Never Learn.
Maybe it's me, but the number of books calling themselves psychological thrillers is much higher than the number that actually are. That's where I am with Temper. It is a drama, but I didn't find anything even remotely thriller-like. As far as the story, it's quite possible that this one went over my head, but I really didn't get it. We have a bunch of characters, none of which are particularly likable, having sex and hating on each other. Okay, I did get that part, I didn't really like it, but I got it. The story is also completely predictable, from the twists to the ending, which is one more reason I don't consider this one a thriller. All of that aside, I think I may have been able to get some reading enjoyment out of this one if someone had told me not to think for myself or ask why during the process. However, I did ask why, particularly where Malcolm was concerned. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why these women wanted him so badly, and why they tolerated his treatment of them. Whatever this mystery allure was, it didn't come through very well, at least not for me. In the end, I was left with a well-written story of unlikable characters that I couldn't find much interest in.

This book tried to be very dark and very psychological. Yes, it’s about obsession, manipulation, emotional abuse and the tension between the characters is well executed. However, their motifs are not. I didn’t get it why everyone here was so obsessed with Malcolm, it wasn’t that believable. And that is a rather huge complaint given that this book is basically plotless in the sense that the central focus of the plot is just following main characters who are just so obsessed with getting Malcolm’s approval. Yeah. We don’t really get anything beside that which would’ve been fine had he been a better written character. With that being said, I cannot really give this book more than 3 stars. I might round it up to 3,5 because it’s a debut and as for the first novel, it’s quite an impressive achivement and brave topic to go with.
