What a rollercoaster of a book! That was a freshman year of college from hell!

This book grabbed my attention from the very chapter and didnโ€™t let go until the last (which is 91 btw). Itโ€™s long but it was paced well.
As a person who reads a lot and usually can see what is coming (especially in romance), I did not see it in this. I had no idea some of the things that happen would happen. It was great.
This was an epic saga. I really loved it though. I love that it was a full story. Finn gets his own little part that was his own obstacle and overcoming of it. And then Scottie gets hers too.
They were both 18 and there is a virginity trope in this but personally I liked how it was handled. It was probably one of the best Iโ€™ve read. Also while they were 18 turning 19, they both had been through a lot so it just felt different. It didnโ€™t really read like they were that young. I loved their push and pull though because they both had a ton of baggage.

Finn was the kind of bad boy that even in real life youโ€™d like him. He was a good guy and just needed a little perspective. He along with all his siblings are people you would be lucky to have in your corner.
I loved Scottie. Her journey in this book really showed you how strong she really was. She went through so much but in the end she had a smile on her face and I love that.

The found family in this was so good. I loved every single one of them. The friend group and the siblings were all A+.
This book genuinely made me want to go back and read the Winslow siblings books.

You laugh, you cry, you fall in love, you feel hopeless and then you find the hope again.

I absolutely love Ace! Please let him get a book after Blake! I love Blake too and I really think Lexi will be one of my fav FMCs. I canโ€™t wait.

Thank you to Max Monroe and Hambright PR for the eARC. I had a great time and highly recommend this book. ๐Ÿค

โœง I was completely caught off guard by the depth of emotion in this book, exceeding my initial expectations. The way the Max Monroe duo skillfully blended romance, humor, and weightier themes throughout the story left me utterly impressed.

โ™ก๏ธŽ The story revolves around Scottie and Finn, two college freshmen embarking on the journey of discovering independence and embracing college life. Initially, Finn believes that their contrasting backgrounds keep them apart, attempting to distance himself from Scottie. However, their connection proves to be undeniable, evident from the very first moment they cross paths with one of the best heartfelt meet-cutes Iโ€™ve read. Then, as fate would have it, Finn, the introvert, unexpectedly befriends Ace Kelly, who happens to be the most charismatic guy on campus. Through this newfound group of friends, Finn's world begins to expand, enabling him to truly be himself and let go of past resentment.

โ™ก๏ธŽ The constant push and pull dynamic between Scottie and Finn had me glued to the screen for hours. Just as things seemed to be progressing positively, their lives became entangled in complications. Additionally, the inclusion of a found family here was just perfect. It had been quite some time since I encountered such an entertaining group of friends. And the appearance of beloved characters from previous series was the icing on the cake. As a whole, this story is simply exceptional in every way!

โœง If you enjoy college romance with a sprinkling of heartfelt angst, this book is an absolute must-read.

Review: If I had to fall in love with a book then Learning Curve would be the one! Max Monroe kicked off her newest series of interconnected standalone featuring the second generation of her beloved billionaires and their friends in an EPIC fashion! Scottie and Finn hold a dear place in my heart after finishing this book and the story between them is one of the most emotionally invested romances I have EVER read by Max!

Learning Curve has everything we love from Max and while the characters shine on their own, it was the found family vibes that she created with Finn, Scottie, Ace, Julia and Blake that sucked me in. Finn begins this book as a rough character who is so closed off he canโ€™t even begin to understand how to open up. I loved how Max created his character story and inner turmoil to fit with his outward persona and then slowly showed us the way he began to evolve as he let in Ace and then Julia, Blake and Scottie. His complexity as a character was the dynamic part of this book and Max Monroe was able to weave the backstory of the Hayes family and the Winslow family in such a way that your heart couldnโ€™t not break while reading. Finnโ€™s steadfast goal of upending Ty Winslowโ€™s life and in return all of the Winslow siblingsโ€™ lives was the epicenter of his storyline and I appreciated that as he began to open up to friends and even accept his feelings about Scottie that his goals began to alter and then change.

Scottie was the sweet and innocent FMC that paired oh so well with Finnโ€™s bad boy side. From the initial meet-cute you could see the sparks flying between them and feel the instant connection these two had within the story. I loved how Scottie was a softer FMC than what I have come to read from Max but also possessed the raw grit to go after what she wantedโ€ฆeven if what she wanted was Finn. Max Monroe set up this book in a way that I was captivated from the first word Scottie had in the prologue, all the way until her deception was laid bare. Her naivety and fear of Finnโ€™s reaction lead us on a journey of intense emotional angst and pining since it led to the third act betrayal and break up but I also felt like it was needed since both of them needed to grow as MCs before settling into their HEA.

Max Monroe threw a ton at us in Learning Curve and the twists and turns she kept punching us with shocked me until the end. The love between Finn and Scottie was combustible and slightly toxic at first but ultimately became soft, sweet and swoon worthy by the end. The way Finn stepped up for Scottie after her accident and then while she was healing and learning who she was again was beautiful to read and kept me in tears while also praying that Scottie would take him back and Max did not disappoint with how she brought them back together. Finn and Scottie are cemented as one of my ultimate book couples and Finn may be the book boyfriend we all secretly pine for from here on out!

**SPOLIERS**

Nowโ€ฆletโ€™s talk about Ace Kelly! His character was the MAN in this book and I did not expect anything less for Thatcher Kellyโ€™s son. I LOVED the way he attached himself like a glued on barnacle to Finn and broke him out of his shell. I also ADORED the pining he did over Julia and cannot wait for their book in this series. Both of them are the perfect blend go their parents from the original Billionaire series Max published and the angst and swoon will be next level for themโ€ฆI already know!

While Ace and Finn had a hilarious friendship, I knew I would love Ace from the moment Thatcher pulls the ultimate prank on his son in class. The chaos these two stir in next level and I applaud Max for the way she was able to suck Finn into their whirlwind of pranks, bonding and emotional support.

ON another note, I cannot wait to see Lexi and Finn bond more in her book that is set to release next and hope to see more sibling teasing now that Finn is part of the pack. I am also extremely excited to see more of the Winslow family in her book and meet the rest of the Hayes kids more! So far the Dickson University series has exceeded everything I expected and I know it will only get better from hereโ€ฆas each of the second generation gets knocked to their knees in love!

Rating: 100+, Scottie and Finn had me rolling around laughing then shaking my fist angry the next in this emotional whirlwind of a romance by Max Monroe!

Thank you to Hambright PR & Max Monroe for sending me this eARC!
emotional funny sad

max and monroe were not lying when they said this book is dramaaa ๐Ÿ’”

scottie and finn are brand new freshman at dickson university. scottie is a sweetheart cheerleader who has some sad secrets and gets dealt every bad card in the deck. finn is a little broken, a lot hot and willing to throw a few punches for the people he loves. their connection is instant, but they both have reasons to ignore itโ€”until they donโ€™t.

this book is very funny, but not a typical max monroe rom com, because it is also sad af. like donโ€™t say i didnโ€™t warn you because what you think are the worst parts arenโ€™t, and the plot twist will break you. i honestly could have done without the added kick to the heart, but other than that, i love all of the angst and the very young people dramaโ€”which is so fun and to be expected in a college romance series.

if youโ€™ve read their billionaire/winslow brothers series you get to see so many of those characters because these are the next generation kids. finn and scottie are friends or related to so many og characters and their children. yes, thatch and cassieโ€™s son is everything you want him to be, and waiting for his book is going to be torture. what a fun, over the top emotional, hilarious start to this new series.

This book drug me in fast! This story was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions. Scottie & Finn went through a lot of crap to get to their HEA.  They both loved each other so deeply but there was always a lot that just got in the way. They both had a lot of childhood trauma they had to work through. There was so much drama and so much angst. So many twists and turns that you don't see coming.  A certain scene with Finn & Ty literally pulled at my heart strings so hard. The side characters were amazing too. I loved their whole friend group. And Ace especially. The ending was not at all like I expected either. There's so much I want to say but I just don't want to give it all away.

This one comes out August 16! Thank you Hambright PR & Max Monroe for this ARC. This is my honest review.

When I started this one, I was so pulled into the story and excited. Then, somewhere along the way, everything just kinda fell apart.
It's entirely too long, and while it is filled with drama, some of it is just not needed. The last 20% could be scrapped and make the book shorter because what even was that?
I love Finn and Scottie, but unfortunately, 600 pages of will they won't they really made this one hard to like.

Thank you to netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Iโ€™ve been reading Max Monroe for years, and my favorite couple of theirs is hands down Wes and Winnie, so finding out Finn is Winnieโ€™s brother and that Ace, Thatchโ€™s son, would be in this series, I knew Iโ€™d love it. See all the kids, all grown up, causing mischief, just makes me so happy. I love every moment of this book from start to finish, with Lexi being my favorite, but I also loved her as a child.

Finn and Scottieโ€™s relationship is emotional, itโ€™s heavy, and itโ€™s never really light. These two make mistakes, have accidents, and overall cannot figure out how to be healthy for each other while dealing with childhood trauma for a while in the book. However, the love between these two is undeniable, they truly love each other, and maybe itโ€™s their age, or their issues, they have to work for their happy ending.

I loved the secret society plot line of this book, one because I know itโ€™ll continue in the future books, two because of Lexi, and I canโ€™t wait to see how it all plays out. Ace and Julia are definitely going to have the best friends to lovers story, and I enjoy every cameo from my favorite Max Monroe characters from start to finish!

โœฆThoughtsโœฆ
Oh my gosh, they were not kidding about the twist & turns in this one!

First off, the friendship group between Finn, Scottie, Julia, Ace, & Blakeโ€ฆ I loved it so much and I canโ€™t wait for Blakeโ€™s book next!

Scottie might be one of the sweetest FMCs ever, I loved her so much. I also love that she would tell Finn off when he needed it. I was in tears for her at the end and what happened. Also Daneโ€ฆ absolute worst!!!

Finn oh my sweet tortured Finnโ€ฆ a fierce protector. All the feels for him!

Loved Finn & Scottie together, they definitely went through it in this one and it was a journey to get their HEA.

I canโ€™t wait to see more of this friendship group in the future!

2024 is the Year of Max Monroe!

Well they have done it again.  Max & Monroe has given us a story that literally makes you feel ALL the feels.  This is a whole new world with the next generation of some of my favorite characters of all time.  Yes ladies and gents, THATCH is back! As well as the rest of the gang and the Winslows too.  All of that being said, you in no way need to worry if you havenโ€™t read those books.  This is a total standalone, but it does give me the itch to revisit my old friends.

Finn & Scottie (love that name so much) are destined to be together, but life doesnโ€™t always work the way we think it should.  But watching these two stand up to all their adversities is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. Can they figure out if their futures do indeed include each other? Well you are going to need to read this to find out.

I am a Max Monroe fan, if they write it I will read it.  And this is me telling you that you need to read it too.
