I am in love with the Cavanaugh Brothers. Thank goodness all three, (okay, four) are in each book. Brash, the third book in the series, is Cole's story. He beats back the guilt of living, while his twin is dead, as a UFC champ. Brash is so desperate to discover who killed Cass that he hounds Grace, the ex-sheriff's daughter. Lucky for him, she now wants to help. Grace wants, no needs, to clear her dad's name. Together, Cole and Grace, discover the name of Cass' stalker. They discover love for each other. The Cavanaugh brothers soon discover the mystery of "Sweet". The pieces are coming together. Ironically, it is Blue, the newly discovered Cavanaugh son, that collects the final piece. Welcome to the cliffhanger. We have to wait for Bonded in September if we want to know what happens to the killer. We have to wait until September to find out if Blue finally accepts his family, his life, and forgives his mother.

ARC Brash

Brash is book three in The Cavanaugh Brothers series by Laura Wright. Yep, I fell in love with the Cavanuagh’s from the first book [b:Branded|18812351|Branded (The Cavanaugh Brothers, #1)|Laura Wright|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1385436307s/18812351.jpg|19242906]. Each of these sexy brother's have captured a piece of my heart. Brash is a heartfelt and romantic tail.

From the moment I opened Brash I was pulled right back into this spectacular world. I enjoy Ms. Wright’s writing style. She has a away of describing people, places, and more with such ease that I can picture every detail. My favorite parts have and will always be the diary entries. They are so well done and perfectly placed in the story.

Cole our tattooed badass cowboy fighter wants no part in falling for a women let alone Grace the ex-sheriffs daughter. Grace is all about stable now and no more bad boys. She has been hurt to much in her past by the love'n and leaven types. The couples always have a way of complementing each other, they see what others do not and they know how to sneak into each others defensives. I loved getting into their heads, understand what they feel, what happens, what made them who they are, how they feel about their past and the hear and now.

We also get deeper into finding out what really happened to Cass and who the mysterious Sweet’s is. Fantastic job setting up for Blue's story. Ah! I want [b:Bonded|23355313|Bonded (The Cavanaugh Brothers, #4)|Laura Wright|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1423979207s/23355313.jpg|42912082] now, especially after that ending. Holy Shit!

These stories have wormed their way into my heart. If you enjoy reading about sexy cowboys, a little mystery, and women who know how to sneak their way into a guys heart and break down their defenses, then these books are for you.

Brash
4.5 Stars

Brash is the third installment in the ongoing saga of the Cavanaugh brothers' investigation into the murder of their younger sister, Cass. This book focuses on her twin brother, Cole, an MMA fighter who uses his guilt to fuel his rage in the ring, and Grace Hunter, the daughter of the former sheriff, who botched the case. Cole and Grace work together to uncover new leads into the identity of the mysterious "Sweet" and his connection to Cass's death.

Cole and Grace's slow-burn, opposites-attract romance has all of the chemistry and true intimacy lacking from the previous books. Their teasing banter is particularly delightful, and it is fun following along as they finally submit to the tension that has been building from book #1. Wright also manages to avoid much of the angst and drama that detract from Deacon and Mac's as well as Sheridan and James's stories.

In terms of the mystery surrounding Cass's death, there has been a great deal of exposition and foreshadowing, which makes it relatively easy to guess some of the twists and turns that emerge. Nevertheless, these revelations add another layer of intrigue to the story.

The book does end on a rather jarring cliffhanger, but the final installment is thankfully published already so I am off to read it ASAP.

The cage fighting Cavanaugh, Cole, is still in constant turmoil and guilt about his twin's murder and determined not to let anything as silly as that icky love stuff get in the way of vengeance, even if his brothers have both gone soft in the head and googley in the eyes!

Or that's what he reckons, anyway...

So we had hints about the chemistry between Grace and Cole in the last book and now we get to see that all play out! Yay! Due to a series of fortunate events, Cole and Grace end up spending some nice quality time together at Grace's house - just long enough for her to realise that big, scary Cole isn't so big and scary after all. Especially once she agrees to start helping rather than hindering his attempts to find answers about Cass's murder.

The romance, while sweet and very enjoyable, suffers slightly in comparison to the last two couples, coming together quite late on in the book. But what we lose in romance stuff we more than make up for in progress on the Cass situation, with a couple of very significant developments and a very intriguing set up for the next book, which I'm assuming will be Blue's!

Overall, another great read!

This is a story of a twin torn with the loss and guilt of his twin sister, and of the Cavanaugh family that has been ripped apart since that fateful day. A man who seeks out solace by fighting hard in the UFC. And it’s about meeting his so-called match in a woman who may or may not have some sort of connection to someone involved in his sister’s murder.

“The question was, how many times could an adult read the Harry Potter series before it got weird? Or embarassing? Five? Ten?”

Cole Cavanaugh is man who retains his emotions inside, building up year after year. He uses that emotion to fuel his rage that helps him to win his fights. He’s a twin missing his other half, and living daily with the fact that she’s gone. And the guilt that he lives while she does not. So he, and his brothers, are on a quest to nail down what happened to her. He’ll do whatever it takes to get there, including bowling over Grace to get to it. What he doesn’t expect is that she holds her own.

“She stabbed the piece, then lifted it to his mouth. ‘A taste isn’t going to get you in trouble.’
‘Oh, Doc, that’s exactly how I get into trouble. One. Little. Taste.'”

Grace Hunter is a woman who is suffering the slow deterioration of her father into dementia. The only family she has left is now losing his memory of her. She wants to protect her father in every way possible, so when Cole starts sniffing around him, she fights back. She agrees to help, but is out for her own gains. She sees Cole for what he is, and she’s not afraid to dish it right back to him. She knows his type, and normally steers clear of the bad-boy kind that will do nothing but break her heart. But she’s weak to his kind, and he knows just how to sneak his way in there.

“‘Someday,’ he began in a guttural tone, ‘this hot, wet p*ssy will be mine. Jeans off. Underwear torn by my teeth and discarded on the floor.'”

What starts out as a shaky alliance with each person out for themselves, turns into two people finding what they need in each other. I loved Grace’s ability to match wits with Cole. And I loved that Cole had that snarky, cocky attitude of working to get under her skin, to rile her up. It was a playful foreplay to their eventual explosion. And while both characters were strong and tough in their own ways, they were able to be weak for each other. A cowboy and a vet, willing to take chances on each other. It was a beautiful story along with a slow, steady build-up that was just right. (And, oh the way it leaves off? Man, I need book four now!) (No cliffhanger, essentially) <—truly, for them as a couple, no cliffhanger.

*I have not read the prior books in the series, and was able to follow the story just fine.

Of all the Cavanaugh brothers, I had a feeling Cole would be my favorite. I was right. Possibly the more broken of the brothers, he blames himself for the loss of his twin sister. To deal with pain and angry, he's become a fierce fighter in the ring and lives his life the same way.

What I liked most about this book compared to the previous ones is that the hero and the heroine get to know each other and fall in love over time. You might argue that Mac and Deacon 'knew' each other and were friends, but the truth is they didn't. Not really. With Grace and Cole, due to circumstances and what they were both trying to accomplish individually (Cole trying to find out what happened to his sister and Grace, trying to prove her father had nothing to do with covering anything up), they had to learn to trust each other and get to know one another. I mean, I know the man is one fine specimen of a man, but there's GOT to be more than that to make things work out. Yes, I KNOW its a story. But you read as many books as I do, and these troops become redundant and boring after awhile. Thankfully, Grace stood her ground and there was more between them, than COLE Sexy torso, irresistible smile, those eyes, well, you get it!

We learn a lot more about the mystery that surrounds Cass’s murder, which from a reader's perspective, its a good thing since this is book three of four, and the last book should have all if not most of the answers. A few surprises here and there. Readers I think will be find the information satisfying.

We also get a few glimpses of Mac & Deacon and Sheridan & James. Both couples are entirely too cute with each other! Its also always great to see the brotherly interactions. Their ladies don't hold back either. Grace will fit right in!

Overall a great read that enjoyed very much!! Laura does a great job keeping you on your toes about who killed Cass as well as who some some of the other players are as well and how they all fit into the story. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment and see how Laura ends things and find out exactly what happened to Cass.

Cole Cavanaugh, the third brother in the Cavanaugh family and twin brother to Cass, ran fast and far from the ranch owned by his parents a long time ago. Coming back to join his brothers at his father's funeral, all of his past regrets come to the surface. Cole knows his life is a mess outside the ring but inside the fighting ring he knows that's where he can take out all of his aggression. Learning that the ex-sheriff who handled his sister's murder case kept a big secret, Cole feels it's now his job to learn the truth. Using the ex-sheriff's daughter to get what he wants turns out to be more than Cole was looking for until she gives him exactly what he needs.
