Laurel and Huck find themselves surrounded by serial killers (willingly or unwillingly) but at least this time some roosters come to pen, though not all of them. Abigail remains a truly fascinating character, while all the others seem to be put into the plot only to die a short time later.
However, I wouldn't mind if this series came to an end because sometimes I feel like it drags a little.

I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

I would round the rating up to a 4.25*
You Can Kill is the 4th book in Rebecca Zanetti's Laurel Snow series. I absolutely love the character of Laurel Snow. An off the charts genius with a touch of Asperger's, she brings a large glass of logic to bringing serial killers to justice. The secondary characters of love interest Huck Rivers, her mother Deidre and the group of ragtag employees of the thrown together FBI office in the Pacific Northwest and their partner the Fish and Wildlife Service make this a well rounded read. Evil abounds in Genesis Valley and one of the most evil characters has escaped from custody. Serial killer, Jason Abbott was apprehended by Laurel in the previous book. Faking a suicide, he gets taken to the hospital and in the aftermath, a series of murders happen. They are nothing like the his previous kills though, so has he changed his methods or is there a new killer in town?
If you have not read the previous books in the series, it would help to read them first, but it is not absolutely necessary. This book grips the reader from the very beginning running the emotional gamut. Laurel's character continues to grow with each successive book. A couple of characters are a bit over the top with a hint of the caricature, but that is about the only critique I can give these romantic suspense books. I cannot wait for book 5.

You Can Kill was so good! It kept me guessing the whole way through and I loved the tension that was built as the story progressed, it had you questioning everyone!

This felt like a stripped back story in terms of secondary characters giving more focus to Laurel and Huck. The emotional strength that they obviously draw from each other is becoming more apparent and it makes for a great relationship for them. Even with the stripped back feel this story wasn't lacking in any way. It had all the drama and suspense that I've come to expect and love from this series and has me really appreciating the skill Rebecca Zanetti has to illustrate the isolation within this book so subtly and eloquently.

This definitely needs to be read as part of the series, I wouldn't recommend reading it as a standalone as some of the key topics need the background of the previous books to fully understand what's going on.

Another heart stopper!

I've been enthralled with the Laurel Snow series from the very first book, captivated by the slow-building romance between the MC's, and eagerly counting down the days until her psychotic sister finally gets what she deserves.

With so many characters having justified motives for revenge, the story keeps you guessing as you try to unravel who the real villain is. The last five chapters had me holding my breath--and at one point, I even had to put the book in the freezer!

I thoroughly enjoyed the intricate webs the author weaves around the brutal killings and mysterious happenings, but my patience with Abigail is wearing thin. That said, I can't recommend the audiobooks for this series enough--they truly bring the story to life!

Be aware that there are trigger warnings, so it's worth checking those out before diving in. And trust me, these books are best enjoyed in order!

FBI agent Laurel Snow and boyfriend, Fish and Wildlife Captain, Huck Rivers, along with both departments, work diligently to find the person responsible for the murders of 3 women. The scenes were so descriptive that I could feel the cold of the Pacific Northwest in the dead of winter. The characters were so well described that I felt as if I knew them. The story moved along quickly until the exciting climax.

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti
Laurel Snow series

You definitely don't want to move to Genesis Valley.  Although I'm pretty sure all the bad things happen because of people in Special Agent Laurel Snows life.  Obviously her sister is certifiable and her father is a narcissist and rapist,  likely murderer. We're introduced to a bevy of additional people in this book.  We get to see the relationship between Laurel and Huck grow stronger.  There is a lot going on with new murders eerily similar,  but not quite to the Abbottcase.  Buckle in,  it's a bumpy chaotic ride to find the killer.
