Really cute, fun, light read- that is, if you prefer all your characters in black and white. The good ones are substantially rewarded at the end and the "bad" ones do a complete 180 and become saints- heartily learning their lessons. I did like the Irish history quite a bit and rooted for the characters- it was just a set of very one-dimensional story lines. PS- this says "series #1"- there's MORE?

The book is an easy read and I was leaning towards a 3 star earlier on, but as it progressed the obvious formulaic took over and the saccharine sweet bows everything got tied up in were just too much.

Where to start with this book…..
Firstly, the characters are mostly horrible. I hate the “American tourist” trope….I do get it, many times we are annoying while traveling, but all of them being this annoying and stereotypical? Over half of the characters are wildly unlikeable.
Constantly having a late twenties woman be referenced as a child and as a Communist is also just ridiculous.
Cannot say that I would recommend this book to anyone. I don’t usually write reviews on books, but this is one to not really waste one’s time on.

3.5 stars. Cute story about a group of Americans on a coach tour in Ireland with a little romance thrown in.
Character development was good but unbelievable, and the bow the entire story was wrapped up in may even give chick-lit a bad name. Still, it’s a fun read that reminded me that I never want to go on a coach tour — in Ireland or elsewhere.

A Heady Character Driven story
O I just loved how the characters grew and changed over the course of this story. It was a quaint jaunt through Ireland with moving human stories weaved in. I cried with the chars gets when the trip was over. A lovely little read overall.

Somewhat predictable but nonetheless a very pleasant read about a tour guide and the group of Americans he takes around Ireland. Very character-driven, so if you’re looking for descriptions of the Irish countryside, this isn’t your book.

Like a satisfying meal
This book made me cry, which normally makes me angry. However, they wear wholesome, satisfying, good feeling tears.
I'm a sucker for rags to riches / beauty from ashes stories, and I love happy endings. This book was all of that and more, weaving a detailed and interesting storyline with relatable, if not always likable characters.
Like life, bad choices were made and abrasive personalities ran amuck. And, like life sometimes happens, those had lifelong consequences. But, unlike life, we get a first row seat to see how those choices play out and how the story ends.
So, if you're like myself and have had your fill of horror, tragedy, disappointment and bad news, this makes the perfect escape. Maybe it's a little too idealistic, but for me that's a perfect counterbalance to the negativity and endless bad news were all exposed to. So, like any good meal, this is tasty, filling, easy to digest, and doesn't leave you with regrets for hours afterward.
