4.5 - Not as good as the first, but as always, Anna Banks has a way of writing that brings out all of my emotions. The inner-geek in me was loving this book, and like the first, I couldn't stop reading.

An awesome sequel to an awesome series! I absolutely loved it! A must for mermaid YA fiction fans. The ending was so surprising and the plot twists were great! I'm so excited for Of Neptune!

This is along the same lines as the first one for me. This is a quick, easy read that's fun. This would be a great series to help get people out of a reading slump.

What I liked:
1. This book picked up where the last one left off. This was an easy transition for me to make, and I was not confused about what was happening.
2. This has more mermaid stuff in it than the first book. It takes place more underwater than on land, which I like. I continually want to see more of mermaid life.
3. More action and plot development in this one. This book has more conflict, political issues, and family drama.

What I didn't like:
1. Galen's tendency to be overprotective and possessive at times. It annoyed me, even though I could understand that his strong feelings for Emma cause him to overreact.
2. Although this book was fast paced, I do feel like it could have been longer. A LOT of stuff happened in this book, all crammed into a pretty short book.

I loved this book way better than the first one. This one stared out right where the first left one, which is a good thing with that cliffhanger! It was interesting the see how things turned out. But I was kind of weird out about Nalia and Grom. Grom is Galen’s brother. And Nalia being Emma’s mother. Then Galen and Emma being together and Nalia and Grom being mates. So yeah, really complicated and kind of weird. But other than that, I loved it. But I need more of Galen and Emma! I love them together. Even though it’s a barely there romance kind of insta love. Now that they get to mate, hopefully we will see more of them. We got to see more of the “mermaid” aspect in this book. The trial thingy was really interesting. I really like Emma’s grandfather. He seems supportive of her even though she is a half breed. So sad about what happened to Rachel 😥Overall, can’t wait for the thrid book!

While of triton was a fast paced novel and full of action, I didn't really care about what did or didn't happen and I wasn't effected in any way by what were supposed to be the emotional parts of the book. The reason for this was lack of character development, or maybe just my lack of attachment to the characters. However, I did still like this book because of how easy and quick of a read it is.

If you're looking for something easy and fun to read, I would look no further.

3.5 stars. A fun mermaid tale that continues the story from Of Poseidon. I wasn't thrilled with some aspects of the ending and the back-and-forth between first person and third person points of view is a little hard to get used to.

Overall, I ended up mostly liking this book. The changing tenses really drove me crazy and made it difficult to follow the story. I did like how things progressed and I liked the character interactions.

It was not as good as of Poseidon, but i enjoyed it and would recommend it to any water/mermaid lovers

God, how I love this series.

After reading and absolutely loving Of Poseidon, I couldn't wait to jump straight into Of Triton. I was a bit worried I wouldn't love it as much as I did the first book, and I guess I did like the first book just a teeny tiny bit more, but overall Of Triton was just as exciting, entertaining, hilarious and swoon-worthy as the previous book. Once again, I found myself frantically turning pages, laughing out loud and staying up late to finish.

Of Triton picks up exactly where the previous volume left off. Immediately, we find ourselves at the heart of a highly dramatic tornado of action and romance. I don't want to go into details here, as I am trying to avoid spoilers, but let's just say that if you loved the first book and if you are dying to find out what happens next, you really won't be disappointed.

Of Triton is just as action packed as Of Poseidon. Things are happening really fast, one minute we have a high speed car chase, the next we're reading about some slimy deep underwater politics, back stabbings and treason. The book is shorter than the previous one, but just as meaty and eventful. Banks' signature humor is at its best. The characters still have this amazing chemistry between them, the sparks are flying, and so are the butterflies. There's a little bit less cheesy romance and flirting, but more high-stake drama and tension.

Emma is, perhaps, a bit tiring in this volume, but who can blame her. She's been through so much - from discovering her Half-Breed-ness to being kidnapped by her own mother, chased across the country by her fish-boyfriend, only to learn that their relationship is in fact completely forbidden. Who wouldn't be just a bit cranky? Who wouldn't express their discontentment? I know I'd be having a whine-fest for sure! So, yes, I totally forgive her for all the complaining and what-ifs. Remarkably, she's still able to joke around and pack a punch with her biting remarks. She's sharp, tougher than before, a bit less clumsy and a whole lot more bad-ass.

Rayna is still the coolest fish in the sea, Toraf is still awesome, Galen's fin got bigger (am I the only pervert thinking weird thoughts in relation to this? Come on, I can't be the only one...) and he took to calling Emma angelfish, which I absolutely adore. Nalia plays a bigger part in the story, though if you want to get to know her and Grom better, I recommend you read the first short story - you'll understand these two a whole lot better.

Overall, I had just as much fun with this book as I did with the first one. This is such a fantastic, exciting, breathtaking, fun, well written series, I am loving every second of every page. The second volume offers a closure that is really quite satisfying. There's no cliffhanger that makes you want to strangle a random passerby, though there's enough wiggle room for a couple new and exciting plot lines to emerge in the third book. I'm definitely excited to see where Anna Banks will take us next. I've no idea what Of Neptune will be about but I sure as hell can't wait to find out!
