This one just felt very predictable to me and I didn’t ever fall in love with the characters. I am not big on books that weigh heavily with a storyline where a character has a partner but is in love with someone else. It’s just not my jam.

More Than Words by Jill Santopolo was an emotional read. I really felt connected to the main character, but I do wish that the story dove a little deeper into her relationships with some of the other characters. I liked the other characters, but I didn’t feel attached to any of them in the same way I felt with Nina. Otherwise, I found the story line enjoyable, even though it was simple. The structure allowed the true message of finding oneself among expectations and pressure to come through wholeheartedly and I really enjoyed the message of the book. I thought that this book was really beautifully written, and I loved the short chapters. I think it helped a lot with the pacing, especially for such heavy emotions. Overall, this is one of the better contemporary novels I’ve read as of late, and though it had its emotional moments, ended being a pretty feel-good read.

I enjoyed The Light We Lost, so I had hope for this one, but it fell a bit flat for me. The story follows a super rich hotel heiress who suddenly loses her father. After his death, secrets about the family start unraveling, meanwhile she’s struggling to take over the family business when her passion lies in speechwriting for a very attractive upcoming New York politician.
The writing isn’t anything super special and the story feels like a whole lot of rich people problems. I’d skip this one!

❤️ The Light We Lost is still my fav of the two but I adored More Than Words in a whole different way.

I like the quote " I love you," "More than words" that was my fav part. This didn't really tug at my heartstrings but it was good.

This was an attempt from a StoryGraph out of my comfort zone category. I was bored by the rich people's problems after a few chapters.
