4.45 AVERAGE

It took a bit to finish this series and it was certainly a rollercoaster. At points I hated the writing and the characters were bland but conversely, sometimes the story was intense and captivating and I found myself loving it! I have to say this series very much overused a ton of typical teen YA tropes and there wasn’t really anything new in terms of plot, it felt like a basic YA adventure romance type book with a consequential sci-fi storyline. This book was an average finale and I would still say that AIDAN was by far the best and most interesting character. I’ll give the book credit for an awesome original and intriguing format with the mixed media approach. But otherwise it was a decent trilogy.

What an amazing series and do well done as audiobooks. The multi-cast really makes it!!

Stereotyping, Fetishization

A thoroughly satisfying ending to the trilogy. Also audio versions are HIGHLY recommended because production value [and cost?] is sky high.

The final book in the Illuminae Files trilogy, Obsidio was well worth the wait.

This book pulled together the characters from the first two books, having them meet and work together. In addition, it throws in another pair of teens, and a whole band of soldiers and civilians back at Kerenza.

The book is primarily told from the perspectives of the survivors of the first two books racing back to Kerenza, and the starving, occupied survivors of Kerenza.

AIDAN, the A.I. is perhaps my favorite character in this whole series. It poses some very interesting moral arguments and situations (again) in this book, but the rest of the cast is strong and likable as well.

Stronger then the second book, and about as good as the first one, Obsidio is well worth a read for any fans of the Illuminae Files.

3.5 ☆ there was a couple hundred pages in the middle there that almost made me quit, but man did the ending pick up! Happy with how it ended!

Well fuck.
I’m sad it took me so long to read these books.
I’m sad that it’s over.
But I really loved this story.

Reading this trilogy was truly one of the kind experience. Loved it very much.

Molti momenti tragici, molte belle frasi a effetto.
