This book is fantastic and is the first in a trilogy about three Mousai sisters - each possessing a dangerous, and wonderful, gift. This story follows Larkyra who possesses the gift of music.

The books are based on Greek Mythology with a fantasy twist. It has been really well written and is a rollercoaster of emotions. I really felt for the characters and you get immersed in the story. I just loved everything about this book, and cannot wait to read the next in the series.

This is an enchanting story with a whole lot of potential for the following books. As a debut book it's spectacular, but there are some small snags in the story, and at least one typo that threw me off. Because it wasn't prominent and the story was more encapsulating than not I loved it. I enjoyed the dule versions of the Bassett family in the thief kingdom and in Aadilor. I also enjoyed the sisters and how they are all very different but extremely powerful together. The perspective of this book being the youngest Bassett who's power lies with her voice making her have the most volatile magic. At the same time it shows a lot of character development as you learn about her growing up til her mission to help save this city drowning in an endless rain. It leaves it with a happy ending, but loose ends that will lead for the next sisters story which, based on this story, I have high hopes for.

Song of the Forever Rains by E.J. Mellow

If you’ve ever wanted to try immersive reading, this is the perfect place to start. Both the ebook and audiobook are on Kindle Unlimited, complete with the assisted reading feature that highlights words in real time.

I adored this book. It’s quick, low-spice (just one brief scene), and utterly enchanting. The vibes gave me shades of "One Dark Window" or "Belladonna". A gothic-leaning fantasy world that feels just one step removed from our own. Book one offers a perfect taste of the broader magic to come, while still delivering a complete, satisfying story wrapped up with a little swoony bow.

Although it’s part of a trilogy, each book follows a different sister in her own independent tale along the same timeline, making them perfect standalones or palate cleansers between heavier reads. If you love gothic fantasy but prefer it light, fun, and charming rather than heavy or grim, I can’t recommend this one enough.
