Let Me Love You is the fourth book in Megan Smith's Love series. These books are about interconnected characters. I hadn't read any of the previous books before starting this story and it wasn't necessary to understand Jaylinn and Cooper's book but I do think that it would have been beneficial. I really enjoyed this one though, and I can't wait to go back and read the previous books as well as get the next story in this series.

Jaylinn is determined to move forward with her life after enduring a horrible incident. She has been leaning on her best friend and almost boyfriend to help her feel whole again. Jaylinn and Cooper do almost everything as a pair and are practically living together. Jaylinn is ready to move forward with their lives and finally become a real couple. She is ready to put the past behind her and see where things between her and Cooper could go by finally having sex. But Cooper is scared that when they finally make love that it will ruin things between them and damage Jaylinn more than she already is. Cooper does his best to keep Jaylinn at arms length, but it becomes more difficult for him as time goes on. When Jaylinn has finally reached her breaking point, Cooper must decide if he is willing to take the risk or if he will lose her forever.

I really liked Cooper, but I really did not understand him at times. I wanted to shake him and ask him what his problem was! I know that he was trying to be patient with Jaylinn and help her to get over the past. He didn't want to push her and do more damage, but seriously get a clue. He was so freaking blind when it came to what Jaylinn really needed. I loved that he was always there for her, and I loved that his feelings for her were strong and real. But I just wanted him to wake up faster! He was so sweet with her and took care of her in every way that she needed except one. Jaylinn was strong and determined, and I really liked how well she knew herself. She was such a survivor and knew that she was ready to move forward and that she wanted it to be with Cooper. I was really glad that she didn't let him continue to ignore things between them, and I thought it was great that she did what she had to do for herself. I thought that Jaylinn and Cooper had a lot of chemistry together, and you could feel their attraction. Their emotional connection was so strong though, and it was their history and feelings that made their relationship so special.

Overall, this story was really good. I liked Cooper and Jaylinn as well as the secondary characters. I can't wait to get more of all of these great characters, especially Cooper's friend Eli. I will warn you that this book does end in a good place, but there is a bit of a cliffhanger. Not enough to completely freak the reader out, but enough to make you want more and be left knowing that the story is far from over. I can't wait to read the previous books and see how Cooper and Jaylinn got to this point, and also get to know the rest of the characters better as well. But I am really looking forward to getting the next story in this series and seeing what happens after the ending of this book. I would definitely recommend this one and I think that a lot of readers will find these characters to be likable and easy to relate to.

Oh Jaylinn. Such a sweet soul, despite her horrible ordeal.
You can’t really blame her for falling for Coop, he is literally her saviour.

It was hard listening to their story. Listening to the guilt he felt, the pain she endured.
She is pushing for more, he can’t give her what she wants.
While she is living for the future, he is stuck in the past and can’t get out of his head.
These guys and their drama... gah! They have sucked me right in and I can’t get enough!
Highly recommend (the entire series).

Jessica did an amazing job with narration.

Enjoyable

I loved this one. Cooper is a great guy who can't admit his feelings for the perfect girl because of what happened in the past. Well written story line with two characters that have amazing chemistry once they realize what is right in front of them. I love that all the characters are in this book and you are updated on what is going on with all of them. Didn't like it was a cliff hanger. But definitely has me digging right into the next one.

Let Me Love You was beautifully written. Megan has an amazing way of writing hard topics but keeping the mood light and I think that is because of how in depth she creates her characters, she can make you cry and then turn around and make you laugh. She is able to give us an in depth look into every character and still bring a lot of each of them into every book.

OMG These two... I want to smack both of them upside the head most of the time in the prior books of the series. The cat and mouse game that these two play is of epic proportions! I was always intrigued by these two and the reason for their relationship through the first books in the series. When things come to light you heart breaks for both Jaylinn and Cooper. When things are finally out in the open its pure magic. I absolutely love the flow of this book as you delve deeper into this series. I cannot wait for more!

Jaylinn wants to "inhale the future, exhale the past". She wants to move forward but Connor is stuck in the past, blaming himself for what happened to her. It's the reason the got closer. But it's also the reason he keeps holding back.

With the prologue we get a glimpse into Jaylinn's nightmares. That had me instantly interested and made this the heaviest book in the series so far. Her thoughts on being dirty were just sad.

Afterwards the story starts off, where the previous book ended, with Cooper's confession.
I thought this would be the big issue here. As Cooper had a secret, something he kept from her because he wanted to protect her. And he was afraid of her reaction. Because that's how these books worked so far.
Cooper was such a sweet one but he also irritated me. I didn't get why he didn't just talk to her about his worries. Not that it wasn't believable.

But I loved how things turned out. I loved how Jaylinn adressed the problem I had with the previous stories.
Out of the three girls we got know better, she's definitely my favourite. She's broken but also so strong. She's so reasonable, always open and honest, explaining that he can't keep things from her. And hands down to her for not throwing Brittany, who happens to be a crazy bitch and her half-sister, into his face later.

I enjoyed how playful the two of them together were. I read the previous books and I knew their story but somehow I was surprised they weren't official. I mean they were practically living together, always around one another.
And I enjoyed Eli. I totally get that he's just so hot, you can't not be attracted to him and blush when he's around, I'd love too see him again in the following books.

And of course this ended with another cliffhanger. I'm going to get me the next book, for sure.

This might have just been the best one of this series. At least, this is what I thought when I was in the process of reading the first few chapters. But then it again started to just get annoying.

Writing style: good (as always, there were quite a lot of mistakes and errors, which really annoyed me ‘cause they stopped the writing flow)
Plot: interesting (I can hardly say whether it was a good one or a bad one… Maybe the characters just annoyed the hell out of me)
Characters: okay

I would have loved to find out more about their love story, from the beginning ‘til now. This novel begins where the last one (Mason’s and Hailey’s) ends which means that we do not know when they got together and what happened between them.
I am not so sure about our man whore Coop. Why did he not approach Jay earlier?
And why are all of the guys in this series man whores?? Seriously, what is wrong with them? Can’t one of them see that the love of their life is in front of them before they have slept with half of the girls within a 50 km radius?
And no I haven’t forgotten about Jackson but still… Those two could have hit it off earlier, seriously.
I mean, we basically get to know that both have had crushes on each other. Sure, that’s exactly why Coop continually had a different girl in his bed. Nice.

About our characters, JayJay needs help. Professional help. And if pride’s in her way? Screw it! He is her best friend, he should have acted, he should have looked for help. Coop knows she suffers, when he realizes this won’t just go away, he should have acted.
I hate that Jay never told anyone. Coops keeps saying she’s so strong but is she really if she lets this guy walk away? If she lets him dictate her sleep? Sure, she seems to be fine, during the day, she can handle it - during the day but not at night. Shouldn’t that be some kind of indication?

Yeah, this is the last full book of this series and it was good, probably better than the others but still … something doesn’t sit right with me here.
And don’t get me started on this CLIFFHANGER!!! What the actual hell?? So unnecessary…
Oh yeah, and about protection and safe sex? This book, as all the others, clearly shows that not only teenagers but also grown adults like Coop who has his own career are stupid and don’t think about it. Thanks for that.
