“Heaven. It’d be Heaven, gettin’ you for one minute while on my way to Hell.”

My spirit didn’t fully connect with this book. There were some phrases that were repeated ad nauseam that kept taking me out of the story. I loved the premise of the book but it didn’t quite hit home for me. While this was a friends choose pick- I know Dominique reads amazing books and I still trust her. There are readers for every book. If this plot looks like something you would enjoy pick it up and I would love to hear what you loved about it.

This was perfect to me.

A Wild Smutty Ride

This is a wild smutty ride that features a private school teacher that falls for a student’s father, but Trent isn’t your typical single dad. He’s a grumpy club owner that walks the fine line of gritty and hot. The two of them have an angst filled fiery relationship and the whole story is pretty fun.

The author’s writing style was a bit different for me, but the story was still interesting. I would recommend this for people that love smut.

DID NOT FINISH: 40%

The MMC calling the FMC “kitten” was icky, the FMC (a grown woman) calling her dad “Daddy” just felt immature. The inner dialogue sometimes felt unnecessary and was sometimes just small declarative statements which didn’t bring a lot to the story line. Once I realised I was skimming the text and just going straight to the parts where the characters spoke, I realised it was a DNF for me.

The dialogue sometimes was a bit ... surreal and the plot twist was very predictable to me but I really loved it!!
Gage is too cute

I really enjoyed this story which follows a young woman who needs another job to pay off a debt and joins the club where she meets her student’s father. I enjoyed this book and have heard that this book is being traditionally published so I was happy to get the indie. I enjoyed the storyline of this book. I’m all for a steamy, he falls first romance in a small town. I do have to say that the dialogue did kind of make this book cringy but it was mostly in the beginning. The pacing was good and I liked the mystery storyline. It did kind of getting boring towards the end where it the truth was reveleaed. This book is told from both Eden and Trent pov.

Eden if the FMC of the story who needs to pay off a debt created by her sister. I liked her character and seeing her work so hard but not truly for herself. Then we have Trent who loves his family and would do anything for them. He’s a great character but I have to say that I hated the way he spoke. There are many side characters but I loved Gage and the guys. The romance is he falls first, single parent, enemies to lovers, and forbidden love with some steamy scenes.

The ending was where everything was revealed. I have to say that the plot twist was expecting for me and not a total surprise. It also ended very fast. Though I would most likely read the next book. I would love to see what the other brothers have in store for us.

I wasn't sure about this book at first. I knew it would be good as A.L. Jackson has yet to let me down, I started reading and was hooked. The chemistry was amazing between the characters. By the end, I was having trouble reading through the tears rolling down my face. That's what a good book does to you. Looking forward to reading the second one in this series.

I really wanted to like this one more than I did. The story started off really well but then lost me around 54%. I found the writing style to be repetitive, the characters were annoying, and the plot just dragged on longer than it should. Trent was self deprecating and got on my nerves. Eden was this super sweet church mouse type; she was just too innocent and I found I could not connect with her.

I really had super high hopes for this series and the author so I’m kinda sad. I may try another one of her series.
